www.gaystarnews.com/article/trans-people-are-preparing-to-flee-uk-after-government-threatens-new-bathroom-law/

"She said: ‘As a trans person I no longer feel safe. And the reason I don’t feel safe is not the random on-street stuff.

‘There has always been an undertone of violence directed at me and trans people generally.

‘But at least there has been a sense that the government understood and was happy to go along with broadly accepted rights that have been won in this country and that are accepted elsewhere. Now I’ve lost faith the government will defend us.’

She has started to plan a move, so she is not ‘caught on the hop’. In particular, she is looking at whether she’d need asylum seeker status to live in New Zealand."

Three times in the last year, someone has threatened me with a knife. It got so bad that I bought a stab vest but I still don’t feel safe

Where the the fuck is that person hanging about, to be threatened three times?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 04/06/2020 19:50

That wasn't Jane Fae. The article details a number of transwomen who have had alarming experiences in the UK and who are planned to leave.

Jane could just dress however they like but respect womens rights to single sex spaces....we all know they shouldn’t be using facilities designated for XX people

WTFSeriously · 04/06/2020 19:48

"Three times in the last year, someone has threatened me with a knife. It got so bad that I bought a stab vest but I still don’t feel safe."

Has anyone seen anything about these incidents when they are alleged to have occurred? I can't imagine these scary incidents would have gone unreported or broadcast.

If anyone has links to any published reports of the alleged incidents of JF having been threatened with a knife, please post them. I think it's important to understand more about these alleged incidents.

LillianBland · 04/06/2020 19:47

Maybe all the women, who experience violence at the hands of men, should leave instead, but since that’s one in three, that would be rather a lot.

donquixotedelamancha · 04/06/2020 19:45

It comes after the UK’s new Women and Equalities Minister Liz Truss launched an unprecedented attack on trans rights.

Everybody hates lockdown, not being able to go out and socialise. What Liz Truss is planning is indefinite lockdown for trans people.

Well, that seems an entirely fair and accurate summary of what Liz Truss said.

ShinyFootball · 04/06/2020 19:42

Oh I forgot about the eggshell skulls throwaway comment. 'domestic violence gone wrong'. The man only meant to hurt her but due to the woman's unexpectedly fragile skull he kills her. The poor chap. Yet another way in which female biology oppresses men

ShinyFootball · 04/06/2020 19:39

I have no problem believing that obvious transwomen are a target for abuse, hostility and violence.

From other men.

This is a man problem.

If every woman in the world who has been subject to the sort of violence Fae described moved to NZ, it would sink. And most if not all countries in the world would have few females over the age of about 14 left in them.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 04/06/2020 19:39

@Datun

That one wasn't Jane Fae - apparently many many transwomen are fleeing the UK

How do you mean? Is Fae denying it? Because it absolutely was Fae.

Sorry, I shouldn't have been lazy and used the quote function Blush

"She told GSN: ‘I’m a six foot three trans person so I am quite a visible target for verbal and physical abuse."

Not Jane Fae^

I am well aware that Fae is an extreme porn advocate who advised people on how to wipe their hard drives if required. As well as thinking women from domestic abuse because their skulls are too fragile.

Jane "eggshell skulls"/ultraviolent porn advocate/women shouldn't be consulted on porn regulations/women aren't dying of Covid because they aren't doing their bit on the frontlines/Girl Guide adviser Fae?

Is leaving the UK because Jane doesn't feel safe?

I entirely support Jane leaving the UK, on safety grounds, tbh. Good luck in New Zealand.

Deliriumoftheendless · 04/06/2020 19:37

Next time someone legs you up, maybe imagine someone having a wank over it. Might not seem so bad then, eh Jane?

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 04/06/2020 19:26

@Datun

She told GSN: ‘I’m a six foot three trans person so I am quite a visible target for verbal and physical abuse.

Um, it's not about your height, it's because you advocate for extreme pornography and making it legal to lower the age of the participants.

Duh! Grounds not hounds

Soontobe60 · 04/06/2020 19:23

Under what hounds does Fae believe NZ will take Far as an asylum seeker???

ShinyFootball · 04/06/2020 19:21

Will read the link in a sec

This, and I see it's been mentioned

'People try to trip you up or give you a shove. I’ve had rocks thrown at me and been punched. Three times in the last year, someone has threatened me with a knife. It got so bad that I bought a stab vest but I still don’t feel safe.’

Is it GC women doing this?

Also I find the juxtaposition of this, given fae's activity around loosening the laws around extreme porn, a bit disharmonious.

This is the UK definition of extreme porn:

'a desire to protect those who participate in the creation of sexual material containing violence, cruelty or degradation, who may be the victim of crime in the making of the material, whether or not they notionally or genuinely consent to take part'

And

'Pornographic ("of such a nature that it must reasonably be assumed to have been produced solely or principally for the purpose of sexual arousal"), and
Grossly offensive, disgusting or otherwise of an obscene character, and
Portrays in an explicit and realistic way any of the following:
An act which threatens a person's life, or
An act which results, or is likely to result, in serious injury to a person's anus, breasts or genitals, or
An act which involves sexual interference with a human corpse (necrophilia), or
A person performing an act of intercourse or oral sex with an animal (whether dead or alive) (bestiality), or
An act which involves the non-consensual penetration of a person's vagina, anus or mouth by another with the other person's penis or part of the other person’s body or anything else (rape or assault by penetration) and a reasonable person looking at the image would think that the persons or animals were real.'

Fae believes this law goes to far in limiting freedom of speech/ expression, and is altogether too harsh.

Obviously no one should be abused or have violence meted out to them. However harassment is a regular experience for girls and women from a pretty young age. Sexual assault and rape are hardly rare. I've been threatened by random men more than once. Memorable a man once threw rocks at me on a holiday once. Etc etc.

Girls and women are being increasingly exposed to sexual acts by men who don't get consent first- slapping, hair pulling, spitting, throttling and 'accidentally' having a dick trying to get up their bum when the consent was to vaginal sex. The connection of this with the increased normalisation of these acts in mainstream porn is clearly linked (and I really don't understand those who deny this!).

It just feels that Fae is:

Pro violence of an extreme nature when it's related to sex
Utterly devoid of a knowledge or interest in the harassment and violence that is bread and butter for women and girls in the UK

Why not tackle men on this? Rather than Fae and their ilk continually attacking women who disagree with them?

The other point is that, I have been told more than once, NZ has a very unreconstcted macho male culture. Why do they think things will be better there?

Also, NZ has closed its borders in response to Corona. Their decisive action on this has been on the news all the time. Why does Fae think they will let Fae in?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 04/06/2020 19:18

Perhaps a quick check of the Kiwi laws on extreme porn will help to determine if it's an ideal destination.

I'm unconvinced that being physically massive makes one more likely to be a target than would be the case if one were less physically imposing.

Datun · 04/06/2020 19:16

... and objecting to that is not 'abuse'.

HTH

Datun · 04/06/2020 19:15

Apollo440 · 04/06/2020 19:13

I suspect violence is only to be condemned if your the right sort of woman.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 04/06/2020 19:11

@SeasonallySnowyPeasant

Off you trot then.

On the flip side, being pelted with stones, threatened with a knife etc. is pretty shocking.

I agree, abuse of transpeople is not on.

However, I admit I am struggling to see Fae as a vulnerable, at risk person.

I support Jane in condemning toxic masculinity.

Will JF support women who condemn violent porn? Or does JF only dislike male violence when it's directed towards JF?
