Has been suspended from twitter. He has been a great ally - as you can imagine there is a bit of a party going on over there.

Bloody hell - Twitter banning the term 'groomer' and people that use it - while not afaik doing much to detect and ban groomers (correct me if I'm wrong on that) is appalling.Shock

Wtf is their justification for banning the word 'groomer'?

Thanks to Glinner.

PinkSquash · 27/06/2020 08:22

Sorry that the TRAs have tried to silence you Glinner, all they have is attack, their desperation for no debate is astounding
Thank you for standing up.

MMM1969 · 27/06/2020 08:22

@bakingberry

Am I the only one that finds it odd that when a man gets kicked off twitter for hate speech he runs to a woman's only space to have a cry about it? I though he was an advocate of people finding their own spaces?
This thread is about Feminism, correct? He didn’t come here to cry about it, he came here to let feminists know, because he’s been fighting with feminists, and is a feminist ally.
Prawnofthepatriarchy · 27/06/2020 08:21

Horrified by this. Thank you for all you do for women, Glinner, and please look after yourself. The sheer injustice can wreak havoc on your mental health. Brew Flowers

@glinner has sacrificed a huge amount to shine a spotlight on these issues. I especially appreciated him challenging his famous, blue tick, media mates whenever they parroted TRA crap for likes.

I hope he can take a bit of time to relax and spend with the family. I can't imagine how exhausting it must be fighting this on Twitter all day every day.

TipseyTorvey · 27/06/2020 08:19

Another vote of support for glinner. I have been posting on twitter about this in support of Maya and JKR. The refusal to have reasoned debate is almost childlike. So good to see the wider world waking up to this bizarre religion where people with penises can call themselves women but women aren't allowed to call themselves women????

PurpleCrowbarWhereIsLangCleg · 27/06/2020 08:16

Shows they're panicking, Glinner.

Puuuulllll!

Needmoresleep · 27/06/2020 08:15

Friday and Saturday nights can be a favourite time for new posters determined to tell us how to think. Even before lockdown when there were actual places people could go to.

Banning the word groomer. What about known phenomena like ‘grooming gangs’ that Everton the Twitter wokerai should be concerned about?

Floisme · 27/06/2020 08:15

Very sorry to hear this glinner. Thank you for everything you've done, and I hope you're ok.

Anoualler · 27/06/2020 08:14

‘Am I the only one that finds it odd that when a man gets kicked off twitter for hate speech he runs to a woman's only space to have a cry about it? I though he was an advocate of people finding their own spaces’

He knows the crowd here and the calibre of response he’ll get either way so it’s not odd in the slightest when you think about it.

MMM1969 · 27/06/2020 08:13

He has been a force fighting for women’s rights and single sex spaces and trying to raise awareness about self ID and gender ideology. The link to his post here is not working and all I see is a blank screen, but he has a web site which many of you may find interesting if you are at all GC. I just checked to see if he had uploaded a message there about his suspension from Twitter, but I didn’t see anything. Perhaps he will do that later. Anyway, the web site address is below:

@happydappy2

So someone at twitter is not allowing tweeters to use the word groomer, how illuminating. I think this highlights exactly what certain men are determined to do-groom children, in plain sight, yet stop people talking about it.
But afaik they continue to allow the accounts of MAPs (aka paedophiles) to stand. So actual groomers are ok, it's just the word "groomer" that must be used. Funny, that. As with all these things the question one should always ask is "cui bono: who benefits?"
Helmetbymidnight · 27/06/2020 08:10

huge thank yous to @glinner Flowers

hes done soo much on shining a light on this movement. i think the battle is moving away from twitter now anyway and has reached the main-stream (in part of course to his work in exposing it.)

NotBadConsidering · 27/06/2020 08:10

Twitter is full of porn and paedophilia masquerading as “minor attracted persons” Angry now the word “groomer” is banned. Says it all.

Winesalot · 27/06/2020 08:08

Not really. His experience with twitter has been shared by many others including prominent feminists.

And I think you will find he has made his ‘own space’.

SerenityNowwwww · 27/06/2020 08:04

Not really - he would often pop on here to comment and give updates. It’s not only women on here anyway. And he was defending women’s spaces. What’s the issue?

BaronessWrongCrowd · 27/06/2020 08:04

Defending women's rights is 'hate speech' now is it? Really?

bakingberry · 27/06/2020 08:03

BaronessWrongCrowd · 27/06/2020 08:02

Thanks @glinner. Twitter is a cesspit, fast turning into an intolerant echo chamber.

ElaineMarieBenes · 27/06/2020 08:00

Another vote of thanks to @glinner

SparklingLime · 27/06/2020 07:58

Yes, thanks Glinner for being so incredibly persistent in standing up for women. I don’t need an ally to be perfect. You’ve been bloody brave.

jmcnam · 27/06/2020 07:55

I want to thank Graham for everything he's done on this subject and sticking up for women - he isn't transphobic at all. It's a subject that's hard to get your head around but hopefully the tide is turning. The fanatics have taken over Twitter and I just hope they don't do the same here.

Campervan69 · 27/06/2020 07:54

Thanks @glinner

You are the bravest man on Twitter.

They are really showing what horrendous people they are.

CaveMum · 27/06/2020 07:53

Here to show my support. Thank you Glinner:
