Posted his request about 5 minutes ago (or at least thats when I saw it) on twitter.

Im not even particularly anti trans, but when I see attempts to whip up mobs like that, I feel that hes making people anti trans.

Sort makes me want to resort to making insidious dog whistle anti trans rhetoric just to fuck with him.

Leaving his trans stance aside, going by the rest of his twitter offerings, hes definitely not the person I would want as a GP. Lacks decorum and gravitas.

I would also like to know how he is still practicing as a GP? Why would his profession tolerate all this attention seeking nonsense? He wouldn’t last 5 minutes at our local Trust hospital, they just wouldn’t allow that kind of behaviour from one of their employees, they have policies about what kind of standards employees are expected to uphold on the internet. He would be regarded as bringing his profession and the organisation into disrepute.

KaronAVyrus · 16/04/2020 16:07

Well done Arla.

missyB1 · 16/04/2020 16:05

Thanks DrudgeJedd that’s A great response from Arla.

This is the former Mermaids employee who attempted to bring charges of 'transphobia' against Miranda Yardley who is transsexual?

'Regina v Miranda Yardley: More DARVO from Helen Islan'
POSTED ON 3RD MARCH 2019 by Miranda
(extract)
"In the Daily Mail today “Britain’s first transgender hate crime trial is halted after one day as judge says ‘there is no case and never was a case“, the complainant against me Helen Islan tries to distance herself from the proceedings which were brought in her name:

‘The decision to prosecute was made by the CPS, not me personally and I accept the verdict of the court.’

It does not surprise me she is trying to wash herself of responsibility. Having tried to blackmail the court by saying she was unprepared to give evidence unless her name was subjected to a press restrictions order, her evidence on Friday appeared to me to be incredibly dishonest as she attempted to distance herself from anything and everything she has said and done: apparently never having tweeted under her real name, it was ‘esoteric search engines’ which created and posted tweets under the name ‘Helen Islan’, as shown by screen captures of these tweets in the evidence bundle. In spite of admitting in her statement and even evidence given to open court that she was a volunteer with Mermaids, getting her to acknowledge anything was met with denial of the facts, attacks on my character and reversals… now where have we seen that before?

The upshot is, her evidence was like witnessing a tooth extraction. I suspect the judge agreed, from the way he was rolling his eyes and having to tell Islan to stop wasting the court’s time waffling and just answer the questions. Islan was so unreliable as a witness, so truculent, I would not have been surprised should she have been indicted for perjury.

Anyway, back to the original quote which I will reproduce again so that we are clear as to Islan’s words:

‘The decision to prosecute was made by the CPS, not me personally and I accept the verdict of the court.’

On 10 August last year, I received from Islan’s solicitors Mishcon de Reya a three page legal letter threatening me with a High Court injunction, action for defamation and a costs order. This letter was I believe funded by the Mishcon de Reya ‘Pink Law‘ initiative, so again Islan benefitted from LGBT without herself being a part of this world.

What a hypocrite." (continues)

Mail on Sunday article referenced above:

'Britain's first transgender hate crime trial is halted after one day as judge says 'there is no case and never was a case'

(extract)
"Britain's first transgender hate crime prosecution has been halted by a judge who declared: ‘There is no case and never was a case.’

Miranda Yardley, 51, was put ‘through ten months of hell’ after being accused of harassing a transgender activist on Twitter.

But District Judge John Woollard dismissed the case after a one-day hearing, saying there was simply no evidence. " (continues)

"The hearing at Basildon Magistrates’ Court in Essex last Friday brought into sharp focus the complex and often rancorous divisions within the transgender community.

On one side was Yardley, an accountant, who describes himself as a transsexual and identifies as a man, even though he underwent gender reassignment to become a woman ten years ago.

Despite his own experience, his contention is that individuals cannot change sex – and this has drawn fierce criticism on social media.

Giving evidence via video link was his accuser, Helen Islan, who is married with children and works with the trans advocacy group Mermaids, which campaigns for children who want to change gender.

The court heard that one of her teenage children is transgender. The spat began with a discussion – joined by other Twitter users – about self-identification, which allows people to be recognised as transgender simply by declaring themselves male or female.

Concerns were also expressed about how the powerful trans lobby was allegedly eroding women’s rights by allowing transgender women, born male, into female-only spaces. This, it was argued, was a threat to women.

But using a pseudonym, Ms Islan accused her opponents of ‘spreading hysteria’ and it was at this point the exchanges grew increasingly aggressive. (continues)

Michelleoftheresistance · 16/04/2020 16:03

Bravo Arla, that's the most sensible response I've heard yet.

MehitabelWhurl · 16/04/2020 16:02

He really is the most repulsive little man. How the hell is he still a practising GP?

Lordfrontpaw · 16/04/2020 16:01

Oh dear. Well at least the still have lush and Starbucks...

titchy · 16/04/2020 16:01

Ooh nauticant that's my post ShockShockShockGrinGrinGrin I'm quaking in my boots, quaking I tell you....

DrudgeJedd · 16/04/2020 16:01

Might be a bit small but I'll try

🤣 missy !

Datun · 16/04/2020 15:59

Can you link to that DrudgeJedd?

missyB1 · 16/04/2020 15:59

Oooh DrudgeJedd I’m not on Twitter any chance you can post a link?

Datun · 16/04/2020 15:58

To aid their case they've actually linked to the feminist board (idiocy), and the very first thread is this one!

🤣

DrudgeJedd · 16/04/2020 15:56

Hahaha Arla have just (politely) told them to fuck off on Twitter

Nelliana · 16/04/2020 15:56

They're not managing to come up with much are they. Women debating their safety and sex based rights enshrined in law, is NOT transphobia. I'm surprised Harrop isn't busy at work what with a Pandemic and all that. But no, he's back here yet again trying to harass women and get funding withdrawn from Mumsnet. And why is he doing that? Could it be because he hates women and can't bear them discussing their legal rights? 😉 I think Harrop needs investigating again by the GMC. I'm sure sustained harassment towards women is not part of his job description as a doctor.

Datun · 16/04/2020 15:54

Good Lord nauticant If I recall correctly, that thread was actually started by a transactivist in order to try and elicit incriminating posts.

The fact all the responses are measured, calm, and merely supportive of women's rights to privacy, is yet another own goal.

I'll never get it. The anger is so strong, it overpowers everything, including logic, rationality, and self-awareness.

carriebreadshaw · 16/04/2020 15:51

It's a public forum why doesn't he just look himself?

Lollygaggles · 16/04/2020 15:47

Thanks for highlighting this. It's getting a good going over on Twitter!

Marmite27 · 16/04/2020 15:46

I’m glad I stopped using lurpak last month then.

SisyphusLangClegRocks · 16/04/2020 15:46

RoyalCorgi · 16/04/2020 15:45

Thanks for that link, nauticant - it's hilarious. I'm sure Arla will be horrified by such transphobic statements as "Safeguarding is paramount" and "transgender ideology is scientifically unsupportable".

merrymouse · 16/04/2020 15:43

The irony.

I assume that a company whose business model depends on milking cows is aware of the consequences of sex.

Winesalot · 16/04/2020 15:29

Nauticant. Thanks for posting that thread. It made me laugh. I am quite sure that any person who believes that anyone has the right to freely question any philosophy, concept or even a widely held belief to see if what they believe is still valid will read those and think ‘what is phobic here’? If saying that a male cannot change sex to be biologically a female still remains controversial in these pandemic times (and this has not been said to someone specifically) ... then I guess the majority of people needs a very intensive ‘re-education’ session or ... it points out that anyone who cannot deal with that biological fact needs intensive counseling to live in the real world.

I have seen so much worse on twitter every single day posted by TR As. I’d be bombarding Arla with those tweets if I could get on twitter.

nauticant · 16/04/2020 15:23

I think that's why anyone thinking of contacting Arla to put forward a contrary view need to be brief and measured Michelleoftheresistance. If Arla can't understand Harrop & Co's point but feel that they're finding themselves in the middle of an incomprehensible bunfight they might think to back away irrespective of the merits of what's going on.
