A few questions for feminists

  1. Why is feminism so small in number? They get plenty of airtime but it isn't catching on. Women know about it so why no support?
  1. Feminists want equality of opportunity and equality of outcome but how can you have both when it's impossible? You want to give women choice, but then want exactly 50% of men and women in each industry. This can only be achieved by forcing women (and men) to do jobs they don't want to or choose to do. Explain?
  1. Why do you think the earnings difference is due to gender when time and time again it has been shown it has nothing or very little to do with it. Why feminists not take into account the 40 or so factors which affect earnings, such as men are more likely to work longer hours, do more overtime, take less holidays, work more dangerous jobs, willing to relocate, willing to commute further, etc etc?

Please discuss.

Why don't we discuss the excellent points I'm raising instead of attacking me personally or talking about food. Credibility of feminists, well this thread says it all, look at your attitudes.

Look at this interview.

Feminists think there is only cause for earnings difference. Reality shows there are many many factors. Why are feminists not understanding this? Are they not understanding or are they understanding but choosing not to acknowledge?

Please explain.

The girls I know are not feminists, they dislike feminists because they genuinely think you are ruining many things for them.

Ruining what exactly? Where are all these women that yearn for the days when they couldn't own property or be financially independent? Who are desperate not to be able to vote, and wish that it was still legal for their husband to beat them?

Call me cynical but I don't think they exist.

Oh that's a great point Eoin, and seven fingers would make me even more clumsy that I already am. Although I would be good for waving now we can't shake hands or hug, and would be good for fanning myself when I have a hot flush
