Vancouver Rape Relief hate continues on medium

Sadly, this level of hatred doesn’t abate during a global pandemic. It just gives people more time to spread lies about Nazi’s supporting VRR and a supersized whopper that Oger is a hero.

I will copy the text in another comment but here is the archived version. Medium have taken down the live version and I am not surprised if you look at the call to action.

Another truth... what you publish lives long on the internet even if the original source is deleted.

If Oger had a genuine case, Oger wouldn't have to pretend that women running a rape relief centre are neo-Nazis.

happydappy2 · 13/04/2020 14:50

whoever wrote that pile of rubbish is delusional. Its not hatred to have a single sex space for women to feel safe and recover, when healing from male violence.

As for calling male bodied individuals women-its just nonsense. They are transwomen and there's a clear difference.

TreestumpsAndTrampolines · 13/04/2020 14:29

Jesus Christ that is unhinged!

I've donated before, but I'm going to set up a monthly donation now - whilst I don't live in Vancouver, I have family connections there (who god willing will never need their services - but I'd like them to be available)

DaydreamingDay · 13/04/2020 14:04

I donate every month as well and will for the rest of my life. It's staggering that people this evil exist, that they would see brutalised women forced to surrender their safety and well being just so that women hating men get their kicks.

PurpleCrowbarWhereIsLangCleg · 13/04/2020 13:45

Apart from anything else, that's a truly terrible piece of writing!

Piling up emotive adjectives does not an argument make.

I've already got a SO for VRR. I'm not a Nazi or a right wing American last time I checked...

Winesalot · 13/04/2020 13:37

I have found it very disturbing the constant mentioning of nazi and stasi lately regarding activism and this coronavirus situation. It feels very lazy to keep using it to me. It is like the use of ‘war on ....’ .

OP posts:
SoftDay · 13/04/2020 12:35

I will be making another donation to VRR today. To quote these malignant pricks, "That’s quick and simple activism you can do wherever you are." They will never defeat us.

OhHolyJesus · 13/04/2020 12:32

I have stopped all my monthly donations, including to VRR but I will send a one off to them, in honour of this 'article'. Glad it's been deleted. Medium were quite sensible doing that.

Floisme · 13/04/2020 12:32

Extraordinary piece. I'm trying to limit the amount of scary stuff I read at the moment but for that I will make an exception.

skql · 13/04/2020 12:28

"activists" call everyone nazi!

AlwaysTawnyOwl · 13/04/2020 12:17

You can donate to VRR either monthly or a one off. Cutting off the need for state funding removes one of the levers over them if you are able to afford it.

Winesalot · 13/04/2020 12:11

KenDodd in their ‘about us’ section they seem pretty clear that they support any woman including sex workers. But not transwomen as is their right upheld by the Supreme Court.

OP posts:
anonymousLangFan · 13/04/2020 12:07

if they actually cared about trans identifying people suffering DV they would use all this money and energy to set up their own shelter, where all genders and both sexes could sleep / shower etc together as they wish.

There are other shelters like that in Vancouver. This one is the only one that isn't open to all genders / both sexes. There's even a LBTQ shelter. So it's not at all about not having a shelter, it's about not allowing women to have ANY space where biological males are not included.

FloralBunting · 13/04/2020 12:04

Can we appreciate the open call to violence and intimidation of the women who run VRR, while cautioning not to damage the buildings, so that once the women have been driven out, these people can use them.

Colonization, violence, intimidation, and a cherry on top of caring more about real estate than human beings. Don't anyone ever tell me I need to find a middle ground with those who hold to this ideology. What is the reasonable step beyond "No." to people who think this way?

KenDodd · 13/04/2020 11:59

I don't know anything about this shelter. I assume it is a shelter for women fleeing rape and DV? Does it exclude sex workers?

Lordfrontpaw · 13/04/2020 11:44

No idea. Don’t understand women at all.

NotAGirl · 13/04/2020 11:42

Wow Izaguirre just can't bear the thought of women not being compliant, they must be forced into submission by any means possible including obviously violence

Winesalot · 13/04/2020 11:34

I was not surprised that it was deleted from Medium. I really thought it deserved to be brought out into the sunlight as i saw it as a call to action that will get perpetuated regardless of the deletion.

Grossly irresponsible! This is the definition of hate crime in my eyes, one that it is totally inflammatory and ill conceived.

Lordfrontpaw · 13/04/2020 11:30

The piece has gone now hasn’t it - but screenshotted so allllll over Twitter. That won’t be the end of it - the mask slipped a wee bit there I didn’t it.

Datun · 13/04/2020 11:29

I read that earlier, on Twitter.

Somebody mentioned that there are at least eight other rape refuges in Vancouver which accept transwomen. So it's got fuck all to do with provision.

According to Blanchard, on Twitter, most transactivists are AGP.

Using raped and abused women to validate your fetish or your gender dysphoria is absolutely disgusting.

Fortunately, most people can see that article for the frothing outpourings of a very disturbed individual.

OvaHere · 13/04/2020 11:23

We can’t all be like the heroic woman who came close to delivering a blow for justice on TERF Julie Bindle. Do what you can manage.

"heroic woman" Hmm

ThePonderer · 13/04/2020 11:02

they bitterly clung to their provincial views all the way to Canada’s Supreme Court that unjustly validated their phobia

Somebody wrote that without even for a moment of thinking how absurd it looks? With utter certainty that they know better than their country's highest court? Shock

Ereshkigalangcleg · 13/04/2020 10:51

What a disgusting propaganda piece.

I0NA · 13/04/2020 10:50

Ah @Soontobe60, but it’s not about the feelings of women who have been raped. That’s where you are going wrong. Don’t you understand - their feelings don’t matter because they are hateful Nazi bigots ?

The only thing that matters is the feelings of trans women who want to share private, safe spaces with vulnerable XX women. Remember their feelings must be centred in everything.

Soontobe60 · 13/04/2020 10:47

Bloody hell! That's some vitriol there!
Why would anyone with any common sense not think that allowing trans women access to a woman's rape centre is barmy? The very last thing any woman would want to happen should they have been subjected to a rape would be to access what they consider to be a safe space which is full of trans women. How cruel and traumatic would that be.
The city of Vancouver should be very ashamed of itself right now. Women deserve better.
