Kate i wish you all the hope in the land that common sense prevails and that you get the verdict you rightfully should

PenguindreamsofDraco · 06/02/2020 19:53

You mean you didn't even ask to check her genitals? Bad t*rf Grin

pombear · 06/02/2020 19:52

Penguindreams
She strikes me as formidable! (though I didn't ask her pronouns or what she was assigned at birth as, so forgive me if I'm wrong with the 'she'!)

PenguindreamsofDraco · 06/02/2020 19:42

Oh to be Kate's barrister Grin Cross examination of the kind s/he is preparing tonight is what we do the job for Grin

Pombear Excellent post, I'm sure your support was much appreciated by both women. Thank you. Star

Whilst in the waiting area to support Kate today, I met a young woman not connected to Kate's case.

Her situation was exactly the sort that many of us will recognise and see on the relationship board and elsewhere on Mumsnet.

We had a chat, someone else gave her tissues.

I hope that she'll find her way one day to the relationship board here, and find herself wrapped within the support and kindness of many of you here.

She reminded me of why we rock up here and elsewhere, why we're fighting for women's rights, women's spaces and the right to define our support for women in our own words.

And why we're fighting NOT to be compelled to support those people who direct the type of anger and indignance I saw directed at Kate today, either by legislation, shame, twitter rules, or institutional policy.

I was there to support Kate, but was accidentally reminded why Kate's stance is so important in such a wider context.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 06/02/2020 19:22

Thank you, Maya.

GrinitchSpinach · 06/02/2020 19:22

Thank you for the update, Maya!

iguanadonna · 06/02/2020 19:21

Wishing you all the best, Kate. Wish I could be there tomorrow, but glad to hear there were women supporting you.

wellbehavedwomen · 06/02/2020 19:16

Thank you, @MForstater (again!).

EverardDigby · 06/02/2020 19:05

Thanks Maya, I'm guessing we won't hear the verdict tomorrow.

Lordfrontpaw · 06/02/2020 19:03

But character? Oh that’s not good is it. But then, judges these days, huh?

jadefinch · 06/02/2020 18:58

What did Radio 4 say?

Melroses · 06/02/2020 18:54

Yes - that was a shock Shock

One after the other.

Cuntysnark · 06/02/2020 18:49

Unbelievably radio 4 covered this and the SSA case.

EverardDigby · 06/02/2020 18:00

Yeah I looked on Twitter, I'm presuming that means they're carrying on tomorrow rather than they are still there.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 06/02/2020 17:55

reporting restrictions are in place, I believe, from a quick look on twitter.

EverardDigby · 06/02/2020 17:48

I was expecting an update when I got home! Does anyone know what's going on?

popehilarious · 06/02/2020 16:07

I'm on tenterhooks!

FannyCann · 06/02/2020 16:05

Sorry about the grammar. Achieving perfection is too much like hard work sometimes. Grin
