Gotta be honest, I've never seen the appeal of Billy Bragg, always thought his songs were crap - forced lyrics, preachy tone, seemingly no interest or ability with poetic devices. Horrible voice, mediocre guitarist, really unoriginal melodies. Now that I know he's also a misogynist he has even less appeal. Twat.

After something like this the old school misogynists actually look like the lesser of two evils. At least with them you're not having someone trying to gaslight you while feeling virtuous about it.

He is just another bloke who thinks that women only exist to validate and protect males, not as their own separate entity with their own rights. He thinks women only exist in relation to men and what they need.

I’ve commented on twitter like others but it’s actually a bit demeaning, almost sad to see so many women desperately seeking his approval, begging him to listen - he is ONE man, ONE bloody man. Only plus is that in these cases generally it’s the gallery that’s being addressed - the lurkers, the waverers, the policy makers, media etc,

I've always had a lot of respect for Billy Bragg. This disappoints me but doesn't surprise me, he's been Labour for 40 years, he's not going to go against the party now. He'd loose all his friends, colleagues and a lot of fans. He's not that brave, he's only a man after all.
