If you didn't know.

Just well done to everyone who noticed, who complained who did something. This is fantastic news. The law has not yet been captured.

I hope this has really positive implications for the Safe School Alliance challenge.

Great news.
Thanks to all involved Star

Important to remember that this school toolkit for key stages 3 and 4 was published by the CPS in partnership with NSPCC, Stonewall, Gendered Intelligence, NASUWT & the National Police Chiefs’ Council.

Marvellous!

Ruth Hunt chose such a good time to leave Stonewall, didn’t she?

Spero · 30/04/2020 19:44

@Aesopfable I hope that Safe School Alliance will be poised and ready for the revised guidance. Time for JR will start running when that comes out and it can be challenged again if its just as crap.

My hope is that because they have pulled it 'for a review' but aren't able to give any timescales, that this is serious. They realise it goes beyond tweaking. That this is fundamentally wrong.

Be interesting to see if Oxfordshire continue to resist the challenge to their guidelines.

And of course it raises the really alarming question about how the bloody hell was this ever even published. But its fantastic news. First of many I hope.

Facts are of the greatest inconvenience to this movement.

Michelleoftheresistance · 30/04/2020 19:29

Brilliant news!

And again proves, when they checked their facts, it was a case of ohhhh shit ….

Thingybob · 30/04/2020 19:21

Excellent news, well done.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 30/04/2020 19:19

Yas!

Great news. Well done, all who had a hand in this.

Sunlight! Bring it!

popehilarious · 30/04/2020 19:18

Good work everyone!

Aesopfable · 30/04/2020 19:10

spero what happens to the SSA challenge now? There is no guarantee that CPS won't just reissue the guidance more or less intact. It would be good to have someone say it was illegal and why.

BovaryX · 30/04/2020 19:02

Fantastic news! A real achievement by everyone who opposed this. Great result!

OhHolyJesus · 30/04/2020 19:00

Interesting Toots

If ever there was a time to hit the brakes and reverse this then appointing a new CEO is it.

It would be a convenient way to explain away previous decisions with a change of tack.

We'd better watch closely.

Yay, the house of cards is tumbling down, at last.

Excellent.

Tootsweets23 · 30/04/2020 18:58

Huge congratulations to all who campaigned on this.

As an aside if not already spotted, stonewall say they've appointed their new CEO and will say in the next few weeks who it is and when they start (published on their website on April 21).

The irony that they had to take legal advice before it was pulled

Yep, you would think legal advice earlier on in the process would have been a good idea, like at the start? Hmm

Melroses · 30/04/2020 18:56

Yay! Well done everyone!

Excellent !!

Whatisthisfuckery · 30/04/2020 18:46

This is brilliant news. Thanks to all involved for forcing the CPS to backtrack. Hopefully this will nudge a few more of those dominos.

MrsSnippyPants · 30/04/2020 18:46

A load of blokes in wigs in a court telling a teenage girl she must get naked in a changing room with boys or be prosecuted for hate speech would have been such a good look. Shame Grin

jhuizinga · 30/04/2020 18:38

This has really cheered me up - definitely a step in the right direction!
