Rich celebrities produce lockdown video denouncing 'transphobia'

They include Kathleen Ryan, Stephen Fry, Frankie Boyle, Jameela Jamil, Dawn Butler, Matt Lucas, Jeremy Vine and Susie Green.

None of them explain what transphobia actually is, or what a trans person is or what a woman is, but some of the comments include Ryan saying 'there are weirdos out there who care about what bathroom you use' (presumably Ryan believes the mother of the girl Katie Dolatowski sexually assaulted in a supermarket girls' toilet is a 'weirdo') and Stephen Fry, who spent about a decade mocking creationists on QI, saying that trans people just want to be their authentic selves, without offering any scientific support to what he was saying.

And they've made this video as we're now entering more than 200 deaths per day in the UK due to coronavirus.

Fry has always been a massive misogynist so no surprise there.

Ryan is completely self absorbed. Her 'comedy's is very mean girl. Like she thinks other women are stupid.

This is a quote from Trevor Phillips talking in March about Suzanne Moore's colleagues who signed that letter against her, but it could equally apply here or any number of countless smug sleb virtue signalling instances.

"Their campaign is all about themselves".

He calls it "liberal narcissism".

Wasn't Katherine Ryan at FILIA?

DaydreamingDay · 31/03/2020 11:22

When Paris Lees was on the BBC Jeremy Vine radio programme, Vine was embarrassing in his drooling, sycophancy...he was practically pawing all over Lees. I got the distinct impression Vine has a secret lust for these men.

Just watched Susie Green at 36 mins.
Her child was assigned male at birth.

Mermaids charity is still available at the moment via email and a helpline if children want a chat with them.

Chilling

littlbrowndog · 31/03/2020 11:15

48 minutes long ffs. That’s a movie.

Bout time they did a 48 minutes long video on women and girls being murdered by the very people who are meant to love them

That’s the women and girls who are getting murdered at the rate of nearly 3 a week
Will they fuck ever do that Nope nope nope

No points for doing that

Tossers the lot of them.

koshkatt · 31/03/2020 11:13

And in the real world people are dying in their thousands in a global pandemic.

I have no words for the degree of contempt I feel for these utter arseholes.

Oliversmumsarmy · 31/03/2020 11:09

Not watched the video

A. It is 48 minutes long

B. The fake tinkly voice got on my nerves after 1 word.

C. You sort of know what it is about. A bit of moaning how particular people they know find it hard and nothing about how the majority feel or how it all impacts on their lives.

A bit like why can’t my friend do this or that. It’s not fair

Are that list of people “celebrities” at least a couple I have never heard of.

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 31/03/2020 11:08

I should think so BringBackLang a nice bit of 'education' and you can make your own video about the poor lambs Grin

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 31/03/2020 11:07

I wont watch that but the ‘comedians” make me so so cross - jesters have the freedom to speak truth to power

WrathofFaeKIopp · 31/03/2020 11:05

I can't bear to watch the non-medically trained Susie Green.

the idea of men looking a bit feminine secretly freaks them out

Not sure about that, I think they are secretly attracted to feminine men.
Jeremy Vine clearly demonstrates this.

nevermorelenore · 31/03/2020 11:01

I thought Matt Lucas had long been cancelled thanks to Little Britain's jokes about being a ladyeee and the Thai lady boy stuff. I mean it also had people in blackface, sexism and sneering at the working class, but nobody seems to give a shit about that stuff anymore.

SirVixofVixHall · 31/03/2020 11:01

Ryan has a daughter, is she really ok with having her daughter change for swimming along side an adult male ?
I am also baffled by any gay man getting behind this.

BringbackLang · 31/03/2020 10:59

My bad Mrs Doyle. How dare I forget. Off to the gulag for me Grin

Lordfrontpaw · 31/03/2020 10:56

I wonder what the 'rarara' parents would actually do if their child detransitioned?

SirVixofVixHall · 31/03/2020 10:55

I had to stop as soon as Susie Green popped up.

WrathofFaeKIopp · 31/03/2020 10:54

I for one am hugely relieved that these slebs have fully embraced the adage "give 'em enough rope..."

Oh yes.

Lordfrontpaw · 31/03/2020 10:53

Do these groups ever ever ever speak up for anyone else? The domestic murder rate will definitely rise because of lockdown - but do they give a shit? Will they make a nice little video about this? Actual murder rather than someone having their feelings hurt or getting into an argument with their mum and dad?

SirVixofVixHall · 31/03/2020 10:53

I don’t know if I can cope with watching that..
re Jeremy Vine, I have found that a few very conventional men I know think of trans issues as accepting men who look feminine as actual women, because the idea of men looking a bit feminine secretly freaks them out.

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 31/03/2020 10:52

And no, I didn't watch it. Even on furlough I don't have time for that shit.

WrathofFaeKIopp · 31/03/2020 10:52

Oncewasblueandyellowtwo
Are they saying that Bowie was trans?

Bowie did his own unique thing in his own unique way.
Bowie didn't conform to gender stereotypes therefore he wasn't trans.

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 31/03/2020 10:51

Come on now BringBackLang. Transgender people are the most vulnerable and marginalised members of our society. Lisa Nandy told us so.

Stop indulging the elderly and unwell, the poor and the destitute, those living in fear in their own home, those who don't know how they'll keep a roof over their heads. Those poor kids who spent 11 years of their lives studying for exams they'll never get to take and now face a world of uncertanty.

None of those people need to worry about whether hair dye is an essential item and if people will still see their authentic selves when their lippy runs out, or even if people will still fawn over them when the mask starts to slip, have a heart now.

BovaryX · 31/03/2020 10:51

Are they saying that Bowie was trans?

Got to admit, I didn't make beyond the introduction, but Bowie had more talent in a toenail clipping than this assortment of clowns combined....

Barracker · 31/03/2020 10:51

I for one am hugely relieved that these slebs have fully embraced the adage "give 'em enough rope..."

Sometimes people illustrate their utter vacuous narcissm so perfectly during a time of national and global crisis, that you can simply sit back and leave them to it. Observers who once might have indulged their self obsession in easier times, watch now and think wtaf.

Spectacular own goals abound.

Lordfrontpaw · 31/03/2020 10:48

Well the usuals suspects I assume, or people with thick PRs. Anyone remember Brass Eye 'Cake'?
