Twitter has taken the baton. Seems people are not happy with being told what to think.

I wonder who the witchfinder generals will be?

RubyViolet · 11/02/2020 23:24

Caitlin is not a Feminist, she has monetarised a commercial soft Feminism.

Perhaps at meetings those they haven't gotten round to expelling yet can wear signs hung over their chest a la Cultural Revolution.

It's long past time that the grownups came in and told our homegrown version of the Red Guard to pipe down and go do their homework.

thereplycamefromanchorage · 11/02/2020 23:18

This is really cheering.

Floisme · 11/02/2020 23:16

How do you expel 18,000 people?
The tribunals will have to sit all night.

RheaRanged · 11/02/2020 23:11

I think joss has been hitting the sherry. Again.

Qcng · 11/02/2020 23:07

Oh God long groan
If anyone dare look, Joss Prior has joined in to "Expelme" to do "A Thread" "1/1" etc.

Just.... I daren't look but it's there.

That Bastini bloke doesn't get out of his social group much, does he? The majority of people do not believe TRA dogma. Most people want to be nice and not hurt anyone's feelings, and are generally in favor of human rights protections being expanded, but the official TRA position has gone so far off the deep end that of course people are pushing back. Because what's being asked for is absurd and dangerous to other people.

When kids are being harmed, people notice and don't like it. When discussion is forbidden, people notice and don't like it. When you tell people that biological sex is a social construct, they begin to question your sanity, which leads to also wondering how many of your other positions are somewhat less than reality based.

This whole fiasco is why we should always consider ideas on their merits, not just go along with ideas unthinkingly because they sound like others we agree with.

Evenquieterlife33 · 11/02/2020 22:48

I can’t remember who, but someone tweeted that Labour have been made “useful idiots” just about sums it up for me.

testing987654321 · 11/02/2020 22:43

Should I know who Aaron Bastini is?

Binterested · 11/02/2020 22:37

Caitlin Moran still silent Im guessing HmmGrin

There is going to come a point where she’ll have to break cover. And that point will be too late.

Babdoc · 11/02/2020 22:32

How absolutely wonderful that so many thousands of people are standing up in defence of women- it’s a real “Spartacus” moment, isn’t it. Must admit, I felt almost tearful to see such solid support, after feeling we were lone voices for so long!
I should have had more faith in the good sense of ordinary people - the average Brit does not take kindly to fascist orders on how to think or behave. Well done to the idiots in the Labour Party for giving this toxic ideology maximum exposure!

thehorseandhisboy · 11/02/2020 22:32

WPUK are so classy.

This is fantastic.

TimeMarchesOnNeverEnding · 11/02/2020 22:24

Their own bloody mantra is 'for the many, not the few'. Well dickheads, there are far more biological women than trans women....

calllaaalllaaammma · 11/02/2020 22:20

Labour leadership contender Rebecca Long-Bailey has signed up to a pledge to expel party members who have expressed "transphobic" views.
The recently-formed Labour Campaign for Trans Rights says its 12 pledges will help "rid the party of transphobia

It's also going to rid them of about a third of its female voters.

They're so thick.

RubyViolet · 11/02/2020 22:20

Floisme. She’s spot on !

I don't know how people like Aaron Bastani and Owen Jones even dare to show their twitter faces after that election result. "Fully automated luxury communism" my arse.

I don't think that really translated very well to your core labour voters in the north mmmm? Or to women. Or to many people at all.

Men like this have wrecked Labour. I've often thought Bastani's account is indistinguishable from a spoof.

Floisme · 11/02/2020 22:10

I've not seen Suzanne Moore speak out before:

ScrimshawTheSecond · 11/02/2020 22:09

Men seem slightly confused by how strongly women feel on this. I wonder why that is.

SunsetBeetch · 11/02/2020 22:06

This from Aaron Bastini made me laugh. The consequences of living in a woke bubble.

Just lost an hour on Twitter
Loved every minute Grin

Oldstyle · 11/02/2020 21:56

13.5k tweets of the hashtag and trending at number 1. If nothing else it suggests that a lot more people are alert to the issue and to the attacks on women's rights. Infuriating and dispiriting that two female LP leadership contenders are throwing women under the bus in order to support the trans ideology but cheering that so many people are protesting.

Igmum · 11/02/2020 21:49

I love this hashtag. A wave of wonderful, courageous women and men. Brilliant, just brilliant

RheaRanged · 11/02/2020 21:44

It’s getting all the sun light it richly deserves.
