Yes, really. He retweeted Zoe Williams article as a ‘powerful defense (sic) of trans rights’ and has gone on in replies to demonstrate he has zero understanding of what the issues are here. Keeps complaining about ‘negative stereotypes’. He’s stuck way back in ‘be kind, men are nasty to transsexuals in prison so let anyone self-identify into women’s prison’.

Many women & some men well on the way to ratio-ing him, but will he listen?

I used to love Billy Bragg but he’s deep in the Labour cult so this was always going to happen.

Men like Bragg seem to be able to write off "Karen White" as a terrible error by the prison service, which should not be used to argue against trans rights. Lots of people do. Vulnerable women simply do not matter as much as people's right to live their "authentic lives" Hmm

I think Blanchard's work should be made more public - but he is vehemently silenced by the TRAs - for obvious reasons. TRAs do not want to admit that a lot of late transitioning MTFs are autogynephiles.

Like many left wing men who romanticise traditional working class stereotypes, Billy views women as helpmeets to support men who are doing the important work.

Has Billy ever heard of Karen White? A look at that mugshot, and the record of assaults whilst in the female estate might give him a different perspective on who really deserves compassion.

I'm not surprised - Mr Protest-Singer is like many left wing men, just doesn't see women's rights as an issue.

Isn't it weird that "biology" has almost become a dirty word amongst the woke? I do wonder where that will lead to - I and doubt it will be good for women. The narrative seems to be "you wanted equality - this is equality with men, everything's gender neutral, and anyone can be a woman now, and women don't even have to be women anymore!" Like we can opt out of it if we want, almost like we are choosing or identifying with our own oppression.

Yet another one who tweets about compassion etc then disposes as soon as the well thought out , sensible , non threatening genuine points are posted.

Haven't they learnt now they just look stupid.

Mind you nothing beats the "get in the bin" idior...

He even said he's 'troubled' by a woman who doesn't have 'compassion' for a rapist who would want to be moved to a women's prison and said he finds women who don't want men to compete in women's sports competitions are 'discriminatory'.

I saw him on Newsnight before the election saying Labour would win, I read his article on the election defeat which was full of inaccuracies and concluded that the electorate love Labour and hate Brexit (I say that as a remainer).

He comes across as a deluded misogynist.

Unfortunately Twitter is just such a terrible place to have these conversations. I wish people of influence like Billy would research the issues, watch some videos (that's how I got started - by watching WPUK videos) and not just splurge half formulated thoughts across Twitter. It's so unhelpful.
