I didn't say I'd saw a video I said I hadn't and wouldn't want to. Yes there is something dodgy about the video. My guess is since they only arrested 7 of the 12 involved that the one who recorded her with one man got away without being arrested so the courts wouldn't have the video would they. They would have no way of knowing what phone it was on by the time they all got back to Israel. Men and woman from Israel and Cyprus went to court to support this girl. Take it they don't have access to WhatsApp there then.

Datun · 18/04/2020 12:08

So why would they stand by it and even double down unless they know more than we do?

Because they don't want to be known as the country where you go to get gang raped

Homestayer · 18/04/2020 11:59

You are right, its devastating for Cyprus and their tourist industry.

So why would they stand by it and even double down unless they know more than we do?

I'm sure the truth will come out eventually and I really hope it shows the poor girl did nothing wrong and can clear her name. I'm also a realist however and there is something very odd going on here.

We will all know the truth eventually.

Datun · 18/04/2020 11:53

You are right that I can't say for sure if the video of her enjoying group sex exists because I havent seen it, but it has been reported as existing and I know someone who I trust who says they have seen it.

This is an international scandal as far as Cyprus is concerned. Involving diplomatic relations, the decimation of their tourist industry and their global reputation.

Better your mate to send them the video, pronto.

Homestayer · 18/04/2020 11:49

Then equally how do you know the video you saw of her which contradicts me is even her?

That works both ways.

Tonz · 18/04/2020 11:45

How does your mate even know he saw her in a video? As far as I know her identity is protected. Better get on the phone to Cyprus courts so they can defend their treatment of that poor girl with a video your mate found on WhatsApp. See how ridiculous it sounds

Homestayer · 18/04/2020 11:38

The level of confusion and odd decisions around this case are my exact point datun

The situation is inexplicable unless more evidence exists than is being reported.

You are right that I can't say for sure if the video of her enjoying group sex exists because I havent seen it, but it has been reported as existing and I know someone who I trust who says they have seen it.

If it exists it would explain a lot of things, such as why the video of her having 1 on 1 sex while being secretly filmed (which we know exists) hasn't been used as evidence in her defence.

Datun · 18/04/2020 11:28

So you have seen one that shows her not consenting?

Now you're confusing absence of consent with expressly not consenting. Despite claiming that there was a video of her enthusiastically consenting to group sex.

There were 35 bruises on her body, the first doctor who saw her said she passed out. She was questioned for 6 hours without any video evidence, or any witnesses. And, from what I can remember, the judge did not even allow her to testify about the rape. It was only about whether she was lying about the rape.

But, your mate 'saw a video on WhatsApp', which you are leveraging here, despite saying you've never want to watch it yourself and, in fact, haven't. 🙄

Tonz · 18/04/2020 11:22

I haven't seen any and wouldn't want to. I just feel if one of the men had a video like that on their phone it would have been used against her straight away but if it showed her telling them to leave like she said it did then that's why the men didn't use it for evidence. It's a heartbreaking story and I hope she gets justice for everything she's been through. I believe her version

Homestayer · 18/04/2020 11:12

Video/videos are in the public domain. On the internet and being reported about in Cyprus and Israel. People on this thread have seen at least one of them.

If you think her lawyers cant get hold of them if they wanted to you are mad.

Tonz · 18/04/2020 11:10

She knows the video exists because she saw it being recorded on a phone when she told them to leave. I don't think she's even seen it as it wasn't her phone it was recorded on maybe her lawyers have tried to find it but can't. That's why I don't believe there's any video going around WhatsApp

Homestayer · 18/04/2020 11:02

That's exactly my point Tonz a video backs up one of their version of events, yet regardless of what it shows, nobody is using it.

If it shows consenting sex with one man only, with his mates giggling and trying not to be seen, then they are clearly committing a crime and it's literal insanity that she isnt using it to clear her name.

That's what I mean by the whole thing being odd.

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 18/04/2020 11:02

I've not seen any of these videos.

So you don't know what you're talking about?

Tonz · 18/04/2020 10:59

I don't for a second believe that video showing her happily having group sex exists it would have been used as evidence. If your friend got it on WhatsApp I think the boys lawyers would have got hold of it easily. I believe she was secretly filmed having consensual sex with one like she has said. I believe every word that girl says and after watching the interview I don't know how anyone with a heart wouldnt

Homestayer · 18/04/2020 10:50

As in 1 video of her with one guy, then a later video showing 'more going on' if you know what I mean.

That would explain a lot and possibly be the reason why she doesnt want to introduce videos into her defence, as then all of them would have to be viewed.

Homestayer · 18/04/2020 10:48

I've not seen any of these videos.

So you have seen one that shows her not consenting? Why the hell isn't she using it as evidence then?!

Are you saying that isn't weird?

Is there possibly more than one video?

Datun · 18/04/2020 10:45

Either way, it supports someone's case, yet no one is using it.

Plenty of people have seen it. It's been uploaded to a porn site. Which in this country is a crime.

You said "a video apparently exists of her enthusiastically consenting to the group sex with the men in question."

But you're backing it up with fuck all.

Homestayer · 18/04/2020 10:39

Datun how do you know what the video shows? Have you seen it?

That's not what has been claimed, someone on this thread says it shows her having sex with people off camera hiding and giggling. Clear evidence she didnt know other people were there. Why isnt she using it as evidence to support her case?

The person I know who says they have seen it say it shows her being 'active' shall we say with several men.

Either way, it supports someone's case, yet no one is using it.

Like I said, very odd.

Datun · 18/04/2020 10:16

It's all very suspicious. A video clearly exists, it will either show one version of events or another, or at least call into question someone's story, yet nobody seems to be using it.

Because it was a video of her, taken from behind, having sex with one man. That's all it shows. It does not show consent for sex with all his mates.

TheQueef · 18/04/2020 10:16

*contradicted

Datun · 18/04/2020 10:14

Datun do we know that the video expressly shows she didnt consent?

Yes. Consent isn't ambiguous.

TheQueef · 18/04/2020 10:11

Imo the video clearly supports her statement that she was in a new relationship with ONE guy.
It was obviously shot without her knowledge and the fact that it exists and the video showing the men gatecrashing and her telling them to leave shows the men's intent.
Nothing she said is contracted by the videos.

Homestayer · 18/04/2020 10:07

Datun do we know that the video expressly shows she didnt consent?

I could use your own argument against you. If it does show that, why isnt it being used by the girl and her family to prove she is innocent?

It's all very suspicious. A video clearly exists, it will either show one version of events or another, or at least call into question someone's story, yet nobody seems to be using it.

That says to me there is more going on here.

As for the documentary, very emotive but very light on non anecdotal evidence. Also found it strange that the first doctor who examined her found no evidence, it was only when a second a doctor (paid for by the family) became involved that suddenly she was battered and bruised.

V odd.

1066vegan · 18/04/2020 10:03

@Homestayer Did you actually watch the documentary? I struggle to see how anyone could watch the interviews with the girl and her friends and not believe thst she was raped.

She's been through a horrific experience and this must be compounded, firstly by the way that she was treated by the criminal justice system over there and then by the knowledge that there are people like you doubting what she says on the basis of supposition and rumour.

If you have watched the documentary then you are very heartless. If you have not watched it, then you should be ashamed of yourself for spreading malicious gossip.

Datun · 18/04/2020 09:59

We know there is a video. We know it was uploaded. And we know it's expressly does not show that she consented to group sex.

So unless there's another one, which everyone in court knew about, but somehow has not managed to end up in the public domain? Despite the fact that it would exonerate all the men?

Women from Israel were flying to Cyprus to support this woman. Women from the country, where apparently it's common knowledge, with video proof, that the woman consented?
