Met Police officer videos toilets at work for Mermaids

She's only been on Twitter for less than two weeks - she also says she's a women's coordinator for the Met - but her timeline is all pro trans tweets including praise for Peter Tatchell, support for 'rainbow crossings' and made up stats that '89% of trans people have considered suicide in the last year(!)'.

But most disturbingly, she's made various videos, seemingly for Mermaids as she's tagged them into her posts, of the men's and women's toilets where she works. She's said the point of these videos is to show what's in the toilets so trans people can feel included - THIS IS NOT WHAT A POLICE OFFICER SHOULD BE DOING.

If so, then, why, oh why, start with filming toilets?

Someone who want to get the police involved in their fetish has got the police involved in their fetish.

Men have penises (penii?) from which they urinate into urinals.

Well they try.

Bless.

DuchessDumbarton · 23/02/2020 16:05

And what is with filming toilets?
Even if I wanted to see the interior (and I don't, as I've visited many public and workplace loos) I can't see much, as her head is in the way.

Have I read her thread incorrectly....I took that she is the LGBT officer for incoming students and that her remit was to demystify the provision for students who are LGBT?

If so, then, why, oh why, start with filming toilets?

DuchessDumbarton · 23/02/2020 16:04

The faux prudishness gentility about naming urinals....what's that about?

Men have penises (penii?) from which they urinate into urinals.

It's not a secret.

BoreOfWhabylon · 23/02/2020 15:52

I suspect she's attempting to accumulate wokepoints for her professional portfolio (do police officers have those?)

Evidence of her wokeness and do-goodery for her next appraisal.

Evidence of some actual policing might be a better idea, I would have thought.

SerendipityJane · 23/02/2020 15:36

I'm happy to be with on a list of trans supportive women standing up for women's rights, the two things aren't mutually exclusive.

I was thinking more of the lists of non-criminals the police are keeping, just in case anyone needs a DBS check.

StealthMama · 23/02/2020 15:15

and help them build up their "list of names" that much quicker ...

Or stay silent and let this all happen?

I'm happy to be with on a list of trans supportive women standing up for women's rights, the two things aren't mutually exclusive.

Findumdum1 · 23/02/2020 14:33

What an absolute thicko!

Does she really think men dont know what women's toulets look like or vice versa? And what is the relevance anyway?

I've been in loads of mens toilets, mainly in my clubbing days. I avoid them now, for hygiene reasons, but I'd happily use them if I had to. They're for bodily functions. All this fetishizing toilets is starting to make me think perhaps individual, lockable unisex cubicles (cleaned regularly) are the way to go.

JeremyCorbynsTopLip · 23/02/2020 14:23

Why tf does she say 'low sinks', do some women actually not know the name of a urinal?

Xanthangum · 23/02/2020 14:20

There is a really weird bit in the second video

twitter.com/katelgbtq/status/1227858674519068672?s=20

She says "this is the boys... I've checked, there's no-one in there.... I'm not after a..." and doesn't finish the phrase.

Not after a what?

Apollo440 · 23/02/2020 14:13

WTF has Ramadan got to do with the price of fish? Other than no muslim woman will want to share a single sex space with a male no matter how they identify. Is she hanging around the toilets to report them for 'hate crime'?

SerendipityJane · 23/02/2020 14:01

Suggest as many of you can do the same.

..and help them build up their "list of names" that much quicker ...

TheGreatWave · 23/02/2020 14:01

There's a word for this....oh yes voyeurism.

StealthMama · 23/02/2020 13:59

I've just sent a complaint to the met with the twitter link.

This police officer thinks it’s ok to video inside the women’s toilets at her place of work. Single sex spaces are currently protected under the equalities act yet she is promoting usage for trans women.

In my work place, filming of any sort inside the ladies toilets would be gross misconduct and I would be dismissed as a result.

Who is policing women’s safety, if it is not the police?

Personal belief systems have no place in the police. Protecting segregated spaces isn't transphobic, it's the law.

Suggest as many of you can do the same.

SallyArmley · 23/02/2020 13:58

Touring toilets in support of Ramadam?
I think most Muslims know how to clean their bums already, prior to the woke Plod arriving in the bog.

Performing istinjaʾ does not invalidate the fast. Ok Officer Drivel?

Meanwhile, while back in the real world of Crime, the Mayor of Gotham City resorts to shining the Bat Signal on a cloud.

HandsOffMyRights · 23/02/2020 13:56

Fair Cop are aware of this I can see on Twitter. They've been blocked by her!

SerendipityJane · 23/02/2020 13:56

My biggest worry about police officers going into toilets is they seem to leave loaded guns lying around ...

I'll get my coat ...

Lordfrontpaw · 23/02/2020 13:53

Good idea. Someone filming in the ladies loos and sticking the film on twitter.

borntobequiet · 23/02/2020 13:45

Well I’ve now got an ad from the Met Police telling me to look out for wrongdoers. I clicked by accident and it took me to their page with a Report section. So I think I will report this numpty.

Lordfrontpaw · 23/02/2020 13:38

It took over three hours for police to come out to a mugging - with a gun - that we witnessed a couple of years back. The police seemed a bit miffed when they arrived at the hotel I had taken her to (opposite where she was mugged) and the victim had gone back to her hotel (she was a tourist).

JeremyCorbynsTopLip · 23/02/2020 13:35

Aye so is this why it took two hours for the police to respond to a mugging i was witness to?

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 23/02/2020 13:34

I hope her seniors see this
She will get promoted and the police force will be given Stonewall honors.

People still seem to have this idea that all of these institutions have accidentally misunderstood what they are doing, and just need it highlighting to make them realise.

Lordfrontpaw · 23/02/2020 13:31

I hope her seniors see this - but then she will probably get a medal the way things are with the police forces these days.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 23/02/2020 13:26

(not sure what the BDSM term is for humans, generally men by the way, who self ID as S&M dogs, but there's bound to be one)

Pups.

Do the police understand why public confidence in them is at an all time low?

They understand, but like they don't care
