That would be AesopsFable’s suggestion from a different thread not this one and I won’t post the picture as it still makes my skin crawl... as does the organization.

I’d love some stickers ... but not the insanely scary mermaid stickers that AesopsFable suggested.... they were nightmarish...

However, the other unique coffee swilling mermaid kind would be great or I might track down some Woman definition ones.

Happy IWD and thank you to MN, and this board, as in my 50s I have suddenly found myself to be a fervent feminist. I spent my earlier decades thinking that the lovely women of earlier years had fought the good fight and the battles were all won, and that I and my daughters would be able to enjoy equality etc.
I am terrified by the dissolution of hard won women's rights and will fight to preserve those that exist and push for those that do not, so my daughter and grand daughters can live feeling safe that the lovely women of earlier years made a safe fair world for them to live in.

There are some women I love and a lot who make me laugh but there are also some I don't much like or trust and some whom frankly, I cannot stand.
And I'm sure there are some who would say the same about me, which is fine.
We're not perfect, we're just adult human females, nothing more, nothing less.

Raising my glass to each and every one, the activists, the explainers and thinkers and the lurkers who are keeping the numbers up.

On another note, I notice BBC Sport has an article about how female athletes have periods! It's 2020, saying that women are not men is deemed an attack yet the BBC has noticed that women have different bodies to men. Who'd have thunk it?

I don't think we can underestimate the importance that this feminist board has played in getting the information out there and educating thousands upon thousands of us. I for one would like to thank you all for my education.

I'm not concerned about TWAW trending. When you actually look at the hashtag, a large proportion of tweets are disagreeing with that statement. I actually feel quite positive about it. Trending might not mean much but if it raises the issue for some people not usually involved in the conversation, it's a positive.

Twitter is a sewer, but it also had this thread from @therestofus5 today which I think is AMAZING, number 4 in particular sang to me.

TWAW is trending on twitter today

We really, really , really need to stop giving a shit what Twitter says. Twitter winks at paedophiles and is the single worst medium for conversation humans have ever conceived.

I adore women, with all our faults and foibles.

I love strong women, I love weak women, I love women who have all their shit together, I love women who muddle through and do their best, I love women who muck up and try and pull it round again. I love women who are feminine, I love women who are butch, I love women who care about their appearance, and women who aren't fussed. I love women who are feminists and have been for decades. I love women who have been feminists for five minutes because they had an epiphany. I love women who actively reject the feminist label but still stand for women. I love women who are not feminists and have never understood it, and I even love the women that think feminists are their enemy.

Feminism is for you. If you are a woman, it is the collective endeavour to liberate you and your daughters, to make your lives better. You don't have to agree with every other woman about everything, and you don't have to shut up and conform. Investigate, think for yourself, lift yourself and your sisters and never think that your voice means nothing.

Chin up, wims. We're still going ❤
