The ever entertaining TRA power couple Fox and Owl were apparently represented by the same agents as the wonderful Ms Rowling.

They, along with some bloke called Drew Davies, have severed ties because the agents refused to issue a public statement slagging off their biggest client.

Being bastions of professionalism they left by telling the guardian.

It's not really 'as women', though, is it? It's the trappings of femininity. Fetishised aspects of (in the literal sense) gender.

We really do need to dismantle all this nonsense about how men and women should act according to sex.

When will men start to say - we are happy to accept all males in our spaces, we don't mind what you wear, we don't care how you act. When will men stand up and denounce some of the pernicious stereotypes that cause them so much pain?

Men, if you're reading, please, start to widen the bandwidth of being male.

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 25/06/2020 10:52

Absolutely!

There is a probably a bunch load of new AGP subsets now, thanks to the internet 😱

Datun · 25/06/2020 10:44

Fionne has a theory that even HSTS have a kind of autogynephila anyway (falling in love with the idea of themselves as women).

I believe a Blanchard confirmed that actually.

That both kinds were sexually motivated.

So HSTS were still sexually motivated, but in a slightly different way, in that they wanted to attract straight men. So less about how they present, and more about how to get who they want by the way they present.

I can think of at least two prominent transactivists who are like this. And very insistent that the men they are interested in/attract, are straight.

Blanchard could probably do with another 20 years of study, to be honest. Since there are so many transwomen now, his typology probably needs a lot of tweaking.

@TheProdigalKittensReturn

You're probably seeing the difference between AGP and HSTS there.

I dunno, I've known some really beautiful straight men who have a very feminine way of presenting themselves too. I can't think of a "kind" way to say this, but it almost seems like it's the gap between how one wants to look and how one actually looks that's driving some of the very angry, hostile behavior from the people who just won't ever look like that.

This ^

Fionne has a theory that even HSTS have a kind of autogynephila anyway (falling in love with the idea of themselves as women).

I suspect that the worst of the AGPs behaviour is motivated by the terrible combo of being enraged with envy at boring old-cunty women whilst simultaneously wanting to have sex with women.

So, some nicer AGPs don’t have much of the envy bit.
And some awful HSTS do.
But HSTS are never quite as bad as AGPs because they don’t have the combo of envy AND sexual attraction.

There is a very sweet seeming young chap on YouTube at present who is a self-reported AGP who realises it’s a problem and has sought therapy rather than transition. He’s young and pretty and would be at least as ‘passable’ as the average HSTS but he has the self awareness to know that it’s not going to lead to healthy relationships with women. I admire his insight and honesty. Will dig out a link in a bit.

Information might lead to dangerous levels of thinking.

The speaker does something characteristic here of so many activist extremists in betraying, yet again, that they don't think of other people as autonomous independent units with minds and lives of their own: they see other people as empty vessels to be programmed, and those resistant to this are malfunctions. The speaker also does not see other people as equally real or human as they see themselves. There is a real problem here. When people with a real inability to think from an equal perspective of others, or understand and accept that others have different lives, needs and feelings to themselves, the information they give to form policy may be very valuable in reflecting their personal experience but it has to be put in this clear light of what is missing from it, and balance applied from other sources.

CodenameVillanelle · 24/06/2020 20:27

@2Rebecca

HSTS?
Homosexual transsexuals as opposed to autogynephiles who are usually heterosexual possibly with a fetish for sex with males from a 'sissy' role
SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 24/06/2020 20:17

I don't think we women should be taking information from anywhere or anyone, personally. We should just wait for Ferret and Ostrich or the good doctor to tell us what to think on twitter.

Information might lead to dangerous levels of thinking. Best just make do with mindless, repetitive chanting.

LillianBland · 24/06/2020 20:12

@MsMarvellous

So we are only suppose to take information from the people with an huge invested interest and clear agenda and not from scientists and professionals in a variety of arena. Ooooookkkkkkaaaaaayyyyy
And definitely never, ever listen to those people whose rights are being adversely affected. Women, adult human females, the 51% of the population.

I forgot that I linked to that one already, sigh, too much going on.

2Rebecca · 24/06/2020 19:23

HSTS?

Datun · 24/06/2020 19:16

@picklemewalnuts

Speaking of Fionne, why is it the most beautiful feminine presenting men accept that they are men? Thinking of that Scottish makeup artist, and Fionne. And maybe Rose Dawn? I can't remember their name.

That's irrelevant I know. Just musing quietly to myself.

generating her opinions from sources in non-transgender circles.

I wasn't aware that fox had decreed that all the 'choke to death on my dick' people weren't actually trans?

Because, right now, that's where an awful lot of people are getting their opinion of trans people.

Are they not the right kind of trans people?

She was going out on the razz with Fionne Orlander. Is Fionne not the right kind of trans person either?

It's so confusing.

So there is another subset of trans people that Fox is demanding J. K. Rowling listens to? Before she is allowed to form an opinion about what constitutes a woman?

LillianBland · 24/06/2020 17:08

I just think that if she opened her eyes and saw that transgender women are women then we’d be able to move forward.

Well, that’s went down well with The Times’ readers. I think this is one fox, that just doesn’t know when to stop digging. 🤣

SisterWendyBuckett · 24/06/2020 17:05

They will be alright. You don’t need an agent for non fiction.

Non fiction Hmm

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 24/06/2020 16:49

The Times comments are heartening.

HopeClearwater · 24/06/2020 16:45

Fox Fisher was on Today prog on Radio 4 this morning approx 55 minutes in on the Sounds app. Not a very good speaker. Not even sure what he said about from TWAW

Lamahaha · 24/06/2020 16:40

You don't need an agent for anything, these days. You can always self-publish.

Siablue · 24/06/2020 16:37

Interestingly Evanna Lynch is also with the Blair Partnership. She has only published one essay but it says she is writing a book. I wonder if JKR helped her get an agent.

I wonder if Fox and Owl contacted all the other authors at the agency and asked them to be part of their protest. There are some famous names (Sir Chris Hoy). It does sound like they did expect everyone to walk out on their agent with them.

They will be alright. You don’t need an agent for non fiction. I don’t have one. I know people who got published by their publisher without one.

LetGoOfTheLittleDistractions · 24/06/2020 16:34

@JemimaShore

Maybe Fish is Fox's nickname at Pink News.

You can't identify out of sexist abuse from men, Fox, however much you wish you can.

I didn't even think of that! It wouldn't even surprise me.

Shock

That's really telling, if true.

SerenityNowwwww · 24/06/2020 16:33

Why is it not vixen / owl hen - sorry I forget which is which.
