I have been lurking on twitter lately and noticed Baroness Nicholson has been very active recently. Amongst her tweets are quite a few gems - letters to Liz Truss, tweets asking for evidence about Stonewall’s involvement CPS guidance just to name two.

This tweet I found very encouraging too.

It is imperative to restore the rights of women.I foresee a single issue, cluster approach;we make a new Women’s Rights movement lasting one year, solely to rescue womanhood from its destruction through today’s legal and social denial of our existence.Emma,BNoW

She has today written to Liz Truss again but this time with her concerns about the gross misinterpretation of the ECHR in the trans toolkits used in schools and recommends that such toolkits are removed from use now. Such support is great news.

I will try to post the letter for those not on twitter.

I look forward to seeing what what happens next.

I hope she has a quiet conversation with Baronness Liz Barker at some point. Possibly pointing out that accusing women raising concerns of being funded by US fundamentalists is not really the done thing.

AnyOldPrion · 21/05/2020 16:57

It's embarrassing that we have had to oppose what these people are saying, when they are coming across as so, so stupid. Utter nitwits. So many pervs on her thread too. Talking gibberish.

She must be thinking how did anyone ever take anything they said seriously.

That has always been one of the most astonishing things about the situation: that the ludicrous suggestion that some men are actually women was ever a statement that was being taken seriously. This is one of the reasons the Baroness is now cutting through all the bullshit.

Somehow the extensive grooming that has been carried out over years seems to have bypassed her entirely and she has the force of personality to push ahead.

Wonder whether she was too busy doing other things, or whether they avoided her as too difficult to convince,

Lordfrontpaw · 21/05/2020 16:52

Having words...

Lordfrontpaw · 21/05/2020 16:52

I wonder if she is having with other members of the Lords and politicians who have been championing this guff?

Datun · 21/05/2020 16:39

Woman is a gender when he's wanging on about it, but a sex when he wants it on a passport.

It's always the same, how they switch them.

BatShite · 21/05/2020 16:36

I haven't yet said, 'May the fourth be with you' today

One of the replies on there is this..

Last I checked "woman" is a gender. If you believe in gender abolition then you are saying everyone is non-binary. In which case, why do we need a legal sex on our birth certificates and passports?

So near yet so far. Gender does not need to be on passports anymore than anyones favourite colour. But sex is relevant. So saying no gender needed on passports..doesn't mean sex should be blank! Good grief..

'Legal sex' part pisses me off a lot too tbh.

Also yes to all people being 'non-binary'. Indeed. They are, finally!

Also 'woman is a gender'?! Back on the usual 'whats your definition of woman' stuff again then, how surprising Hmm

She must be thinking how did anyone ever take anything they said seriously.

She just take everything to a new level. I am in awe.

Datun · 21/05/2020 15:44

I've just had a quick browse of her Twitter.

FleecyMoo · 21/05/2020 15:35

I admire her cool responses to every sort of childish, petulant nonsense thrown at her. She takes no prisoners and nor should she!

Datun · 21/05/2020 14:37

I am glad she pointed out 11 year olds grow up and don’t remain cute, relatively harmless kids for ever.

The hypocrisy is the height of enough.

Almost every adult transwoman bangs on about how they felt exactly the same since the age of three.

So the argument bolsters their position in reverse, but it's literal violence going the other way.

They should stop campaigning for trans and set up schools for language manipulation. They'd make a fortune.

Winesalot · 21/05/2020 14:16

But Pheasants are tasty!!

At least they are creative in there cancelling attempts.

Purity politics helped create this mess, sensible pragmatism might just be what gets us out of it

This, with bells on.

Dreeple · 21/05/2020 13:44

Technically, a pheasant is a feathery.

Lordfrontpaw · 21/05/2020 13:32

Hang on - wasn't cock, bear, dog fighting etc (not a cock fighting a dog or a bear or any combination of the three) a particularly ye olde working-class pastime? That's pretty much torturing wee animals in my book.

Lordfrontpaw · 21/05/2020 13:30

not only peasants, children too. Maybe its a typo and was supposed to be pheasants - but that doesn't make sense. Personally I find this level of 'debate' quite torturous.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 21/05/2020 13:19

Of course it's a furry.

Dreeple · 21/05/2020 13:13

I’m against torturing guilty peasants, under most circumstances.

Lordfrontpaw · 21/05/2020 13:05

Torturing innocent peasants! 🙄 oh dear god...

Some people in the HOL are amazing and are there on merit.
Others not so much.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 21/05/2020 12:01

Well, they can vaguely annoy her, at least until she figures out how to turn off notifications. Oh the power!

TyroSaysMeow · 21/05/2020 11:52

she is not needing to be re-elected

I grew up thinking the HoL was a bad thing because they're not elected. Starting to see that, if the people in the HoL aren't complete twonks, then actually this has its uses. There's nothing they can do to her, is there?

DickKerrLadies · 21/05/2020 11:09

They think their harrassment of her helps their cause, rather than providing exactly the kind of response that shows why some people are reluctant to speak up on this topic. It's almost kind of them to respond to the call for evidence in such a way.

Sunlight!

LizzieSiddal · 21/05/2020 10:18

I bloody love her, she's just what we need.

Winesalot · 21/05/2020 09:37

It must be very frustrating when you are trying to cancel someone who simply doesn’t play by the book.
