It's a common tactic. They often use the presence of lesbians in refuges as to why we should just let men in, and if there are loads of female paedophiles lurking in our toilets then we might as well just let men in there too.

Obvious, innit?

Lib Dems are a disgrace.

womaninblue · 25/02/2020 16:49

Can anyone explain why Baroness Brinton (Lib Dems) started going on about female paedophiles?

What on earth did that have to with single-sex provision of lavatories?

Angryresister · 25/02/2020 16:40

They show an astonishing amount of knowledge and have researched thoroughly...except for the LD who bleated on about all the women who are sex offenders as a diversion from the concerns expressed....if only others would come out and look at the issues. Thank you to Lord Lucas for speaking so clearly. Most of them get it.

Babdoc · 25/02/2020 16:31

Rather annoying that it got derailed to discuss disabled toilets instead.
The only really good bit was the opening speech. But I suppose it’s a start.

10FrozenFingers · 25/02/2020 16:30

Brilliant.

StuckBetweenDarknessAndLight · 25/02/2020 16:27

What a brilliantly worded argument.

Redshoeblueshoe · 25/02/2020 16:23

Only on the first bit but a brave woman had me in stitches

Violetparis · 25/02/2020 16:18

Don't want to derail this thread but wondered if anyone had seen the Twitter feed from Helen Pidd from The Guardian, she is asking for questions from those who are wavering on voting for Lisa Nandy as she is interviewing her at some point today. The replies to her tweet certainly will show The Guardian and the Labour Party that this issue is not going away anytime soon.

OhHolyJesus · 25/02/2020 16:16

This is great! I'm going to read the whole thing tonight.

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 25/02/2020 16:07

Actually the whole thing is quotable. I'm over the moon at this.

Callmejudith · 25/02/2020 16:03

Wow this is amazing

JustTurtlesAllTheWayDown · 25/02/2020 16:02

Oh that is brilliant. Another one for sharing.
I particularly liked:
Stonewall should put away its kimono and baseball bat and settle down to the idea that maybe it needs to modify its rather extreme views

bellinisurge · 25/02/2020 16:00

Wow. Tanni Grey-Thompson's comments were particularly powerful. Talking about upskirting risks and her own personal challenges.

BeyondReasonablyDoubtsLots · 25/02/2020 15:55

I was just about to share this Grin
