I heard on the radio this morning his legal team were asking that his age, health and "contribution to the film industry" were taken into account on sentencing. A WTF moment.

Wow. That’s surprising. So his fake bad back/heart/concussion didn’t do the trick and he couldn’t buy his way out of jail either. Brilliant. I hope the law isn’t the same as over here where sentences are usually halved and then halved again with a tag.

This is wonderful news. Does it not make you wonder, though, why most men (in Ireland and the UK and Europe, not sure of the US system) seem to get such small sentences for rape and sexual assault that this seems so extraordinary?
