Hammer thief sentenced to jail then judge immediately changed sentence purely because being transgender is more relevant than threatening a shopkeeper with a clawhammer.

It is time for third space within men's prisons where trans women can be securely and safely held to serve their sentences, and away from vulnerable women prisoners. It must be possible.

That is a great article by Julie Bindel in the Spectator. This situation is beyond parody. It is unsurprising there is a collapse in public confidence in the police and by extension, the judiciary. This is bonkers:

I am sick and tired of men using self-identification in order to abuse and prey on women and girls and to be given a ‘get out of jail free’ card. A record number of male offenders in prison now identify as female. The Daily Telegraph reported that there are more than 100 such prisoners, double the figure from two years ago. Fair Play for Women estimates that half of all transgender prisoners are sex offenders or dangerous category A inmates. So when will pandering, cowardly liberals wake up to the fact that trans-identifying males such as Le Fey are taking advantage of the current situation?

Bindel has written for the Spectator: blogs.spectator.co.uk/2020/02/meet-the-thug-who-was-spared-jail-for-being-transgender/

That Delacruz story is just so bizarre.

SetYourselfOnFire · 28/02/2020 22:14

Trans appears to be a get out of jail free card. Carlos Delacruz didn't spend a day in prison, despite being found guilty. Gemma Watts should have claimed she was trans.

Sadly it seems today that it is not the crime that has been committed but the person who commits it that is all important. It’s the kind of thinking that allowed the Rochdale grooming gangs & Jimmy Saville to get away with their crimes for so long, they became untouchable.

Absolutely. It is also an indication that the judiciary has obediently swallowed the hierarchy of oppression which places a hammer wielding, recidivist thug as hapless victim whilst the target of this person's prolific criminal career is considered irrelevant. How very inclusive.

Findumdum1, in this case it's a reference to Satanism...

Findumdum1 · 28/02/2020 09:52

Why are they always fey/faye/fay - so predictable and revealing that they see themselves as delicate fairies.

Durgasarrow · 28/02/2020 09:47

perfectly reasonable

MimbleCat · 28/02/2020 09:17

This case has been referred to the attorney general. I will keep you all posted.

BovaryX · 27/02/2020 21:49

From The Telegraph article:

Judge Mooney was appointed to be a Circuit Judge in April 2019. However in his short time in the post, he has already had one of his sentences reviewed and issued an apology following accusations he was too lenient

Thinkingabout1t · 27/02/2020 21:43

Of course this will be recorded as a female crime. That’s why we are constantly being told that female crime is increasing, especially violent crime.

BovaryX · 27/02/2020 21:42

This case is outrageous. This is a violent, recidivist criminal. 50 previous cases. It is being reported in the Daily Mail. Public confidence in the police is at an all time low. A violent recidivist hammer wielding criminal escapes prison because transgender? How is this justice? The judge's comments are a grim insight into the bankrupt ideology behind this bankrupt decision:

We live in a society which acknowledges and embraces diversity and allows and encourages people to live the life they want to. Sometimes society does not make the necessary or appropriate adjustments in all ways it can to reflect the adjustments of society as a whole.'

Perhaps there are judges who purchase such services....?

EverardDigby · 27/02/2020 19:40
Grin
Lordfrontpaw · 27/02/2020 19:36

It’s not that !

EverardDigby · 27/02/2020 19:28

I'm too scared to google "necromancer"....

BustedWench · 27/02/2020 19:25

Crowley and LaVey inspired prolific criminal with various names allowed to roam about Brighton free as you like.

They're not even trying nowadays

Avocadohips · 27/02/2020 19:16

"Psycho witch from hell"
"I hold humanity in contempt"
"Necromancer"
"a very substantial number of previous convictions” for more than 50 offences including three previous offences of having “a bladed article” in public."

She seems nice Hmm

Lordfrontpaw · 27/02/2020 19:14

So it’s now officially Teflon staus? It’s like The Purge!

Clymene · 27/02/2020 19:08

I think the judge is well aware that the defendant is post-op. This statement points to it : "But there are circumstances where it can be regarded as disproportionate in a society that acknowledges diversity, but has a lack of resources otherwise to deal with it."

So a judge doesn't think a man* without a penis should be in a men's prison. But doesn't think they should be in a women's one either (I suppose we should be thankful for that - they've learned something post Karen White although I don't think this particular offender is sexually interested in women).

So the answer shouldn't be that they can evade incarceration altogether surely? There must be other vulnerable men in prison. There must be plenty who sell sex to other men.

*nb mods - this person is legally a man. They use male names when it suits. And 'woman without a penis' makes no sense because we don't have penises!

Lordfrontpaw · 27/02/2020 19:03

I think someone further up mentioned the Mail had this story too. What a joke judge.

TorkTorkBam · 27/02/2020 19:01

Violent sex worker alcoholic Le Fey was released to stay in a women's refuge instead of to going to male prison on grounds of safety and dignity. WTF.

Lordfrontpaw · 27/02/2020 18:55

Hang on - i remember reading of a woman who got 10 months in jail.

She was an addict who aggressively offered a man (who had given her a handout) sex for money. She turned up at his front door then and chased him around his house trying to hoist herself into him. No weapons.

He was terrified of being raped and she was jailed for attempted rape (actual rape gets less these days).
