Transphobic attitudes contradict the good feminism does everyday

Why is there such a large portion of the feminist movement so against trans culture. Trans people have been some of the biggest advocates for supporting allegedly oppressed groups. Why is it suddenly okay to for feminists (a formally oppressed group) to oppress trans people (currently oppressed group) why?

But yeah it's a hot humid climate thing, started in Taiwan.

TinselAngel · 09/04/2020 00:01

Oh I'd assumed it was warm. Still don't want lumpy milky tea cold.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 09/04/2020 00:00

Yep, iced tea! You can get it hot if you want but yuck.

TinselAngel · 09/04/2020 00:00

I think bubble tea is more of a thing in cities with a high population of students from the Far East, isn't it? (Are we still allowed to call China Etc that?)

I don't fancy it. (Lumpy warm milkshake, when I don't even like non lumpy, cold milkshake Envy)

FloralBunting · 09/04/2020 00:00

Oh my good god.

Milky tea with fruit juice and tapioca? That is dry fecking boak inducing.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/04/2020 23:59

Jelly in tea? So the tea is cold?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 08/04/2020 23:59

I'm not knocking British style tea but it's not really the thing you want if it's hot and humid and you're walking around in the sun. Bubble tea comes with ice.

IAmFleshIAmBone · 08/04/2020 23:59

I haven't had a pearl milk tea in about ten years, this thread is making me very nostalgic, thanks OP!

FloralBunting · 08/04/2020 23:58
Shock
TheProdigalKittensReturn · 08/04/2020 23:58

It's called tea because the liquid bit is made of tea, usually. Sometimes they mix it with fruit juice.

IAmFleshIAmBone · 08/04/2020 23:58

Sorry yes, it's made with tea, hence the name. Usually milky I think, I've only seen them made with milk

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 08/04/2020 23:57

Sometimes instead of the tapioca it has jelly. DH loves the kind called grass jelly, which is not made of grass - no idea what it's flavored with actually but it's good, though I prefer the coconut jelly.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/04/2020 23:57

I'm in Lancashire. Rural. Proper tea shops though we usually take a flask.

Why would anyone want tea with a straw and bits in?Confused

FloralBunting · 08/04/2020 23:57

Why is it called tea?

IAmFleshIAmBone · 08/04/2020 23:56

It's actually really delicious although it doesn't sound it

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 08/04/2020 23:56

It's just tea, often with milk and usually sweetened, with big balls of tapioca in it. Much loved by teenagers in most of Asia.

IAmFleshIAmBone · 08/04/2020 23:55

Bubble tea or pearl milk tea, it's a drink made from milk, kind of like a milkshake, and has tapioca balls in the bottom, like little round jellies

FloralBunting · 08/04/2020 23:55

I don't want to google. I'm.having a conversation with women who clearly know what bubble tea is so I'm asking.

I am trepidacious.

isabellerossignol · 08/04/2020 23:55

I've hung round these parts for years and was familiar with LangCleg but had somehow missed the weetabix business. Sounds OK to me. I was about 25 before I discovered that it was normal to eat Weetabix cold. My mum only ever gave it to me with hot milk, so that's just how I always had it too!

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 08/04/2020 23:54

So bubble tea isn't a thing where you are yet, Floral and Errol? You can't go more than a few streets without tripping over a shop here.

R0wantrees · 08/04/2020 23:53

Do you remember blancmange rabbits with green jelly grass?

Oh yes, only for special treats like birthdays though.
A lovely memory, thank you.

Postspecific · 08/04/2020 23:53

What? Where did Lang go?

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 08/04/2020 23:53

7? I used to do 2 and I'm not known for small portions.

ErrolTheDragon · 08/04/2020 23:53

I've just had to google 'bubble tea' .Confused

Postspecific · 08/04/2020 23:53

You can’t self-define into oppression, you mad bastard.
