Exactly that.

Transgender people are not eroding our rights as women. Although, the people making such spiteful and ignorant comments and talking about trying to stop them getting recognized as women are eroding their rights to be accepted, respected equal. Do you all honestly think that by speaking out AGAINST transgender people, you are going to be declared as heroes?

And what happened to be kind?

@PurpleCrowbarWhereIsLangCleg

& I'm sure we all wish your sibling all the best, OP.
Yes
LastRoloIsMine · 10/06/2020 13:23

Why do males need to be recognised as women?

None of the sex laws for women protect males such as maternity laws for example. TW don't have the same health care needs women have.

I would never wish harm on any trans person but I don't understand why I should be forced to lie, to give up my rights to sex segregation and sex specific protections in law health care/employment/sports/politics so that a male can take them.

It has nothing to do with hate but everything to do with appropriation and theft of the female identity.

Lottapianos · 10/06/2020 13:23

'So you are suggesting fhat the whole #bekind thing was a load of rubbish? That we shouldn't treat other people kindly, or with respect? That if someone lives their life in a way that we don't like then we should respond with as much hate as we want? Wow.'

Yes, that's exactly why I'm saying Hmm what a genius you are. 'Wow' indeed.

And yes, the 'be kind' hashtag is a load if shit. 'Dont be an arsehole' hashtag would have been much better. There are plenty of situations where kindness is absolutely not the priority

BlackForestCake · 10/06/2020 13:23

Recognizing that not everyone who identifies as a woman is born with a vagina is not anti-woman.

It removes the meaning of the word woman.

Do you believe women are oppressed, OP?

If bodies are not the difference between men and women, what is?

BaronessFloralBunting · 10/06/2020 13:23

I'll be off to work soon, but just a heads up to all, a goady opener, and a drip feed reveal of 'facts' about the OP's life, might be a fishing exercise, so please watch your backs lovelies xx

LouHotel · 10/06/2020 13:22

@Littlemeadow123

When your sister is older do you think she should be offered cervical screening or informed on how to check for testicular cancer?

DrDavidBanner · 10/06/2020 13:22

I've noticed that too @HairyPotter I think it's the rain. Its all getting very boring now.

Melia100 · 10/06/2020 13:22

simply because they were not born anatomically like you

Don't talk in this silly language.
What you are asking us to do is be kind to males.

Transwomen are not born anatomically like us because they are MALES. We, on the other hand, are females. They are of a different sex to us.

They have no business in feminism, and they certainly have no business being centred in feminism.

I wish them well but have literally no responsibility towards them. Male problems, men can deal with it. Have you found the male equivalent to Mumsnet yet to scold for lack of male kindness? Or is this just a special for us girls?

DickKerrLadies · 10/06/2020 13:22

I'll post it again to be helpful. I'm kind like that.

Do you believe women should continue to have all the rights they currently have in law?

PurpleCrowbarWhereIsLangCleg · 10/06/2020 13:22

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 10/06/2020 13:21

little

Can you answer dicks question...its ever such a good one

I’ll answer one of yours...if you have one

I’m very fence sitty so its might not be a good answer

CaraDune · 10/06/2020 13:21

"Be kind" is a silencing technique. It means "sit down and shut up and don't argue back."

"Listen respectfully to your adversary and respond to their arguments, not their personality, do not construct straw-man misrepresentations of their position, and above all, do not threaten to rape them with barbed-wire covered baseball bats" - now that, I can get behind.

But a simple minded call to "be kind"? Nope, not playing that game.

RoosterPie · 10/06/2020 13:20

And no, I'm not anti-woman. Recognizing that not everyone who identifies as a woman is born with a vagina is not anti-woman

I recognise that. I don’t recognise that it means that there is no conflict between my sex based rights and the wishes of trans women to be treated identically in all circumstances. Of course the latter affects sex based rights so there has to be a conversation about it. I believe that conversation should happen without women being threatened and abused for their opinion. Do you agree OP?

flowery · 10/06/2020 13:20

There are an awful lot of people on Twitter being the exact opposite of ‘kind’ to JK Rowling.

There is a difference between the terms “equal” and “identical”.

We are all equal. We are not all the same. It’s ok to have noticed that.

LouHotel · 10/06/2020 13:20

Do you think it’s Kind that a young teenage girl in scotland who was raped by 4 men cannot be assured that her rape crisis councillor will not be male bodied?

Do you think it’s kind that a women who is a victim of Female Genital Mutilation Is told to change the language she uses to Describe the atrocity that happened to HER body?

Do you think it’s kind that women who hold gender critical views are subjected to rape threats and told to ‘suck dick’?

pandafunfactory · 10/06/2020 13:19

Ah yes anatomy!

So do I need to share a women only space with somebody with a penis?

Littlemeadow123 · 10/06/2020 13:19

@IWantT0BreakFree

I have done loads of research into this issue over the years. Therefore, I was very well equipped to support my sister when she told me that she was transgender a little while ago. Smile

BaronessFloralBunting · 10/06/2020 13:19

I genuinely don't care if you think being pro woman means supporting men. Same song, different verse. You are the drumbeat of the patriarchy. You serve your masters, and we don't have to comply with your diktats.

Try again.

PronounssheRa · 10/06/2020 13:18

I don't see many people being kind to women, OP.

Why don't you go over to Twitter and tell the men who are telling JKR to 'suck/choke on a dick' to be kind.

Angelo has posted a useful list for you to start with.

NotYetBaby · 10/06/2020 13:17

@AngeloMysterioso

What happened to be kind??

Ask these guys...

And yes, exactly.
Littlemeadow123 · 10/06/2020 13:17

And no, I'm not anti-woman. Recognizing that not everyone who identifies as a woman is born with a vagina is not anti-woman.

Being pro woman means that you support each other. It doesn't mean that you turn on others simply because they were not born anatomically like you.

RoosterPie · 10/06/2020 13:17

OP do you think it is “kind” for people to police my traumatic response to being raped and the triggers which I continue to suffer from?

BaronessFloralBunting · 10/06/2020 13:16

Honestly, yes, I do think #BeKind is a load of rubbish, because hashtags promoted by people who then refuse to accept that women deserve kindness, and not just obligated to perform it, are a steaming pile of manipulative shite.
