A shame so many media outlets are repeating the 'alleged' lie about this convicted sex offender.

He should have been imprisoned as per his conviction.

Instead he ran away.

He drugged and anally raped a 14yo.

There isn't much of s grey area there.

He should have been put on trial in the States

He was. Found guilty, he asked for bail pending sentencing because he had a film to finish. He never came back.

I find him utterly repellant in that video, but what is to be done with someone like this? He should have been put on trial in the States, but it doesn't look like that's ever going to happen. I don't think he should be honoured at all, but should he be prevented from making films completely? I ask this very reluctantly as a fan of his work, and for discussion rather than to defend or put forward a case. I really don't want to be insensitive to anyone who's been through this kind of abuse, and I admire the actresses for walking out, but when it comes to barring someone who's a creative genius from their profession I don't know what the answer is, and I don't think the industry does either.

Have watched some of the interview. He genuinely thinks it's the norm for men to want that, right?
I hope he is wrong.

Mockersisrightasusual · 29/02/2020 11:24

And the lining himself up for comparison with Dreyfus is not exactly subtle.

I'd never seen that before, Mockers
It's so disturbing to watch. He openly confesses it so easily because he's convinced what he did was and should be acceptable.

Repellent, paedophilie abuser.
I wish someone would project soundclips from that interview everywhere that evil man goes.
I knew she was thirteen because she talked about her birthday.
I like young girls.
It went too far.
Some states have the age of consent of twelve.
If you saw her sitting next to me you'd think it was normal.

How can anyone bear to be in his presence, let alone agree to work with him, or honour him? What a sick society we live in.

Mockersisrightasusual · 29/02/2020 11:08

Court cases in France and Poland have failed because he claims it would be an extradition and not a rendition of an absconded convicted fugitive.

Scum.

What is this "alleged" shit? He was convicted.

Mockersisrightasusual · 29/02/2020 10:59

France and Poland have behaved despicably over RP and refusing to send him back to the USA to be sentenced. The false 'alleged' narrative is adopted and the shit gets away with it.

Clive James nails him. Go to 38.50 if you can stomach it.

Me too. Wonder what Emma Thompson would have done - she’s always terribly keen to be on the right side of history but manages to choose the wrong side fairly often Hmm

I am full of respect for the women who did this, especially Adele Haenel who is reported to be the first actress to get up and leave.
