It’s particularly shocking to me when children are murdered by a parent (usually father)

Statistically it is actually 50/50 mothers and fathers killing their children.

The AIBU thread is horrific. It's an object lesson in how pervasive internalised misogyny is and how far the movement to obscure the sex-based nature of violence has come. It's shocking how many people read the OP and immediately launched into a defence of men, as if the most appalling thing about those murders was that they made men look bad.

There is a thread on this in AIBU. It’s immediately turned into “stop saying mean things about the menz” and “women do this too”. I fucking despair. It seems like we cannot even acknowledge that male violence is a problem now.

I read this and immediately thought ‘oh no, not another one’. It’s so tragic and I hope it is properly acknowledged (once police investigation complete) what this was.
What kind of a monster would do such a thing to their children and wife? It’s particularly shocking to me when children are murdered by a parent (usually father) as most of us as parents would do anything to protect our children and keep them safe Sad
