Just wondering if anyone's seen this on Twitter. Quite a funny, interesting thread, eg

#AskDanielRadcliffe When was the last time you showed solidarity with trans activists by dating a trans woman, and what steps are you taking to unlearn your genital preferences?

Is the first one that showed up when I clicked. Sorry if it's old news.

Of course black trans rights matter... Who said they didn't?

TalkingtoLangClegintheDark · 15/06/2020 22:18

I don’t think Smile has any idea how they come across, do they? They think they’re ablaze with righteous indignation and flŷing the flag for truth and social justice everywhere... no idea they’re coming across as irrationally ragey, misogynist, missing every point that anyone else makes and just... inchoherent. To put it kindly.

Illusion meets reality. Ouch.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/06/2020 22:18

Who has said that they don't matter? Not me.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/06/2020 22:17

What a fantastic role model for girls. All children, in fact.

Any woman can speak on women's rights. You, me, Angela Davis, JK Rowling. No one has more credibility when they're speaking about their own lived experience.

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 15/06/2020 22:14

I really do not think you can advocate for gay people or BAME

We’re feminists. Feminism includes lesbians and women of colour.

Why would we advocate for gay and BAME people as a whole group? Feminism is about liberating women from patriarchy, not advocating for all the bits of patriarchy that aren’t run by heterosexual white men.

JemimaShore · 15/06/2020 22:13

She can't be criticised for being so incredibly successful she earned all that money can she? Surely you're not arguing that?

I mean, you realise that women here support all victims of dv - regardless of whether we agree with their political views - don't you?

You're sounding spiteful and bitter now - I for one am pleased to have JK Rowling as a role model for my DD to look up to.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 15/06/2020 22:12

Such a shame he deleted his account Grin

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/06/2020 22:12

You clearly don't like JK Rowling and resent her phenomenal success. Which is your prerogative. Not sure what the point of any of it is here though.

Come on then, please put the Angela Davis argument as to why we shouldn't advocate for female rights.

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 15/06/2020 22:08

Plus the US has removed trans peoples rights to health care.

Obama made a change, the courts immediately halted that change (so the change never actually occurred) and Trump reversed the (theoretical) change.

Thus US trans people’s material access to healthcare has not actually changed. You should read beyond a headline.

I’m not an American but if I were I would support Medicare for all (all means including trans people).

Ereshkigalangcleg · 15/06/2020 22:08

Is this the level you always resort to? Bizarre misinterpretations of other people's posts, goadiness and glossing over misogyny, on the Feminism and Women's Rights board, to dismiss other women's voices?

If you want to discuss what Angela Davis opines about it, go ahead. But we're not all going to bow down and fawn over what she says.

She's wealthy because she is an incredibly successful writer Smile - never forget that she fled an abusive relationship practically penniless. She also happens to have given millions to charities, and set up her own.

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 15/06/2020 22:03

So no Gay people or women? No BAME are women? Your myopic view is blinding you. Only the Trans issue matters obviously.

Have you been sniffing glue?

Gay female people and BAME female people are included in female spaces and feminist action. Trans female people are too (but they tend to opt out).

The trans issue matters because we don’t accept that humans can change sex and we don’t want male people in single-sex spaces designated for females.

Smile, you are now just incoherent. You were funny and incoherent for a while but it's just tedious now.
