Just seen this on Twitter.

For those who like their Ginger Shampoo, can I suggest MooGoo.

Also, Aveeno is a good replacement for their Shea butter.

Other thoughts welcome. Feel free to suggest other ideas.

@Skyliner001

Oh love the body shop! That reminds me I must put an order inSmile
You stand with the bullying of victims of domestic violence? What a peach you are.
Oncewasblueandyellowtwo · 12/06/2020 19:08

lord

I'm just about to have a glass myself.

Is it wine time yet? Thank god. I’ve been on to chatbot 1000 at Audible for nearly 3 hours now, I need a drink.

BubblyBarbara · 12/06/2020 19:01

It’s alright, our antediluvian opinions are welcomed on here Wine

TheWayOfTheWorld · 12/06/2020 16:34

I'm so depressed. I am on a skincare group on FB (Caroline Hirons) and somebody posted up about TBS bullying JK. Cue the enslaught of posts calling her a TERF and a transphobe before comments were closed (not before a mod came on to agree) and then the whole thread was deleted.

Now today they are all falling over themselves to talk about TBS and what products they recommend.

I'm ashamed I didn't pipe up but my office is so woke I don't dare 😔

SirVixofVixHall · 12/06/2020 16:15

Body Shop are done for I feel. Tough economic times, no business can afford to exclude a large number of customers.
This political posturing by shops is ridiculous, but also sinister. You have a different political opinion , we won’t sell to you ?

Lordfrontpaw · 12/06/2020 16:02

No that won't work.

You see.... they are busy pushing out very worth pieces on domestic violence, period poverty BLM and to a lesser degree Pride (because that's not a cause any more, its just lobbying/marketing puff). And every time they do some peaky women keep popping us to ask about the said tweet and the 'likes' that some person who was manning the twitter account managed to include. Some have even taken screenshots.

Like Audible - but the tortoise approach doesn't work in these modern times of social media.

That reminds me...

Doyoumind · 12/06/2020 15:50

Both Body Shop accounts have gone silent the last couple of days. They are probably hoping they can keep quiet and it will disappear. Absolute cowards to neither reconfirm their view or admit to a mistake.

PamDenick · 12/06/2020 14:37

When Rosa Parkes had had enough of being disregarded, it wasn’t just the refusal to give up her seat that made a difference.
Ultimately it was economics: by a whole community boycotting the buses things changed.
By a whole community refusing to buy Body Shop tat, it would make a difference.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/06/2020 09:30

We had a thread on them a while back, featuring their "Naked" campaigns when staff were "encouraged" to wander the streets wearing just an apron handing out leaflets

Oooo! I hope they start employing fully intact male-bodied TWs to do that.

I'd be prepared to pay to see it.

jakeyboy1 · 12/06/2020 00:54

Just when you think 2020 can't get weirder!
As a marketer I can't see any positivity in your brand slagging someone off/bullying.
As a woman who received an order from them today I am horrified.

littlebillie · 11/06/2020 23:08

This is so laughable

Mockers I think the naked thing was Lush wasn't it? There were certainly some long threads on here about them.

Flipflopflapflip · 11/06/2020 20:29

Utterly shameful. I won’t be shopping there again.

Lordamighty · 11/06/2020 20:19

Just unsubscribed from emails & told them why. I hope they don’t survive this economic disaster, they don’t deserve to.

@Snorkers

Next the Body Shop will be telling us to PUT THE LOTION IN THE BASKET
...Or it gets the hose again!

Another teenage memory binned. Loved Dewberry and White Musk perfume when I was young and despite it becoming corporate I still had relatively good vibes from The Body Shop and would definitely buy products as gifts, especially for my husband.

This is everything Anita Roddick was against.

Never again.

BOYCOTT The Body Shop.

acatcalledjohn · 11/06/2020 18:10

I have emailed them to close my account and remove all my details, and why.

I wonder how long it will take them to reply.

Lordfrontpaw · 11/06/2020 17:28

Has anyone heard from them? Their online customer services appear to be outsourced to a 3rd party so done expect much from them. Although that does raise an interesting GDPR question...

Thinkingabout1t · 11/06/2020 17:23

Damn. I've shopped at Body Shop for decades. I've stayed with them out of habit and loyalty really. There are plenty of ethical alternatives now. Even Superdrug and M&S now do cruelty-free toiletries.

So, to hell with Body Shop's hypocrisy, it's time I tried some of the others. I'll unsubscribe from their marketing emails too. Why do companies that rely on women's money think it's ok to put us down?

Lordfrontpaw · 11/06/2020 17:06

hyenas - better than weasels I suppose (more ugly but I just like the sound of the word 'weasels')

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 11/06/2020 17:03

@Lordfrontpaw

Yasmin alibhai-brown *@y*_alibhai #standwithjkrowling back off you hyenas. Misogyny dressed up as righteousness stinks. No Body Shop products henceforth for me either.
Oooh I’ve always liked her
