with Michael Walker, who I really rate, btw -- clearly miles ahead of the others at Novara and always worth listening to.

I am, ridiculously, saddened by this.

Ah, yes, the Masons. They know exactly what a woman is. They allow existing gentlemen members who later decide they’re transwomen to remain members.
But transmen are banned. Apparently you can’t self ID into the masons, ladies!

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 05/02/2020 20:45

I never got the appeal of freemasonry. It just sounds so silly.

power, the appeal is power.

nice relaxing sausage-time.

What, like 'automatically deleting responses from people who think sex matters more than gender' in Dear Lord's City of London survey? And then saying, 'Look! All the answers we have left say that gender is more important than sex'?

Ack! I had totally forgotten about that, and now you’ve reminded me and I’m having a blood pressure spike again thinking about that fucking travesty of a survey! Argh!

In other news, my CLP have voted on their favoured leadership candidates and Kier Starmer thumped RLB into a distant second.

I’m not sure if can can even summon up interest right now as I find them all quite disappointing.

wellbehavedwomen · 05/02/2020 19:13

@DodoPatrol - oh God, I forgot about him. All woke about how women aren't allowed our own spaces, before he trots off to his Freemason's single-sex lodge for some nice relaxing sausage-time.

Why, there was only an existing mixed sex pond. How could a third space like that possibly meet someone's validation needs? They clearly need access to the women's pond far more than boring old natal females ever could.

Not born with penises = don't count. It's the woke new feminism! Can't work out why some women object. Bigotry's the only answer. Just ask the Labour leadership candidates.

PermanentTemporary · 05/02/2020 18:41

PMSL mockers and not in an appropriate place to do that

DodoPatrol · 05/02/2020 18:36

I am genuinely starting to think that eventually the liberals will start arguing to deny the vote to "bigots" and "hateful" people.

It will happen, you already have arguing for "old people" to not have a vote.

Is that true? Will have a google.

Mockersisrightasusual · 05/02/2020 18:34

The case for disenfranchsing the clinically diagnosed senile will only grow.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 05/02/2020 18:32

Cunty Gulag Fun Times Re-Education Camp? It might be better than CentreParc.

the cunty gulag

Coldtitz?

wellbehavedwomen · 05/02/2020 16:30

I shall hie myself to the cunty gulag forthwith.

I mean, in fairness, the cunty gulag would effectively be giant WPUKs. I'm totally down with that.

TorkTorkBam · 05/02/2020 16:18

Oh FFS Labour. We need a proper opposition.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 05/02/2020 16:13

They don’t want real power to govern and having to make hard decisions, much easier life to be student protester types in opposition, virtue signalling and standing up for as many victims as they can find. That’s why They are holding onto identity politics, they would lack purpose otherwise.

Unfortunately, I think this is true.

Also, sorry, sorry for talking about women's rights. I just. Can't. Seem. To. Stop. I know it's wrong. I shall hie myself to the cunty gulag forthwith.

wellbehavedwomen · 05/02/2020 16:12

@Eglwysfach - worrying about how law and policy being upended, at women's expense, to better suit natal males - how could any decent feminist protest? Hmm

The move towards a consumerist understanding of gender, and the conflation of gender with sex, poses an existential threat to women's rights, because if you can't define what a woman is then protections are in name only, and all single sex provision, protection, competition and recognition disappears. That's the reality of what all of this means, as increasing numbers of people are realising. And you know what an intelligent person does, when confronted with overwhelming evidence disproving their position? They change their mind. That's what most of us did, because most of us started out where you are, and researched this at all to prove gender critical women wrong. They were not wrong. Hence the focus on 'NoDebate and no-platforming. Once the discussion is open, extremist gender ideology falls apart, because it is not supported by empirical fact. I would suggest that you engage in good faith, and have the conversation, instead of lecturing and hectoring. The facts may surprise you.

If your idea of 'decency' is for women to be threatened with rape and murder, and abused, and silenced, when they try to talk about what altering the very definition of 'woman' may mean in law and practice, then may I suggest you re-examine your allegiances?

There is nothing left wing about an individualist conception of only a pick'n'mix gender having validity, and the erasure of sex - and with that, the fact that every single human being ever to exist at all did so solely because of the huge amount of reproductive labour undertaken by a woman, and that women all around the world suffer extreme violence, abuse, and oppression solely because of that biological sex. That reinforces male privilege, and removes any capacity to discuss and recognise structural oppression based on sex. It's the most neo-liberal perspective imaginable. And you say women here lack decency, and leftwing concern for other people!

littlbrowndog · 05/02/2020 16:07

😂😂😂😎

Where my common decency. Fuck knows.

GCAcademic · 05/02/2020 16:05

That’s it @Eglwysfach, that’s the way to get people to come back to Labour. “You’re big fat meanies if you don’t vote Labour”. Very sophisticated political discourse there. Slow handclap for you and the rest of the Momentum ostriches.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 05/02/2020 15:58

STOP TALKING ABOUT IT YOU DISGUSTING PEOPLE!

YOU'VE BEEN TOLD TO STOP!

andyoldlabour · 05/02/2020 15:53

Eglwysfach

Just in case you missed it, the Labour party were destroyed at the last election, because they had lost touch with their core voters, ordinary people like myself and many others on this forum.
Mind you, the self destruction started a while back, in the latter years of Blair and then Brown - remember him referring to "that bigoted woman" as he visited the traditional Labour heartlands of the North.

Mockersisrightasusual · 05/02/2020 15:51

It's not as if we've had the debate and need to move on. What other areas of policy could you propose this?

Fracking - No Debate
HS2 - No Debate
Slaughter of the First Born - No Debate

MarchDaffs · 05/02/2020 15:44

I think her argument can essentially be summed up as waaaaaaah.
