Richard Firth suspended from Green Party

Richard Firth, who made the covert recording of the woman sharing very personal information, posted about 'petrifying some terfs' and chanted 'I'd rather be a pervert than a terf', has been suspended from the Green Party for a year and banned from holding office for a further two years. It's not known if the reason for his suspension is the same or different to the above complaints.

I am in Yorkshire and going to conference this weekend. I will see if I can get any info on Dickie and report back. Then name change!

stealtheatingtunnocks · 06/03/2023 21:34

And suspended again,
maybe Beth’s dirt isn’t rich enough.

The Lib Dem leader keeps getting linked with “did you do it for Beth?” On his Twitter. He said he’d never met Beth, it is all very odd indeed. Beth’s sad suspension tweet

stealtheatingtunnocks · 06/03/2023 21:30

I can’t find the speech - can you link?

KatMcBundleFace · 06/03/2023 08:47

Ah, trip down red flag lane.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 06/03/2023 07:25

Can't imagine what he's done.

Beth Douglas, meanwhile, has been reinstated as rainbow green head in Scottish Greens.

HagoftheNorth · 06/03/2023 05:52

This thread was worth resurrecting, not just for the info about members of the Green Party, but to highlight Sarah Field’s magnificent speech. That should be required reading in PHSE (local acronyms apply!) classes

Codlingmoths · 06/03/2023 01:09

I’m blocked from his Twitter. I’m not usually on any block lists that I’m aware, maybe that’s changed!

WomanXXWorldsOriginsofMothersofAllNations · 06/03/2023 00:08

Green Party member still listed on his Twitter bio…

Agree that if he has been kicked out, it must be bad!

Update! I have head on the grapevine that Richard Firth was kicked out of the Green Party. No idea when or why, but it must have been very serious.
Does anyone in the Greens have information about this?

Tatatan · 04/02/2021 01:45

Richard Firth is not suspended any longer. He was re-admitted about a month ago, apparently having won an appeal against the suspension.

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/07/2020 14:56

As I just mentioned on the other thread, when signing up you get to state what you consider to be the single most important issue Smile

midclegs · 21/07/2020 13:17

I will be signing up well; we have until July 31st to be eligible to vote.

Menaimum · 21/07/2020 13:12

Rowantrees thanks for sharing that Fields speech that is awesome to read.

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/07/2020 13:08

I've just signed up solely to vote. I may stay, depending on the outcome.

If you're not in employment (I'm retired) or are a student it's £6.00 for annual membership.

OhHolyJesus · 21/07/2020 13:03

As Greenie says the Greens need help is holding back the tide, many have left and won't return. If anyone can sign up for £3 a month, vote and then cancel the DD if it doesn't go right in the elections.

Given my political homelessness it's worth a try.

Forgivenandsetfree · 21/07/2020 12:52

What a great speech. It's hard for me to understand how anyone could think that it was hate speech, it's quite the opposite!
No-one is saying they can't be whoever they want to be, if you are 'trans' then thats who you are, not a woman but a trans-woman. That's not hate, or an opinion, that's fact

Campervan69 · 21/07/2020 12:33

Sharar Ali is going for leader. Heres his statement. We should all join and vote for him and Andrea

GreenieFingers · 21/07/2020 12:21

The overwhelming majority of GPEW members are not beguiled by trans activism. Obviously, they would care about the lives and welfare of others, whether GPEW members or not. However they are also completely fed up with the bludgeoning tactics used by the TRAs within GPEW, to force their sole agenda through.

The invasion is not by people who give a damn about the environment or the future of the plant. Nor do they care about women and our rights. Quite the opposite, in fact.
We need help with this from all directions and this support needs to include calling out the GPEW leadership and other Woke infiltrators. For a political party to base itself in the fundamental principles of kindness and caring, both for people and the environment, the leadership is determined to allow some appalling behaviour in the name of 'kindness' towards trans people (not that this is a negative in itself), all directed at the gender critical membership who are silenced and stamped out where possible.
We really do understand science, biology and the importance of language. It is a small but vocal and powerful minority who are wiping this out of the GPEW.
I hope that Cleo will clarify her position on this and that she will be brave enough to risk the backlash by stating the fact that sex is immutable and women are adult human females.

Andrea is very definitely on the side of common sense.

The other three are exactly as you can hear for yourselves.
All support to our collective elbow is very welcome.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/07/2020 09:47

As far as I know all these five are up for Deputy Leader.

Justhadathought · 21/07/2020 09:44

If your political movement is predicated on understanding and being respectful of the earth, nature and natural rhythms, then you must surely recognise the reality of biology. As human beings we may well have spent several hundreds of years trying to transcend biology; conquer and control the earth, but when it really comes down to it we are still creatures of earth - like all of the others.

ShangaLangCleg · 21/07/2020 00:42

@Campervan69 - is Andrea Carey Fuller up for the same vacant position as the others?

It would be interesting to have a list of the vacancies and the candidates.

You might even convince me to re-join if I thought there was a chance for my vote to be effective and the Greens to get back to some sort of normality. There is no Planet B and climate emergency issues are going to be rising to the fore increasingly over the next months and years. I left because of the whole gender identity takeover. I'd only been in the Greens for a year and was very disillusioned. It was crazy reading about non-men and bizarre statements about people being more than their biology, but not agreeing that it's only our biology that makes us men or women.

I would help the Greens only if I believed the core members really don't support the Woke Leadership.

Campervan69 · 20/07/2020 22:39

However there is hope. If you join the Green Party you can vote in all the decent people.

OhHolyJesus · 20/07/2020 18:49

It's funny isn't it as otherwise the whole climate change thing is errr...based on science.

ShangaLangCleg · 20/07/2020 18:22

It's about time that the Greens understood a bit about biology and women's rights as well as the dictionary.

The idiocy here is incredible, although I have it on reasonable (fingers crossed) authority that Cleo is less taken in by the gender-woo than the others. Amelia is a complete lost cause and the men are clowns.
