Why is there such a large portion of the feminist movement so against trans culture. Trans people have been some of the biggest advocates for supporting allegedly oppressed groups. Why is it suddenly okay to for feminists (a formally oppressed group) to oppress trans people (currently oppressed group) why?

I can’t understand what good the OP thinks feminism does everyday... unless it is fighting for new things for male people to appropriate.

isabellerossignol · 08/04/2020 22:43

Why Datun, what fair maidens in those portraits!

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 08/04/2020 22:43

Also "allegedly oppressed groups". We could do this phrase by phrase.

I guess you are a man. Move on.

You think oppression of women has finished?!

I and the rest of the world must have missed the memo...

FloralBunting · 08/04/2020 22:40

Yes, theres much to unpack there, in the little throwaway goad. People always reveal more than they mean to when they're not on the level...

Datun · 08/04/2020 22:39

Um...

Transphobic attitudes contradict the good feminism does everyday
FloralBunting · 08/04/2020 22:39

Interesting question, Datun. I thought there were only a handful of us who didn't bend the knee. I'm not sure how I feel about called a large portion, but, you know...

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 08/04/2020 22:38

"Trans culture", hmm? I wonder if OP realizes what they just inadvertently admitted there.

Datun · 08/04/2020 22:37

Why is there such a large portion of the feminist movement so against trans culture.

StrangerDaysAhoy · 08/04/2020 22:35

Lord! I have seen the light!! THANK YOU OP you have set me on the path of righteousness for righteousness' sake and I will be delivered unto Him and His ways are mighty.

Turquoiseeyes · 08/04/2020 22:35

It's Blancmange and formerly oppressed.
Do one

What do you mean by 'trans culture' exactly? Feminists are or should be against transgender ideology because it is scientifically unsupportable, misogynistic and homophobic and it is hurting women and children right now.

Trans people have been some of the biggest advocates for supporting allegedly oppressed groups.

Really? Hadn't noticed. Have noticed a great many of them being responsible for the worst abuse against women I've seen online and some violence IRL not to mention crushing young women's dreams of sporting success.

Why is it suddenly okay to for feminists (a formally oppressed group) to oppress trans people (currently oppressed group) why?

How exactly do you think feminists are oppressing trans people? Do you see us telling trans people to die in fires? Do you see us policing how they speak? Displacing them in sports events and cheating them
out of medals? Depriving women and girls of their privacy, dignity and feeling safe by demanding access to their spaces? Please enlighten me.

School's out for summer early?

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 08/04/2020 22:28

OP must be away to chat to his/her friends to see what else they can tell us off about, in order to make us feel angry/ashamed/bored.

PositiveVibez · 08/04/2020 22:25

Hope you're enjoying your little fishing expedition OP.

Don't think you'll get anyone to bite though.

Pretty pathetic really.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 08/04/2020 22:24

Trans people have been some of the biggest advocates for supporting allegedly oppressed groups.

Oh please. Only if they’re centred in every single oppressed group. I would roll by eyes so far back, but then I’d see my grey roots.

chilling19 · 08/04/2020 22:23

Again?

titchy · 08/04/2020 22:15

I think the OP said 'formally oppressed' so I presume it's all done in black tie and dinner gowns.

Well spotted Grin

titchy · 08/04/2020 22:14

Trans people have been some of the biggest advocates for supporting allegedly oppressed groups.

Presumably OP is referring to men as an allegedly oppressed group?

FloralBunting · 08/04/2020 22:13

Ruffle, don't mind me, your point was very sound. I'm just struggling with low mood and I tend to shore it up with humour Smile

RuffleCrow · 08/04/2020 22:10

Yeah sorry, i have a bad habit of translating numptyspeak into meaningful English - i don't even realise i'm doing it Grin @floralbunting

FloralBunting · 08/04/2020 22:07

Not round my way they're not. Much reduced bus service - bored illiterate TRAs are much more numerous.

MrsSnippyPants · 08/04/2020 22:05

These threads are like buses.....
