Seen in Newcastle today.

You can even get a 'cute' biscuit to dunk in your vat of coffee.

The host of the podcast, James Delingpole.

Lordfrontpaw · 14/02/2020 17:58

Who?

vaginafetishist · 14/02/2020 17:58

Delingpole a massive twat though.

vaginafetishist · 14/02/2020 17:58

I loved the podcast and the 'No no NO' that we have all been saying on here, along with the disbelief that more people aren't saying NO.

ThinEndoftheWedge · 14/02/2020 17:55

Let’s not forget the Little Mermaid loses her voice

  • it doesn’t end well in the actual (non Disney) story
Lordfrontpaw · 14/02/2020 17:01

No, because that would upset the seals.

BercowsFlyingFlamingo · 14/02/2020 16:59

Surely it should be merpeople, not mermaids.

Mockersisrightasusual · 14/02/2020 16:04

Have the bastards paid thier tax yet on their overpriced mud?

Lordfrontpaw · 14/02/2020 16:01

Good to give feedback.

xxyzz · 14/02/2020 15:50

I spotted this in a Starbucks and went to tell the barista I would not be buying anything else there due to Mermaids' misogyny.

She was keen to tell me you had to buy a specific biscuit to donate money to Mermaids, and just buying say a coffee wouldn't result in an unintentional donation.

I told her I wouldn't be going in again while the promotion was running and to pass on my complaint to head office.

Something in her manner when I complained made me suspect I wasn't the first complaint she'd had on the subject. Not her fault, of course.

Aesopfable · 14/02/2020 15:04

They must be mixing their mythology. If they identify as sirens that would explain their fears of ‘millions of trans deaths’ from people resisting their call of TWAW.

Lordfrontpaw · 14/02/2020 15:02

I guess a and b

Mockersisrightasusual · 14/02/2020 15:01

The mermaid story sometimes put down to sailors spotting basking seals and mistaking them for women. This indicates

a) They'd been at sea a long time

and/or

b) men will fuck anything

Aesopfable · 14/02/2020 15:01

Sirens were fated to die if a mortal ever resisted their beckoning

Lordfrontpaw · 14/02/2020 14:56

Half bird NOT half fish

Lordfrontpaw · 14/02/2020 14:56

Sirens were half bird bit half fish. Original surf and turf.

Mockersisrightasusual · 14/02/2020 14:55

Mermaids are mythical creatures whose false promises lure sailors to their deaths.

AKA Sirens

Lordfrontpaw · 14/02/2020 14:53

Very disappointed sailors too. They think they are getting a sexy babe but it’s all just glitter and fishnets.

Durgasarrow · 14/02/2020 14:50

Mermaids are mythical creatures whose false promises lure sailors to their deaths. If sailors jump ship, the ships are deserted. If ships are deserted, trade is lost, and civilization founders.

Durgasarrow · 14/02/2020 14:44

Mermaids Are Maids

TheRealMcKenna · 14/02/2020 09:04

‘Post truth’ is just lies though surely?

That’s what I’d assume. However, I just did a boring old engineering degree at a boring old STEM university where you had to learn boring things like ‘laws’ and ‘principles’. The pseudo-science of the social sciences just baffles me.

Lordfrontpaw · 14/02/2020 08:32

‘Post truth’ is just lies though surely?

TheRealMcKenna · 14/02/2020 08:12

OvaHere I listened to that podcast yesterday and thought his furious commentary about Starbucks was fantastic.

I also thought it was interesting earlier in the discussion where he touched on the fact that the ‘post truth’ approach in the world of academia is now creeping into the STEM subjects. This could go some way to explaining why we hear so few voices from the world of biology defending the idea of the reality of biological sex.

Lordfrontpaw · 14/02/2020 08:03

I watched a truly dreadful horror films about killer mermaids. Not nice creatures.

Aesopfable · 14/02/2020 07:38

I understood that mariners were afraid of mermaids as they would lure them to their deaths.
