According the 'Diva Survey' Hmm (groundbreaking research into the lives of LGBTQI women), "86% of LGBTQI women are aware of media coverage about the transphobic attitudes of a small group of lesbians". Of course this is accompanied by a quote of "trans women are women".

There are no details on how many people were interviewed or where the research took place.

Further along the Visible Lesbian 100 page there is a lovely bit of explaining that if you define lesbian as a women who is sexually attracted to other women then you are guilty of narrow and prejudiced thinking!

Honestly, I'm not a lesbian but I'm just so pissed off at this! AngryAngry

Jane Fae!

wow, yuk. How's the circulation of Diva doing? Are women still the target market?

Melroses · 20/04/2020 20:59

It was very tempting to tweet some of the "lesbians" in scanty underwear and awful skinny legs for a bit of visibility, but wishing for something more positive, I have retweeted Liane and friends who look far more fun, and very much happier.

MedusasButterDish · 20/04/2020 19:06

lesbian.visibilityweek.sham Hmm

Still, let this nonsense become more visible, by all means:

"the only threat to lesbian identities is those who believe 'lesbian' is for them alone to define... That... means that fewer and fewer women-loving women feel comfortable claiming a lesbian identity."

Damn shame, those lesbians going back into the closet where they can't be found! Grin

SomeDyke · 20/04/2020 17:54

And to those who try to claim that a lady peen is 'just like' a strap-on, my answer would be .....So, you'll be okay with me removing it and boiling it in bleach then.

Diva, contributing to Lesbian INvisibility with every issue............

Angryresister · 20/04/2020 16:39

So now it’s a trans rag? You couldn’t make it up!

Kit19 · 20/04/2020 16:25

the problem is though bringbacklang is that it just reinforces the feeling among lesbians that if you dont believe it you're wrong and bigoted and in a minority because all the other lesbians believe it and you're a handful transphobe

so you end up with the mental gymnastic threads on twitter where young lesbians are saying "if you're bi you're not a lesbian, lesbians dont do dick" really assertively
right until someone says "what about TW" and they repeat the TWAW are mantra...

GeordieTerf · 20/04/2020 16:22

Jane Fae! Shock

Thinkingabout1t · 20/04/2020 16:13

I know homophobia has always existed. But I never thought I would see it come back into fashion, championed by the wokest of the woke.

But then I never thought I'd see an LGB alliance or a mainstream feminist group described as "hate groups" by big names in the Labour Party.

And least of all did I ever think I would be relying on the Sunday Times and the Spectator for accurate coverage of women's issues!

Michelleoftheresistance · 20/04/2020 15:45

Males redefine female sexuality to better suit and service their own sexual needs, and then shame and pressure females to call this a good idea.

Basically trying to end female homosexuality because it's so fucking inconvenient to men. Even that there are females out there who in theory are saying no to males can't be tolerated. It's laughable.

This lesbian knows what biological sex is, and is homosexual thanks. If you want to call that 'transphobic' do crack on.

BringbackLang · 20/04/2020 15:44

The groundbreaking research is slanted to their target demographic ie the gender identity brigade. It's not accurate in any way shape or form because it is biased.

It's about as groundbreaking as asking if you prefer a twix or a snickers.

Thelnebriati · 20/04/2020 15:42

The Equality Act defines a lesbian as a woman who is same sex attracted, so Diva needs to educate themselves and do better.

applepineapple · 20/04/2020 15:41

Notable lesbians they have decided to pick as their 100 include everyone's favourite knitter, Jane Fae and 'passionate and outspoken advocate' Mhairi Black.

Yes, the T and Q have no business being part of this. A trans lesbian is just a hetero bloke! FGS
