Have to say I have never heard of her, but she is giving pink news everything they every wanted to hear!

It’s been an epic journey getting to this point. I hope my story will help LGBT people avoid the GC movement or find their way out of it. I might write a book about what I went through, but this article by @vicparsons_ is a good overview.

And is obviously hoping to hook others into asking her opinions with this barely veiled threat of more shock horror stories to come:

I have receipts on some big names that weren’t mentioned in this piece, but hopefully that part of the story will get out in the future. Let me be clear that some GCs are well meaning. Some have helped me. Many of the leaders in the movement are corrupt, though.

I hope The lovely Adrian has read that Meghan Murphy piece. It’s hilarious!

I’m so sorry ShedBuilder. Do you have male friends? Have you worked for a man at some stage? Was you father a man? That might explain it. Cults are very strict about who you’re allowed to mix with. There has to be a reason you weren’t invited to join? It’s not as if it doesn’t exist.......is it? 🤔

RoyalCorgi · 18/05/2020 11:00

"The top piece for your movement" is a phrase that gives a clue to Amy's personality. We've had lots of brilliant pieces over the past three years from people like Jane Clare Jones, Kathleen Stock, Julie Bindel, Janice Turner and many more. So it seems unlikely that Amy's piece was, in any meaningful sense of the word, "top". She doesn't seem quite the full shilling.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 18/05/2020 11:00

Let's be honest, if Pink News ever made a responsible editorial decision it was probably by mistake.

R0wantrees · 18/05/2020 10:58

As a few pp have pointed out, she doesn't seem very well and it feels as if Pink News is exploiting that.

Benjamin Cohen (CEO Pink News) will at some point have to take responsibility for his company's propaganda / negligence/ exploitation.

Shedbuilder · 18/05/2020 10:51

I've been an out lesbian and feminist for 40 years and more. I've attended conferences and rallies, the Michigan Womyn's Festival several times, I've read books, I've been involved in innumerable women's groups and organisations and initiatives over the years — and I have no idea who my leader is. I'm all too aware of how lacking in power lesbians are, unless you include people like Ruth Hunt who is definitely not my leader. Where am I going wrong, Amy?

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 18/05/2020 10:49

So you’re a liar to pretend you haven’t heard of me

Wow! Talk about being full of your own self importance! Amy is going to end up very very lonely because the TRA cult will turn on her in a heartbeat. She has obviously never heard the of the expression don’t shit on your own doorstep.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 18/05/2020 10:48

The only reason I remember her is because she went on an angry rant about a detransitioner at some point.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/05/2020 10:45

I remember her piece. But I'm not sure how she's qualifying it as "the top piece for your movement in late 2018". There was a lot going in here in the UK in late 2018 - the GRA consultation etc.

CodenameVillanelle · 18/05/2020 10:42

She's a narcissist who has been abusing women on twitter publicly and via PM for months - accusing lesbians of being homophobic etc. She describes herself as a major player and former leader of the GC movement and she's pissed because nobody else saw her that way and is lashing out.
Attached screenshot is her explaining why she was a major player to people who said they didn't know who she was.

As a few pp have pointed out, she doesn't seem very well and it feels as if Pink News is exploiting that. I hope she has support.
As for the right-wing Christian, arranged-marriage, secret network of powerful lesbians conspiracy theory, the only surprising thing is that PN didn't manage to shoehorn in any references to lizard people or Princess Diana. Maybe they're saving that for the next edition.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 18/05/2020 10:36

If we’re taking her bullshit experiences with GC women as proof that there is a GC cult, does that mean that all men are part of a sinister cult. After all, it was only men that beat, molested and abused me. I only ever received creepy comments from men. I’ve shared beds with lesbian friends (I’m straight) and never had any of them behave inappropriately towards me. Thank you for opening my eyes Amy! Men are a cult! It all makes sense now! Shock

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 18/05/2020 10:30

But she is locked up in my lesbian basement.

Is that a euphemism?

😁

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 18/05/2020 10:25

If someone was all "she invited me to stay with her and then I didn't get to stay and also she failed to deliver me the spouse that was promised" I'd ghost her too tbh. It's all a bit Piers Morgan banging on about Meghan Markle meeting him once and then not wanting to be his bestie.

Clymene · 18/05/2020 10:22

Amy has never been to the uk. I believe her to be mentally ill and I really don't think a second thread is in her best interests.

littlbrowndog · 18/05/2020 10:21

Actually I need a husband Wonder if Julie would help

littlbrowndog · 18/05/2020 10:20

Bloody Julie. What’s she like 🤦‍♀️😂😂😂

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 18/05/2020 10:18

"Promising to find us wives"? She's a feminist journalist, mate, not that woman who runs the LA matchmaking service on telly.

GeordieTerf · 18/05/2020 10:04

When specifically did Amy visit the Uk?

I can't find any evidence that she's ever been here? Confused

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 18/05/2020 09:59

The Meghan Murphy piece. Grin

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 18/05/2020 09:45

Expose! Read all about it! The real reason that El Chapo finally went down was that Julie Bindel was waiting in the wings, finally ready to transition Sinaloa from all that silly drug smuggling business into its true destiny as a lesbian terrorist organization.

ByGrabtharsHammerWhatASavings · 18/05/2020 09:31

Soooo... I've had a look at Amy's twitter feed and read her interview but I can't find an answer to my question stated explicitly anywhere. Maybe someone on twitter could ask her:

Amy, are trans women women? Like, literally. And they can be real lesbians, with a female penis, and all lesbians should be willing to accept that penis unless they're bigots? And are you deeply deeply sorry for ever saying or thinking otherwise?

Oh and that whole lengthy piece of research you produced which showed that a disproportionate number of lesbians you know had been sexually harrassed or assaulted by TW... Did you just make all that up?

Can you give me, in detail, the thought process which took you from believing TWAM to believing that TWAW? I'm assuming you didn't just change your mind because GC people were mean to you...

SO looking forward to the answers to these questions. Go on monitors, ask her for us. I'm sure she'll be more than happy to prove her new found loyalty to the Holy alter of gender.

R0wantrees · 18/05/2020 09:26

Julie Bindel as head of a shadowy lesbian human trafficking spy network organisation?

TalcumX being Owen Jones,

"British newspaper columnist, political commentator, journalist, and Labour Party activist. He writes a column for The Guardian and contributes to the New Statesman and Tribune"

And she looked so nice too. It’s always the ones you least expect isn’t it.

I hear that Mother Theresa was a drugs cartel boss too.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 18/05/2020 09:03

Julie Bindel as head of a shadowy lesbian human trafficking spy network organisation?

I have to admit, I never saw that plot twist coming.
