Just seen this on Twitter.

For those who like their Ginger Shampoo, can I suggest MooGoo.

Also, Aveeno is a good replacement for their Shea butter.

Other thoughts welcome. Feel free to suggest other ideas.

Thanks! I'll check that out.

bluefoxmug · 13/06/2020 20:25

dr organics from holland&barrets have a great tea tree range.

just5morepeas · 13/06/2020 20:23

Damn it. Looks like I need a new place to buy tea tree moisturiser and Xmas gift sets!

YourVagesty · 13/06/2020 20:15

I've tried to leave reviews for the beard oil and for some other random item. Neither is showing up. I reckon they've started moderating.

Nice work my fellow menstruators!

PhreshOffTheRunway · 13/06/2020 20:14

@TheWayOfTheWorld
Don't worry, you weren't a coward. There was no point in trying to have a discussion because people were bandwagoning.
I did actually wonder if I was being a transphobe so I followed a link that someone posted to a Twitter response to JK's essay. Surprise, it was a man responding to her.
I ended up spending 2 days reading about everything and finding a gender critical feminist reddit page... (reddit also has a good skincare community that's a bit more science-based) and now I have my own opinion haha.

I support trans people's rights to live free and without fear, but I don't support misogyny or the erasure of sex. On that I agree with @Icantreachthepretzels's great post on gender and sex.

PhreshOffTheRunway · 13/06/2020 20:01
@PhreshOffTheRunway - wait, you WERE thrown out of the group for objecting to the misogyny and patronising tone of TBS post? FFS.

All this nonsense about "educate yourself" - that's what we have been doing and why we object to what is going on.
I didn't even manage to read half the responses it came so fast! I deleted the post because I didn't want to be doxxed or threatened, and I didn't think it would create such a massive drama. I figured people would agree that TBS was being a dick and carry on.

I suppose being against misogyny is hate speech now so I was booted without an explanation.

MrsKypp · 13/06/2020 19:56

Dr Hauschka stuff is nice, and so is La Roche Posay.

LazyFace · 13/06/2020 19:55

Fucking hell. Most of my products are from Body Shop. Will have to look somewhere else pretty soon. Luckily this came out before I've done my big online shopping.
Menstruators.... ffs

MrsKypp · 13/06/2020 19:49

@PicsInRed

"Menstruators"

The body shop can fuck right off.

I’m going to have to tell DH as he likes their shampoo.

Funnily enough DS found a bar of their soap in the bathroom yesterday and said ‘oh I like this - can you get some more?’ I said ‘nope - no more Body Shop...’

1WildTeaParty · 13/06/2020 19:30

Thanks for the suggested replacement products OP. I'll try Aveeno

TheWayOfTheWorld · 13/06/2020 19:26

@PhreshOffTheRunway the pile on was disgraceful and I'm sorry I was too much of a coward - I kept typing a response and then hesitating, I was trying to find the collection of vile responses (you know, the usual "suck my lady dick", "die in a fire TERF") to put up their pipe to smoke. But NONE of them ever say anything against this hate - how are we the ones hating, we are always too polite and understanding, I don't see trans people or their chums being threatened with violence, rape and death - the common tools of oppression used by violent men against women 🤔

Lordfrontpaw · 13/06/2020 19:19

And you just can’t get a hold of anyone there right now. I wonder why?

Porridgeoat · 13/06/2020 19:13

That body shop reply is so depressing. Just awful

If you're on Twitter and want to be outraged here is the lady who received that awful reply

OldeMagick · 13/06/2020 18:28

@Skyliner001

Oh love the body shop! That reminds me I must put an order inSmile
Good idea. That chest won't wax itself
PhreshOffTheRunway · 13/06/2020 18:26

@TheWayOfTheWorld

I'm so depressed. I am on a skincare group on FB (Caroline Hirons) and somebody posted up about TBS bullying JK. Cue the enslaught of posts calling her a TERF and a transphobe before comments were closed (not before a mod came on to agree) and then the whole thread was deleted.

Now today they are all falling over themselves to talk about TBS and what products they recommend.

I'm ashamed I didn't pipe up but my office is so woke I don't dare 😔

Hi TheWayOfTheWorld,

That was me! I'm glad I found this thread where the discussion is a bit more nuanced, and some of these posts have been amazing!
I have nothing against trans people, I was just disgusted by the misogyny in the TBS post.

One person from the group PMed me with something rude, however I got a really nice message from another woman who was annoyed at us being silenced.
I was thrown out of the group but that's fine, I don't want to be part of that echo-chamber anyway. Good luck to them.

slipperywhensparticus · 13/06/2020 18:24

What puzzles me is they have ranges dedicated to men and gifts for him and her but they dont believe they exist so....

That reply has left me speechless. Patronising sods.

slipperywhensparticus · 13/06/2020 18:15

I dont understand why they feel the need to comment? they are floggers of body butter not important in the grand scheme of things

YouokHun · 13/06/2020 18:12

And use of the phrase “reaching out”

The Body Shop has fallen
Lordfrontpaw · 13/06/2020 18:02

Their online chat is switched off now. It’s supposed to be on until 9pm but has been mysteriously buggered all day.

Are they doing an audible?

1WildTeaParty · 13/06/2020 18:00

Bye Bye Bodyshop - what a shame you feel the need to jump on the bandwagon. I don't want poor politics mixed into my lotions and potions.
