Met Police officer videos toilets at work for Mermaids

She's only been on Twitter for less than two weeks - she also says she's a women's coordinator for the Met - but her timeline is all pro trans tweets including praise for Peter Tatchell, support for 'rainbow crossings' and made up stats that '89% of trans people have considered suicide in the last year(!)'.

But most disturbingly, she's made various videos, seemingly for Mermaids as she's tagged them into her posts, of the men's and women's toilets where she works. She's said the point of these videos is to show what's in the toilets so trans people can feel included - THIS IS NOT WHAT A POLICE OFFICER SHOULD BE DOING.

She seems to be based in Hendon where police training takes place for the MET. I think complaints would go via the MET.

BovaryX · 23/02/2020 13:24

She’s a serving police officer. She doesn’t have to go along with it

Precisely. Her behaviour is completely unprofessional. She is promoting the agenda of a political lobby group. Are her superiors aware of her antics? Do the police understand why public confidence in them is at an all time low?

HandsOffMyRights · 23/02/2020 13:23

Mermaids and the police have always been bed fellows.
It is also ironic that for a group who claim to be oppressed, TRAs have the police on speed dial.

Talking of puppy dogs, are we really surprised by any of this when the police have been happily pictured at PRIDE with males on leads, dressed in bondage, on all fours, pretending to be dogs (not sure what the BDSM term is for humans, generally men by the way, who self ID as S&M dogs, but there's bound to be one) but I think those male fetishists were also manning/dogging? the children's area at PRIDE, dressed up as entertainment).

BringbackLang · 23/02/2020 13:16

Is she doing this in an official capacity on behalf of the force she belongs to?

Lordamighty · 23/02/2020 13:14

It’s no wonder confidence in the police is at an all time low. What the hell has happened to them as an organisation that they think this is acceptable?

74NewStreet · 23/02/2020 13:13

She’s a serving police officer. She doesn’t have to go along with it.

GinnyLane · 23/02/2020 13:10

She has a look in her eye of desperation mixed with anticipation of all the praise she thinks she is about to receive, like a trained dog or abused child

@Chiochan - the above actually felt like a slap in the face. You are 100% correct, it is exactly like watching an abusive dynamic. Which makes me feel horrifically guilty, because my overriding thoughts are to keep silent to keep myself safe, and to question why the fuck she's going along with it... and those are really not thoughts of which I am proud, particularly now that I am viewing it in those terms.

Sad
DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 23/02/2020 13:10

Silly Katie. Doesn’t she realise that that trans activists want all police banned from pride?

‘No pride in police’
and
‘No cops at pride’

Will be enlightening google searches for her.

Videoing toilets won’t help.

Is she doing this whilst on duty? If so what a complete waste of tax payers money. WTF is actually going on here?

Languishingfemale · 23/02/2020 13:08

She's a police officer, yet the guidance about being impartial has completely passed her by - because she doesn't appreciate that she's involved in a political movement. Just look at her puppy like adoration at that no doubt hugely expensive and powerful met LGBT conference. I wonder how much that cost in terms of £££ and police time? But with that level of power and influence it's not surprising that police officers think that anything is acceptable if it has the rainbow glitter attached. And when they laud the likes of Tatchell (with his views on adults having sex with children) what else are they failing to see?

Mockersisrightasusual · 23/02/2020 13:08

Does social media literally damage people's brains? I ask that question non-facetiously, I've been wondering about it for a while now.

Neurology Professor Susan Greenfield has written about this very subject. We are outsourceing our memory and increasingly other cognitive functions.

TheQueef · 23/02/2020 13:07

Doesn't make sense.
The only conflation between Ramadan and the mixed toilets is that the Muslim women won't have anywhere to wash ready for prayer.....which is a good reason NOT to have mixed, surely?

allmywhat · 23/02/2020 13:04

Why has she tweeted the hashtag #chemsex? Doesn't seem to be the sort of thing that the Police should be promoting.

I see the photograph is of a man in front of a banner that reads "Rape and Harmful Practices" so being generous, it may be a muddled attempt to raise awareness that chemsex drugs can be used for rape? Actually no, that isn't something anyone should want to raise awareness of.

There is no light in which it makes sense. Does social media literally damage people's brains? I ask that question non-facetiously, I've been wondering about it for a while now.

BustedWench · 23/02/2020 13:00

Blimey, I was told before I was interviewed by the police that their own officers had to follow strict rules for online conduct and would face action if they got political or involved in certain hot topics.

Obviously bullshit then isn't it...

Mockersisrightasusual · 23/02/2020 12:57

#chemsex as in PC Gordon Semple, murdered by Stefano Brizzi the 'cannibal cop killer?'

Mammatino · 23/02/2020 12:56

Am I being thick as a whale omelette? What's the actual point of filming the toilets? How would this help anyone. It's really really odd.

BovaryX · 23/02/2020 12:54

The thing is PC Gul is the rule rather than the exception.

That is the worst part of this. The police in the UK are unfit for purpose, their failure to do their job is crystal clear and they have become a politically biased support system for lobbyists.

AutumnRose1 · 23/02/2020 12:51

I don't understand why she did this at all.

from whom is she seeking points?!

74NewStreet · 23/02/2020 12:51

She sound stupid enough to be dangerous. It’s often not the intelligent people who are the real threat; it’s the thick ones like this who are dumb enough to be used as puppets by anyone with an agenda.
God help us all.

TheQueef · 23/02/2020 12:51

I dunno Kirky I'm too old for this shite Sad

HandsOffMyRights · 23/02/2020 12:50

So in her professional capacity, she is also tweeting false suicide statistics with no evidence to back up her alarmist and misleading claims. She writes:

Do you know 89% of #trans people have considered #suicide over the last 12 months. This isn’t acceptable!

She's out of control. Her whole timeline is both creepy and way out of line for a police officer, albeit a trainee.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 23/02/2020 12:50

Tbh, she sounds like an over excitable PC Gul

The thing is PC Gul is the rule rather than the exception.

BringbackLang · 23/02/2020 12:50

Remember to check your thinking everyone.

Thelnebriati · 23/02/2020 12:49

Promoting mixed sex toilets during Ramadan seems particularly goady.

Languishingfemale · 23/02/2020 12:48

I also noticed the #chemsex and wondered what on earth a police officer was tweeting that for? Then I thought about all the images we've seen from Pride and decided it's evidently what they now promote.
It'll be porn hashtags next Hmm
