Pro-woman is just a euphemism for transphobic

Exactly that.

Transgender people are not eroding our rights as women. Although, the people making such spiteful and ignorant comments and talking about trying to stop them getting recognized as women are eroding their rights to be accepted, respected equal. Do you all honestly think that by speaking out AGAINST transgender people, you are going to be declared as heroes?

And what happened to be kind?

Burgundy for a thread on a board you find comical it's an interesting choice for your very first post. I'm surprised and flattered that of all the the places you could have spent a few hours it's with us.

Admit it, you really quite like it here Wink Gin? > offers bottle

FantaOra · 10/06/2020 17:05

How can you tell you have met an open minded tolerant person?

They will start calling you a bigot five minutes after they have met you.

littlbrowndog · 10/06/2020 17:04

True that fed dogsbeg

We are like I dunno nectar to bees

LouHotel · 10/06/2020 17:04

@SarahMcDonald apologies quote fail.

RedDogsBeg · 10/06/2020 17:03

Datun Astonishing how little effect we have, and yet how much attention we attract. And how people hang out here all the live long day..complaining that we have no effect

but we absolutely must be shut down and shut up.

LouHotel · 10/06/2020 17:03

Oh good the attacks have begun now that they can’t solidify their accusations of transphobia.

@SarahMcDonald would you say that to a rape survivor or victim of domestic violence? Or should they just remove themselves from the normality of changing rooms/bathrooms/refuges because they haven’t quite been victimised enough.

OneEpisode · 10/06/2020 17:02

So Thing is that these threads have become a national byword for intolerance and transphobia. the same day BBC more or less, the fact checking/numbers program gave mumsnet all that kudos?

Enderthedragon · 10/06/2020 17:02

No @datun obviously not and I suspect (or rather hope) that you know what a ridiculous point that is.

So you don't think that Ms Choke on my Dick should be allowed in the women's changing rooms? But Ms Choke on my Dick is a woman isn't she, so we should be welcoming her with open arms? Isn't saying anything to the contrary transphobic, bigoted TERFery?

littlbrowndog · 10/06/2020 17:01

Am not a nutter. Be kind bunpot

ItsLateHumpty · 10/06/2020 17:01
@ItsLateHumpty not all of Mumsnet fortunately. It’s just some of the people who seem to spend their whole lives in this particular part. But as I said, I’d rather they did it here than out in the real world.
That’s interesting, and also for the people who say they get shouted down, and FWR is a minority view, an OP I read as less than pro woman / biology was started in AIBU, and whilst there are only 264 posts, the voting is def pro biology - and 1884 people have voted.

Also the MSM comments seem to be pro biology too. And pro biology is being described on this thread and others as transphobic.

Pro-woman is just a euphemism for transphobic
Burgundy1844 · 10/06/2020 17:01

You’ve got me @scrimpshaw the second. I think we should be seen and not heard. Kept out of the way, kept silent and kept meek Hmm

Enderthedragon · 10/06/2020 16:59

no not women, just bigots.

Can you please give some examples of the 'bigotry' on the FWR board?

TheHeathenOfSuburbia · 10/06/2020 16:59

@Burgundy1844

No *@datun* obviously not and I suspect (or rather hope) that you know what a ridiculous point that is.
Yes, was that seriously in response to Datun's question about Ms Choke On My Dick?
FatalSecrets · 10/06/2020 16:58

@Burgundy1844

Could you answer these please: -

Do you think people with a male physique should be allowed to compete in sports with women?

Do you think it is acceptable for a support group focussing on issues that are unique to biological women and incredibly distressing, should be forced to include transwomen for fear of causing offence?

Otherwise it might appear your motives are purely nefarious.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 10/06/2020 16:57

I’d rather they did it here than out in the real world

If any lurkers are in any doubt about what these posters want, this comment should show it for you quite clearly.

Women should be seen and not heard. Kept out of the way, kept silent and kept meek.

I don't really fancy gin tonight, tellmewhen I think I'll have some red wine, maybe a nice glass of Bunbury.

Michelleoftheresistance · 10/06/2020 16:55

How are you not showing bigotry when you are so determined that no woman here has anything just or worth listening to to say about the needs and rights of female humans?

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

RedDogsBeg · 10/06/2020 16:54

Which ought to be something we can all agree on, except neither ‘side’ has really covered itself in glory in this regard have they?

Which is the side making threats of rape and murder, die in a grease fire, choke on their dicks, making reports to employers, doxxing, trying to shut down the internet sites, demanding alteration of language, intimidation, attempting to shut down meetings, physically attacking meetings, stalking and harassing, no platforming, surreptitiously subverting legal protections by deliberately and falsely claiming an Act of Parliament says something it doesn't and training institutions using this falsehood.

Which side pointed out the problems that arise from the imposition of a change in law which removes rights from a group that hold a protected characteristic and requested access to the discussions, the chance to debate, the opportunity to put their point of view across?

Yeah, both sides are definitely as bad as each other.

Burgundy1844 · 10/06/2020 16:54

@Enderthedragon no not women, just bigots.

teawamutu · 10/06/2020 16:53

@Enderthedragon

If anything this feminist board has stuck me more into my current thinking, let tranwomen into female spaces if that's where they feel most comfortable, and if you don't, then try on your clothes elsewhere

So women can't use female changing rooms if they don't want to change near males? The males feelings come first, always, and if the women don't feel 'comfortable' then tough shit, go elsewhere? Wow, how feminist, how progressive, what a way to turn over thousands of years of men telling women what they can and can't do, who they can and can't be.

Great, isn't it? My observant Muslim friend's daughter had to stop going to the gym because a TW insisted going in the one women-only hour a week. But she should just suck it up and stop exercising, amirite?

Hang on Burgundy - did you just say that Datun's teenage daughter shouldn't have to get changed with Ms Choke On My Dick?

Because I think Ms COMD would think you were a terrible terf & all round bad person if you tried to stop them.

Michelleoftheresistance · 10/06/2020 16:52

stare in disbelief at the views -

such as female humans have needs too that are met by laws that shouldn't be removed? That solutions meaning male humans have their needs met at the expense of female humans are unjust and wrong?

Shocking stuff. #feministingallwrong

Enderthedragon · 10/06/2020 16:50

But as I said, I’d rather they did it here than out in the real world.

God yeah, women...with opinions... out in the real world. The very thought of it is enough to make anyone shudder.

midgebabe · 10/06/2020 16:49

When men stop ogling my clothed body then I might think about having fewer hang ups on nakedness

But until men behave better I will not be stripping off in front of them
