A speech blasting denial of importance of sex. Worth a watch.

Thank you Senator Chandler!

I believe it got a great deal of positive coverage.

It also comes after some major flack to the Australian Academy of Science adopting ‘anyone who identifies’ as being a woman as a woman.

And this article from Pru Goward

www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.smh.com.au/national/feminists-like-jk-rowling-struggle-with-the-transgender-movement-but-they-should-not-be-silenced-20200610-p55173.html

It will be interesting to see how this continues to play out in the media.

Wow she was amazing. Her voice didn't even quiver, despite the topic and the potential abuse she might face. I hope she doesn't get any, obvs. Good on her though. You see, JKR has inspired a lot Women to be brave and speak up. Even I've been posting links and reports on my FB. JK gave me the guts to do it because she took one for the team and I'm proud to stand with her. 💪

Well done Senator Chandler! I wish I could think of a female MP in the New Zealand Parliament who would speak as forthrightly on this subject, but none come to mind more's the pity.

littlbrowndog · 20/06/2020 08:46

Plain speaking. Women’s rights should not be traded off fo4 diversity

Gunpowder · 20/06/2020 08:40

Igmum · 20/06/2020 08:40

“During Senate estimates both Sport Australia and the AHRC refused point blank to name the organisations they consulted with as part of developing these guidelines. When I queried them about the practical implications of the suggestions in the guidelines, both organisations were evasive.”
