It's absolutely a test for Starmer and if he has any sense he'll take this gift to remove yet another Corbyn Clone from the shadow front bench.

I really, really do hope so. I’ll be disgusted if the Labour Party sidesteps such a shameful, hateful statement after all their recent misogynistic bullshit.

gamerchick · 28/06/2020 18:29

Stephen king has retweeted and is getting grief for doing it. He's 'on notice'. Be nice to see big authors standing by her side if he sticks to it.

mum2jakie · 28/06/2020 18:28

She's such an inspirational woman. It's an embarrassment that we need to describe her as 'brave' - purely for stating basic biological facts. This world is a seriously messed up place at times.

Helmetbymidnight · 28/06/2020 18:28

she's awesome.

just watching the tras unable to say anything except 'shut up terf' is an incredible sight.

Have truer words ever been spoken?!
How does this have to been said in this century?!

Agreed. That’s one hell of a powerful quote!!
crosseyedMary · 28/06/2020 18:25

I salute you JK Rowling!!

SameOldBS · 28/06/2020 18:24

One of two nice things to happen to me today, after feeling so low about all this yesterday. JKR has actually made me tearful, which is not something that happens often to this woman.

DomDoesWotHeWants · 28/06/2020 18:24

Just love JKR.

Jumbogirl · 28/06/2020 18:23

Thank you JK Flowers Flowers Flowers

She makes it clear that she thinks his apology was not an apology at all - and illustrates that point beautifully.

She does.

And she does this without wishing him harm for what he's done for her. That's what civilised looks like.

ahumanfemale · 28/06/2020 18:22

@miri1985

If I had the level of F U money that JK has I would in no way be this classy. Probably better for society that shes rich rather than me.

Me too!!

DeRigueurMortis · 28/06/2020 18:22

@BigBadVoodooHat

If Rowling has accepting his apology then it might make it harder for Starmer to say that the apology wasn’t enough and take further action?

Good point - I fear you may be correct Sad

I'm not sure that's true.

JKR accepting an apology on a personal level doesn't resolve the issue that a shadow minister showed incredibly poor judgment in publishing in the first place AND only apologised after the story was picked up by national news.

It's absolutely a test for Starmer and if he has any sense he'll take this gift to remove yet another Corbyn Clone from the shadow front bench.

Thehollyandtheirony · 28/06/2020 18:22

She really is everything I’d like to be when I grow up. I can’t wait to introduce my children to her writing.

Lottapianos · 28/06/2020 18:21

Perfect response to his weaselly nonsense. What a little shit he is. Shes a total class act, the epitome of bravery and dignity

justanotherneighinparadise · 28/06/2020 18:21

That thread is gold isn’t it??! 😮

Pregnamechange · 28/06/2020 18:19

JK I think I love you more than my own husband

SameOldBS · 28/06/2020 18:19

@User56788432567

I have nothing but support for her regarding this. It’s funny how many on the left are becoming so extreme that they don’t realise that they have become who they claim to hate the most.
Yes, they're now as fascist as the fascists they claim to hate.
GrimDamnFanjo · 28/06/2020 18:19

Amazing response to that complete arse. Cheered me up no end. Go Jo!

StandUpStraight · 28/06/2020 18:17

I don’t know. She makes it clear that she thinks his apology was not an apology at all - and illustrates that point beautifully. I think her acceptance of it reads as a pointed demonstration of courtesy, which that little man wouldn’t recognise if he found it in his soup. And she has specifically copied in the Labour Party. I think this one will be hard to wriggle out of. Or, it bloody should be.

AbsintheFriends · 28/06/2020 18:11

I am in so much awe of her.

I bet the last thing she wanted to do was wade into the cesspool of misogyny all over again. It's Sunday. She has a job to do and a family to be with and her own mental health to protect, but she must have realised that if she spoke again now it would shine more light on the sinister dynamics of this movement and might just have an impact on how Keir Starmer and the labour party handle the rank misogyny and sanctioned sexism of the left wing woke. Not to mention leaving the media less room to misrepresent it.

I am so grateful for her tireless, selfless courage and strength.

FiddlefigOnTheRoof · 28/06/2020 18:10

JK uses her skills with words to communicate thoughts on this subject so very clearly and eloquently.

IHeartSusanDey · 28/06/2020 18:09

That man is diabolical. A shitty little crapstain. Bindel is absolutely right in saying his evil misogyny is off the scale.

JK Rowling is a giant. A far, far better human being than that man will ever be.

BaronessWrongCrowd · 28/06/2020 18:09

JK if you are reading this, thank you ❤️.
