Saw this on twitter. Did a search to see if it had already been mentioned on here without finding anything, but I'm not very proficient with the search engine. I'd missed it completely and the petition, which is closing soon, doesn't have anywhere near as many signatures as I would have expected, considering the consensus amongst the general public on the subject.
I've started a thread over at /Talk/petitions_noticeboard/ with a link to the petition, because we aren't allowed to post petitions on here.

We need more men to support their this, not just the wonderful Daley Thompson.

Signed and shared. A really important issue

Signed and bumping. It's disappointing this isn't gaining more traction. Sport is one of the more obvious and less controversial arguments. It's a shame not to see more signatures

Signed. Shouldn’t really be having to petition for this.

Markus Rehm is a Paralympic long-jumper. He was not allowed to compete in the Olympics because his blades were perceived as giving him an unfair advantage (he, naturally, disagreed).

Now, I’m not saying this is an analogous situation... only, it does look rather analogous, doesn’t it?

I kind of disagree. TRAs should do the impartial, robust research that unequivocally proves that men aren’t stronger than women and that the way we have segregated humans since the dawn of time is wrong, then submit it to the IOC, then consider it. It shouldn’t be up to the IOC or anyone else to do research, except in the name of impartiality, perhaps. Do that, and we will be waiting for a very long time, because you can’t prove such a stupid idea.

Of course I would support this though, as no rules should be changed at all.

Sharron Davies's twitter has a link if that helps anyone locate it.

@gailforce1

I have tried to sign but link did not work properly.
Took me two goes. Second time round I searched "women's sport IOC petition" and got to their homepage, then to the petition from there.
