www.gaystarnews.com/article/trans-people-are-preparing-to-flee-uk-after-government-threatens-new-bathroom-law/

"She said: ‘As a trans person I no longer feel safe. And the reason I don’t feel safe is not the random on-street stuff.

‘There has always been an undertone of violence directed at me and trans people generally.

‘But at least there has been a sense that the government understood and was happy to go along with broadly accepted rights that have been won in this country and that are accepted elsewhere. Now I’ve lost faith the government will defend us.’

She has started to plan a move, so she is not ‘caught on the hop’. In particular, she is looking at whether she’d need asylum seeker status to live in New Zealand."

For context, I remember Jane Fae telling Julie Bindel she was frightened of Jenni Murray.

7Days · 05/06/2020 01:06

It's really insulting.
The trembling tearful act. You see it all 9ber the place in this movement.
Another performance based on a misogynistic stereotype

Datun · 05/06/2020 00:23

One of the reasons I live in London is I like to go out and socialise in pubs and clubs and restaurants. But if I can’t go out because I can’t use the loo, there’s not much point in staying here. It makes our lives unlivable.’

Are they seriously saying they have to seek asylum because they are not allowed to compete with women, or might be barred from a female only rape refuge? Or have to use a gender neutral toilet?

Dear lord.

For context, I remember Jane Fae telling Julie Bindel she was frightened of Jenni Murray.

Aesopfable · 05/06/2020 00:22

ShinyFootball it was a reference to the headteacher whose school set defining ‘hardcore pornography’ and ‘transgender pornography’ for 11 year olds homework.

I see my comment could have been interpreted differently Blush

Datun · 05/06/2020 00:20

Sorry, I shouldn't have been lazy and used the quote function blush. Ah no worries. It's me misinterpreting.

OldCrone · 05/06/2020 00:12

Is Jane Fae fully transitioned?

I think it's considered transphobic to ask such questions. If Jane Fae has a penis, it's now a female penis.

There is also no requirement for genital surgery in order to obtain a Gender Recognition Certificate. So a man can keep his penis but have the legal status of 'female'.

ItsLateHumpty · 05/06/2020 00:11

@Namechange2020onceagain

I have no problem with fully transitioned people using the toilets that are not their sex at birth toilets. I do have a problem with perverts and abusers using any toilet to get their thrills or intimidate/attack people.

If you have a penis, use the mens, if you have a vagina, use the womens, it really is that simple.

I have a huge problem with self id. It is open to such abuse.

Is Jane Fae fully transitioned?

The problem then becomes passing as the gender you ID as.

Who decides?

And if a transwoman doesn’t pass, but says they’ve ‘fully transitioned’ (whatever that means), I’m not about to start checking people’s pants. And my flight / fight / fawn / freeze reflex will kick in regardless if I perceive a male in the womans’ toilets.
Also don’t believe no penis = a vagina.

I also don’t want to start speculating on Faes level of transition, because I don’t believe people can change their biology, so it’s a) pointless b) a bit rude imo

TehBewilderness · 05/06/2020 00:09

@ItsAllGoingToBeFine

There appears to be a mass exodus:

'She told GSN: ‘I’m a six foot three trans person so I am quite a visible target for verbal and physical abuse.

‘People try to trip you up or give you a shove. I’ve had rocks thrown at me and been punched. Three times in the last year, someone has threatened me with a knife. It got so bad that I bought a stab vest but I still don’t feel safe.’

The 54 year old is thinking of moving next year. Partly she wants a fresh start but she adds: ‘I don’t want to have to face violence and threats as often as I do.’"

All this from the women and girls in toilets and changing rooms? So they haven't been using the women's loo without problems for donkeys years after all?

Rock throwing? Is that a common UK thing, outside of kids street wars?

ShinyFootball · 05/06/2020 00:05

I'm not sure how to take that, Aesop.

There have been threads about this person in the past.

I think it's worth pasting the law, which is a 30 sec Google search, so that people have the facts, rather than imagining what 'extreme porn' might mean. Threads on here show a range of understanding about what porn looks like at the moment (mainstream) and what would be classed as extreme.

Another point. With the disclaimer that everyone should feel safe and not be attacked, discriminated against at work etc. And a thought that came after an early poster mentioned Iraq.

So many countries in the world where Fae would never choose to go. Due to their repressive, homophobic attitudes and regimes. And the attacks men make on trans women are rooted in homophobia, whatever they might claim.

Do they spare a thought for the women, girls, gay men, lesbians and GNC people in those countries? Do they think of the men and women who undergo full surgical transition in this Iraq, because they are gay, and homosexuality used to attract (maybe still does) a death sentence?

Do they think of the women and girls who are in extremely awful situations where Isis/ deash are active eg the schoolgirls in Kenya, I think it was, the yazidi?

I don't recall much, if any, commentary about improving things for women (and twaw) around the world, or gay men and women, or anything really.

I recall Eddie izzard didn't 'dress as a woman' or wear makeup or nail varnish when he did a charity thing in a country where gay people and women are horrible oppressed. Why's that, I wonder? Women and girls can't identify out of that.

WTFSeriously · 04/06/2020 23:32

'That wasn't Jane Fae. The article details a number of transwomen who have had alarming experiences in the UK and who are planned to leave.'

Ah, sorry, I don't click these articles so went with a quote here & assumes that was JF.

Aesopfable · 04/06/2020 23:28

This is the UK definition of extreme porn:

Someone’s been doing their homework.

SarahTancredi · 04/06/2020 22:41

It's not even a new bathroom law is it.

More like being sprung abusing and misrepresenting the old ones after getting greedy Hmm

WhereYouLeftIt · 04/06/2020 22:35

So that headline - "Trans people are preparing to flee UK after government threatens new bathroom law"

Shallow of me I know, but it just reminded me of all those tax-allergic people threatening to leave the country if Labour got elected (yonks ago, Blair-era). Empty words.

Dances · 04/06/2020 22:32

Wonder if the knitting needles will be packed or if Jane will have to buy new ones on arrival at the new home

BatShite · 04/06/2020 22:32

"She said: ‘As a trans person I no longer feel safe. And the reason I don’t feel safe is not the random on-street stuff.

More 'it is unsafe to be around women who say no'..whilst claiming not to be scared of the actual violent attacks in the street that males launch on transpeople? Or am I reading it wrong..hmm.

I would have thought that a woman wanting her own space was much much preferable to some trasphobe actually attacking you. But..I seem to think much differetly to TRA types.

R0wantrees · 04/06/2020 22:23

from the article in OP

"Trans writer Gemma Stone is one of those who feels she can’t leave. She remains tied to the country by her family. And in any case she told GSN she ‘could not afford to leave’.

Despite this, she said: ‘I have genuinely looked at moving to New Zealand or Canada. A lot of people have had enough and are really scared.

‘I haven’t seen many trans guys saying it but the hate campaign is mostly targeting women.’"

Hmm
Jane Fae is fleeing the UK [shock]
AsTreesWalking · 04/06/2020 22:12

An unnamed contributor said
"How demeaning it is for a trans person to have to go into birth sex loos and how unsafe it is for trans women? Then trans guys will have to go to the women’s loos. Do you want a chap going into the ladies because he was born female at birth. So then any man can go in."

They really can't hear themselves can they?

AnyOldPrion · 04/06/2020 22:05

Why do they think things will be better there?

The actual place is probably irrelevant. Anywhere that sounds vaguely civilised and is not the U.K. will do.

Gncq · 04/06/2020 22:00

People try to trip you up or give you a shove. I’ve had rocks thrown at me and been punched. Three times in the last year, someone has threatened me with a knife. It got so bad that I bought a stab vest but I still don’t feel safe.

This sounds awful and terrible.
And of course, male violence is a threat to everyone. Hence the need for women's spaces etc.

Unfortunately, having seen so much hyperbole, so many lies that surround the gender ideology movement, I can't help doubt this comment quoted above, and I can't help but doubt JF's sudden threat to flounce out of the UK.

If a bepenised person is prepared to say "I am a woman" with a straight face, what else are they prepared to say?

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 04/06/2020 21:22

Anybody having rocks thrown or being threatened with knives has my sympathy. And yes, I hope they reported to police.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/06/2020 19:53

If these things are happening then they should alert the police who can take action.

I completely agree, and imagine that the police will take it seriously, as they should.

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 04/06/2020 19:52

Jane Fae, campaigner for the 'right' to own and view extreme porn including women being raped, tortured and murdered, no longer 'feels safe' in tne UK. You couldnt make it up. Hope Jane doesnt delay their departure.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/06/2020 19:52

Well, that seems an entirely fair and accurate summary of what Liz Truss said.

Quite Grin

PastMyBestBeforeDate · 04/06/2020 19:51

If these things are happening then they should alert the police who can take action.

Usually to claim asylum you have to indicate the authorities (police etc) won't defend you. Going to be a bit tricky when it seems like every police force in the country is running an LGBT+ Twitter account and dancing at Pride.
