Pro-woman is just a euphemism for transphobic

Littlemeadow123 · 10/06/2020 12:54

Exactly that.

Transgender people are not eroding our rights as women. Although, the people making such spiteful and ignorant comments and talking about trying to stop them getting recognized as women are eroding their rights to be accepted, respected equal. Do you all honestly think that by speaking out AGAINST transgender people, you are going to be declared as heroes?

And what happened to be kind?

Burgundy Ooh good, sounds like you've already talked about solutions to our concerns before so maybe your a tad jaded by it all. Care to share? Do you for example, agree with the totally batshit idea earlier that our young girls are transphobic if they're uncomfortable being in a changing room by themselves with a person with a penis?

Or would you agree with me that if a TW can come in so can all men because as we're so often reminded NAMALT?

I am a feminist who will put the safety, dignity, and boundaries of biological women and girls first every time.

Wrong side of history my arse.

Winesalot · 10/06/2020 16:48

@NekoShiro

Yeah I haven't read a lot of the comments in the feminism board, I don't have the free leisure time to endlessly scroll through utter garbage, it's just random people throwing their random opinions out into the void, and I've been trying to talk to people about what the issue is with trans people but I just get people frothing at the mouth about how their impeding our rights, when I say rights I mean human rights. Not male or female rights, the rights to live on this earth as a human being with dignity and respect, not to get treated like they are litterally eroding womans rights and that they are a parasite in the cultural movements.

I would love for my eyes to be opened from all the lies I've been told but none of you are doing it, none of you can actually give me anything concrete other than you're scared and confused.

NekoShiro. Have you ever even looked that the links that are contained within these threads? Links that I am sure posters have referred to that have plenty of evidence based and balanced legal opinion.

Not male or female rights, the rights to live on this earth as a human being with dignity and respect, Rights that no one on this board denies should be theirs.

not to get treated like they are litterally eroding womans rights I know that you had posters say to you before, this is not just about toilets! Have you read any of the threads about women's sports, women's shortlists, female employment rights that were put into law to prevent people from discriminating against females for their biology (and these laws STILL get abused now). This is but a small section of the impacts. Or do you honestly believe this do not exist because it has simply never effected you?

and that they are a parasite in the cultural movements. As long as this 'culture' does not continue to make being female a performance, or mean that gender stereotypes continue to be a 'thing' and continue to actually cause such great harm to our daughter's and son's as well as us. Then why would people say they are parasites?

Burgundy1844 · 10/06/2020 16:48

@ItsLateHumpty not all of Mumsnet fortunately. It’s just some of the people who seem to spend their whole lives in this particular part. But as I said, I’d rather they did it here than out in the real world.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 10/06/2020 16:47

Bit of a mystery why anybody even bothers coming here, if they find it so Shock, isn't it? There's only three of us, with different names, and we're just boring silly old mums, anyway. You'd think they'd leave us to it.

FliesandPies · 10/06/2020 16:47

*Thing is that these threads have become a national byword for intolerance and transphobia.

Yes, you certainly sound very 'reasonable'.

FatalSecrets · 10/06/2020 16:46

Whenever I see these threads they’re always exactly the same and always completely

If only people would answer the questions directed at them, right?

LastRoloIsMine · 10/06/2020 16:45

Then back to the (mercifully) more tolerant real world. Whenever I see these threads they’re always exactly the same and always completely

But the real world isn't more tolerant is it Burgundy1844
If it were TW could use the facilities that are male specific.
Woman wouldn't be paid less.
Or murdered more.
Or raped more.
Baby girls wouldn't be tossed in dumps because they are girls.
There would be more women in power.
Young girls aged 12 would not be married to men aged 40 plus.

What you want is for women to be more tolerant of mens wants and forget our own needs. Where is your tolerance for us?

SarahMcDonald · 10/06/2020 16:45

If anything this feminist board has stuck me more into my current thinking, let tranwomen into female spaces if that's where they feel most comfortable, and if you don't, then try on your clothes elsewhere, use a locked door cubicle in the swimming area. People shouldn't feel shame or weird about nude bodies, male, female, intersex, all bodies are beautiful and nakedness should be normalised

That’s a lovely sentiment. But I know lots of women who have been in prison and they don’t want to be accommodated with male sex offenders, even if that’s where these men feel more comfortable.

Should I tell them they are wrong to feel shame or afraid or weird about it, because all bodies are beautiful ?

FreeKitties · 10/06/2020 16:45

OP I gave up giving a shit if people thought I was ‘kind’ a while ago, it started around the time i was fucked over in my job because I had the temerity to get pregnant.

‘be kind’ is shorthand for ‘shut up and move over’, so my response to your ‘be kind’ is a simple no.

Burgundy1844 · 10/06/2020 16:45

No @datun obviously not and I suspect (or rather hope) that you know what a ridiculous point that is.

Enderthedragon · 10/06/2020 16:44

I know right - people really do hate women getting together and talking, it's a disgrace!

Meanwhile the sort of abuse directed at both JK Rowling and Munroe Bergdorf, from men, goes largely unnoticed.

Funny that, isn't it?

Datun · 10/06/2020 16:44

Thing is that these threads have become a national byword for intolerance and transphobia. Fortunately it’s relatively contained and for reasonable people it affords an opportunity to pop in occasionally and stare in disbelief at the views of certain posters who claim to be feminists.

Astonishing how little effect we have, and yet how much attention we attract. And how people hang out here all the live long day..complaining that we have no effect.

Do you mean all of MN or just FWR?

Datun · 10/06/2020 16:41

Sorry choke on their dick. (a little bit full of himself, aren't they)

DickKerrLadies · 10/06/2020 16:41

I know, but one day I do hope I'll get some answers and people can have a different conversation.

Datun · 10/06/2020 16:40

Grey Burgundy, or Nekko

Do you think the person who told J. K. Rowling to suck their dick until she dies, should be able to get changed with my 13-year-old daughter, if they say they are a woman?

DickKerrLadies · 10/06/2020 16:40

That post wasn't actually a reply to sojo, I don't know why it's quoted Confused Sorry!

DickKerrLadies · 10/06/2020 16:39

@Sojo88

I agree with you, OP
I had an amusing conversation with my 7 year old this morning. I asked him if he'd written anything in the 20 minutes I had to spend with his sibling on their work. After I got no answer I said that I would take his lack of a reply to mean that no, he hasn't done any work.

When he protested why I would assume such a thing I told him that if he'd done it then he'd tell me much quicker rather than stalling. Did his protesting mean he had actually done some work? No. No it didn't.

LastRoloIsMine · 10/06/2020 16:38

GreytExpectations

Please could you tell me if any of the following are transphobic and explain why they are/are not. I would appreciate your view to help me understand.

Humans cannot change sex.
Only those born female menstruate or can become pregnant. ( i didn't say all females i said only females)
Only those born male produce sperm ( again i didn't say all males i said only males)
A penis is male genitalia
A vagina is female genitalia
Females are raped murdered and abused in higher numbers than males and males are the largest percentage of the perpetrators.
Females need sex based protections in sport, health care, politics, employment and criminal justice system.

I know I am asking you to respond and you can just ignore me so many thanks.

popehilarious · 10/06/2020 16:36

Greyt I've seen you refer to 'pregnant women' in other posts so don't pretend you aren't transphobic.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 10/06/2020 16:36

Bloody hell I'm hitting the gin. It's happy hour somewhere.

teawamutu · 10/06/2020 16:35

@Michelleoftheresistance

Or - there could be a third way. Involving kindness and inclusiveness on both sides to recognise there are aspects of being a transwoman that no female human can fully understand, and aspects of being a female human that no transwoman can fully understand.

And ensuring all the needs of both groups are met, by continuing to provide some female only spaces, resources, protections alongside additional mixed sex women's provisions. What a lovely, inclusive and tolerant world that would be.

Works for me.
Datun · 10/06/2020 16:34

And no one answers.

It's like taking candy from a baby 🤣

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 10/06/2020 16:33

I'm a woman that does not want to be close to a naked man in a small space who isn't my husband.

I'm clearly deranged and very mean.

But seriously Grey, how is my discomfort with this extreme?
