A few questions for feminists

  1. Why is feminism so small in number? They get plenty of airtime but it isn't catching on. Women know about it so why no support?
  1. Feminists want equality of opportunity and equality of outcome but how can you have both when it's impossible? You want to give women choice, but then want exactly 50% of men and women in each industry. This can only be achieved by forcing women (and men) to do jobs they don't want to or choose to do. Explain?
  1. Why do you think the earnings difference is due to gender when time and time again it has been shown it has nothing or very little to do with it. Why feminists not take into account the 40 or so factors which affect earnings, such as men are more likely to work longer hours, do more overtime, take less holidays, work more dangerous jobs, willing to relocate, willing to commute further, etc etc?

Please discuss.

I've only had one MRI scan and to my shame had a full on panic attack in there, so maybe getting flayed and having every bone in my body broken would be the better option after all.

isabellerossignol · 19/03/2020 20:12

By which I mean I knew it would be a raging disappointment, almost certainly from the world's most mediocre man

The world's most mediocre man? Is it Donald? Shock

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 19/03/2020 20:10

I saw the title and knew it wouldn't be a disappointment.

I shall now get my popcorn and see if I was right.

I've not RTFT but this is weird ... just now on a (very) different thread a reference has occurred to recipes being shared at about midnight on FWR . The recipe cited was dishwasher vodka.

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 19/03/2020 20:04

Oh, cross post there. I do have a pet python (albeit one who's not big enough to swallow anyone) and I thought of him suddenly when I was undergoing an MRI scan, so that's what I think it might be like.

Clevererthanyou · 19/03/2020 20:03

The Welsh word for bear is arth 🥰

isabellerossignol · 19/03/2020 20:02

I've never seen the Revenant. Is there an option for the grizzly bear to cuddle me to death instead of disembowelling me with its claws?

MrsTerryPratchett · 19/03/2020 20:01

New question - what would you rather be eaten by, a grizzly bear or a reticulated python?

100% bear. Quick ripped off head, Bobs your uncle. Slow squeeze no thanks.

PlanDeRaccordement · 19/03/2020 20:01
  1. Why is feminism so small... Only 10% of women say they are feminist because feminism is not a monolith. There are many splinter groups who are essentially feminist but call themselves by more detailed names.
  1. Feminists want equality of opportunity and equality of outcome...
I am a feminist and I do not want equality of outcome. Not all feminists agree on that.
  1. Why do you think the earnings difference is due to gender...
I don’t think the gap is purely due to gender (and it’s really sex not gender, it is mis-named). The calculation for it is too top level and does not adjust for the other factors you listed. It doesn’t adjust for even basic differences like education, additional qualifications, experience in the field, performance results, hours worked, fringe benefits like company cars and expense accounts, etc etc. But because sexism does exist, some of the gap IS due to sex. Instead of companies reporting a top level meaningless “gender gap” calculation, id rather see full scale equality audits done every third year in order to be listened to operate as an employer of more than fifty employees.

I feel quite honoured to have been around to engage with the Midnight Misogynist, as normally I'm in bed when he strikes. God, that sounded all kinds of wrong.

isabelle I have to say, I think it would be more painful to be mauled with hooked claws than it would to be suffocated and then swallowed whole. Have you seen The Revenant?

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 19/03/2020 20:00

After watching The Revenant Isabella I'm not so sure.

I wonder if being eaten by a python would feel like being stuck in a sleeping bag, which I think I could cope with.

isabellerossignol · 19/03/2020 19:58

Does any workplace still have admin girls?
I think imaginary ones do?

OP of course has never had a job, because his mum buys everything for him. But he's watched Mad Men so he knows all about the office life.

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 19/03/2020 19:58

Gosh I kinda miss old school misogyny. I'm so bored of the current crop of wokescolds.

TorkTorkBam · 19/03/2020 19:55

Does any workplace still have admin girls?

LadyQuarantinaPluckington · 19/03/2020 19:55

God, it gladness the heart to see a good old fashioned bloke stride in and whack his cock on the table with a demand to discuss. And then have MNHQ whack his sorry arse out the door for time wasting goadiness and trollery.

It fair makes me nostalgic for a time when MNHQ did that for all the goady fuckers with anti woman agenda, but I imagine they're really hard to spot these days, what with the confusing gender identities and all.

isabellerossignol · 19/03/2020 19:53

Oh a grizzly bear, definitely. If I'm going to be killed by a wild animal I want it to be an adorable one.

TorkTorkBam · 19/03/2020 19:53

No admin girls coming over to me and flirting when working from home, I like the attention and I miss it.

Maybe he is that sleazeball husband on the thread in relationships who forces his friendship on the girls in the office.

isabellerossignol · 19/03/2020 19:52

'Women! I need attention! Stop what you're doing and pay attention to me! I said PAY ATTENTION TO ME! How dare you not pay attention to me. Angry'

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 19/03/2020 19:51

I would ask the OP what's missing from his life that this is how he chooses to spend his time, but I think we all know the answer to that.

New question - what would you rather be eaten by, a grizzly bear or a reticulated python?

Redshoeblueshoe · 19/03/2020 19:50

Clara Grin

MrsTerryPratchett · 19/03/2020 19:50

Make up some nonsense, pretend it is true and demand some women browsing a forum discuss?

Yeah. The world turns, we're on the brink of a global apocalypse but trolls be trolling. It's so reassuring.

MrsDoylesTeaBags · 19/03/2020 19:50

Bahahahahahahahahahahah......ahahahahahaha whoo boy, that's a good 'un
