Just seen this on Twitter.

For those who like their Ginger Shampoo, can I suggest MooGoo.

Also, Aveeno is a good replacement for their Shea butter.

Other thoughts welcome. Feel free to suggest other ideas.

I've responded on twitter. Won't be buying from them again. Someone has posted the CEO email / contact info if people want to express their disappointment.

Today 19:48XDownwiththissortofthingX
And the net tightens that little bit more around the transphobes

Good on you Body Shop!

Eh? Are you reading the same shit I am?

You're not one of those them there wafflers with nothings substantial to say are you?

Willow2017 · 10/06/2020 20:50

Aveeno is a dreadful replacement as they still test on animals for all their products. Whereas bodyshop don't. (I realise this isn't the main concern of your post but it might be be others!)
Once they sold out to L'oreal they joined europes biggest animal testing company. Nope they have no moral high ground.

MorganKitten · 10/06/2020 20:49

@Thisismytimetoshine not at all, I support my friends who have made the choice to transition and understand how difficult that can be.

@FourDecades

I seem to have completely missed something. What has JK done that's upset bodyshop?
For daring to be a woman wanting to use the word 'women' describe women's biology.

@Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons

They’ve lost their fucking minds Confused surely nobody can justify this as a marketing move never mind the “being a decent person” move.

For people saying they can’t see it it’s all there but you’re probably on a block list that they’re using - go incognito.

There are 2 BodyShop accounts - one is the U.K. version. I assume this one is the corporate one.

I was happy when they ditched stonewall a few years back. What a bunch of weasels.

Focusanddetermination · 10/06/2020 20:48

My money goes to the first company that actually speaks in support of JK, I'll probably be a loyal lifelong customer.

Lordfrontpaw · 10/06/2020 20:47

Oger supports lush too. Nah.

stella47 · 10/06/2020 20:46

You know what gave me period shame? It wasn't the p word. It was not being able to afford towels at secondary school, having to use loo role, realising during PE it was not staying attached - I won't go into details in case of fetish hunters but lots of unpleasant stuff to deal with.
But hey, give girls a bag!

EmpressLangClegInChair · 10/06/2020 20:46

I wonder if Lush will have the (butter)balls to come out in support of Rowling.

No chance. Lush support Mermaids.

Like the look of wild-sage , thanks for the tip .

Sexnotgender · 10/06/2020 20:43

@listsandbudgets no lush are ridiculously woke. They had Ogre in a store in Canada for a photo op. I boycott them too.

stella47 · 10/06/2020 20:43

"Drop the P word to end period shame" - how thick are women around the world that they didn't think of that, could have saved themselves from dying in menstrual huts, missing out on education, etc.
And how fucking rude and tone deaf to send it to JKR.

thatwouldbeanecumenicalmatter · 10/06/2020 20:43

@MorganKitten

Good for them for not being closeminded
About the realities of women's biology?
GreyGardens88 · 10/06/2020 20:42

Isn't Body Shop on its last legs anyway. Perhaps an employee knows they're about to go into administration and is trying it on

TitianaTitsling · 10/06/2020 20:42

Also just purchased some jk Rowling books (even though we have the full Set including my 'house' edition 🐍🐍 geeky and proud!)

TooOldForSims · 10/06/2020 20:42

@listsandbudgets

I wonder if Lush will have the (butter)balls to come out in support of Rowling. I hope so because I really like their dream cream and I don't want to have to find an alternative...

that said I'm still a bit miffed with them for their ill convceived attack on the police a few years ago

I doubt they will sadly. They are very woke.

However if they pull a similar stunt to The Body Shop (and I have a horrible feeling they will) then I will be done with them. I say that as a huge Lushie who spends a lot of money in there.

Thisismytimetoshine · 10/06/2020 20:41

Emailed. God, I hope this sinks them, the utter shitehawks.

Divoc2020 · 10/06/2020 20:41

Here's the email of The Body Shop CEO

I'm sure he'd like to hear how much we won't be spending with them from now on.

HermioneWeasley · 10/06/2020 20:40

I buy my soap from thr Yorkshire soap company - they smell wonderful

Enderthedragon · 10/06/2020 20:40

They thought they were going to get loads of tweets with GIFs of Meryl Streep standing up and clapping, oh dear! 😂
