Men pushing in in queues and not social distancing.

I know in the scheme of things this is only small but its the bloody entitlement that gets to me.

When the new Coronavirus Bill came in last Thursday two men used the 2 m gap to try to push in front while i was queuing outside Tesco.

Re, social distancing , i try i really try to stay 2m from people at all times on the rare occasions but the amount of men who walk right next to me or towards me KNOWING that i will move.

This afternoon was the final straw Queuing outside Sainsburys observing the 2 m rule i had to wait until the queue moved to where the trolleys were . There was no way i could get to them BEFORE queuing and observe the 2m rule so i had to wait in the queue before i got to them. I leant across to put my pound in the slot and the FOUR men queuing behind me jumped the queue by moving along in front.

Im so fed up with the entitlement Every time its been a man EVERY TIME. Ive not seen this from women at all .

Well, I'm not among those who simply "don't like people", so...

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 04/04/2020 12:10

So it's unacceptable for me to pass comment, but not the rest of you

You can pass comment, and others may or may not comment on it

Its a relatively fast thread

Errol is as usual the voice of calm wisdom that I most likely am never going to grow up to emulate

I think you are confusing "calm wisdom" for "just ignore any comment which doesn't support the FWR consensus"

DidoLamenting · 04/04/2020 12:06

I think this thread confirms that if one has a personal bias one will be looking for confirmation of it.

Several posters here clearly think men are selfish, incompetent idiots who are obsessed with and lie about the size of their penises and that women can do no wrong.

My experience is that I haven't found either sex behaving in the way complained of but that a small number of men have apologised for being in the way when they weren't.

I don't like people- it's not as if I've been giving anyone the benefit of the doubt so I'll have to assume the people I've encountered have been behaving.

Comicshadows · 04/04/2020 12:05

So it's unacceptable for me to pass comment, but not the rest of you? Why not just ignore me?

TedsFederationRep · 04/04/2020 12:03

I'm not sure if I'm enjoying the merailing or not.

Meanwhile, I've never heard of Matriarchy Chicken but I have seen the same behaviours described by OP and others.

Comicshadows · 04/04/2020 12:02

Can someone please explain to me what I've done wrong?

Comicshadows · 04/04/2020 12:01

Ok, you weren't calling anyone that!

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 04/04/2020 12:01

Here's a notmyNigel for you - my DH pointed out that it was mostly men doing it before I did. When the lads came up behind us at the light and stood so close it was like we were all packed into a lift.

Unsure of the putting people off feminism status of this comment.

BeetrootRocks · 04/04/2020 12:00

I wasn't calling anyone that Confused

ErrolTheDragon · 04/04/2020 12:00

Engaging with merailers is perhaps verging towards stupid.Wink

Though on a Saturday morning with no place to go, why not.

Comicshadows · 04/04/2020 12:00

Sorry @BeetrootRocks, I reread your post and saw it wasn't me you were calling fucking stupid.

DidoLamenting · 04/04/2020 12:00

SarahTancredi

I just need "not my nigel" for a full house

Oh hang on ...

Completely irrelevant- as are the sneering NAMALT comments. The thread was started by Helena giving her account of personal experience. If Helena's personal experiences are valid so are other personal experiences.

I’ve definitely noticed an increase in the amount of men on the phone in the supermarket standing in front of items going ‘They have the blue and the red... no, light blue... which one??’ It’s incredibly annoying as they usually don’t seem to realise that they’re blocking the whole aisle. I suppose you could argue that maybe the woman on the other end is unreasonably specific on which items she wants, but it’s still possible to be aware of the world going on around you.

In terms of joggers though, I’ve found that women are WAY worse! Men seem to generally just run in the road no matter what, making distancing easy. Women (I don’t know if they’re mainly new ones who’d usually go to the gym) are determined to stay on the path no matter what, even when you’re on the inside and literally are trapped with nowhere to go. Walkers too... I’ve spoken to a few friends/family and it’s a common theme that women out and about seem to be unable to give and take when it comes to distancing at the moment. No idea why!

BeetrootRocks · 04/04/2020 11:58

He's not a crazed feminazi.

Maybe citing a male view will carry more weight Grin

Comicshadows · 04/04/2020 11:58

Once again, it wasn't me who brought up NAMALT, I was just trying to understand a posters reaction to it.

BeetrootRocks · 04/04/2020 11:57

In my experience it has been mainly men and once I pointed it out to DH he started noticing as well.

Comicshadows · 04/04/2020 11:56

I'll say it again, in my experience this isn't a sex issue, it's an issue that some people are just selfish, ignorant and oblivious to others. Last time I went to the supermarket everyone seemed to be trying their best to get their shopping and leave. I was lucky enough to go one evening when it was very quite and I didn't experience any pushing in or entitled attitude from anyone.

RufustheLanglovingreindeer · 04/04/2020 11:56

Not you, Rufus, your random interjections are one of the best parts of FWR

Grin
BeetrootRocks · 04/04/2020 11:56

You haven't expressed any opinions about the actual topic so I can't say what I thing of them, for a start.

BeetrootRocks · 04/04/2020 11:55

WTF

I haven't called anyone fucking stupid on this thread.

An example might be, I think people who believe everything trump says is fact, are.. well fucking stupid isn't a phrase I use much at all tbh. Doesn't feel natural to type it.

I don't think you understand what I said. At no point have I said that to anyone on the thread.

You asked for comments about that, I've commented, now you have decided I've said something I haven't???

SarahTancredi · 04/04/2020 11:55

It's ironic how any talk of things men do, one example of one man brings about cries of NAMALT and accusations of man hating.

Yet one feminist can apparently turn someone off all feminism altogether?

So you are saying All feminists are like that..

Erm..

Personally I think if a person wants to learn they will. Most if the time they have no intention they just want an.excuse to run back to fa e book or reddit or wherever and condemn all feminists

Well they never seem to have a problem using it taking what they would never have had if these pesky feminist women hadn't kicked up a fuss decades ago.

Gets old. Seen it all before.

If we could at some point get back to the topic of the thread that would be grand.
