New Year New Judicial Review? CPS Hate Crime Guidance for schools

If you haven't seen this, I think you should.

www.faircop.org.uk/post/police-must-not-patrol-trans-discussion-in-schools

In brief, the CPS have published guidance about hate crimes in school - but won't let parents see the guidance. Its for teachers only. I've emailed for a copy and so have others. I have a child in the school system. I want to know how serious the risk is that she will be arrested and charged for discussing biology.

I think anyone else who is also worried should email the CPS and ask to see the guidance.

Teachers and schools can download the pack from this website. This is a resource for schools, so a password is required to download the pack. This can be requested by emailing [email protected].

I think we ought to start compiling a Top Ten of our favourite moments.

Mine currently is the protection offered to 'pan' and 'omni' sexual children - without defining either term and without apparently realising they have just used the Greek and Latin words for 'all'.

I have been sent a link to the Powerpoint but feel uncomfortable publishing this as it apparently involves lots of real and vulnerable children.

There is - I hope - going to be a lot of press reporting on this in next few days and I hope some useful commentary.

The guidance itself however will give you more than enough of a taste of just how terrible this is. I think the videos of children crying in toilets are the icing on a cake of stupendous crapness

....and the 'assigned at birth' bollocks, including the use of 'intersex.'

And that toilet scenario lesson is creepy as fuck.

SarahTancredi · 29/01/2020 18:03

Yy valancy

Had a scroll down to that page.

Sets the kids up to expecting to peppe whi have chosen to make no medical or whatever effort at all.

Girls if you see a full.on beardy bloke in the toilets he may be trans and chosen no.intervention..

Wtaff is this shit

HipTightOnions · 29/01/2020 18:02

That glossary!

Key words that are not defined: gender, boy, girl...

Mockers2020Vision · 29/01/2020 18:01

Gender-This, Gender-That and plenty of Gender-The-Other, but no actual definition of "gender."

ValancyRedfern · 29/01/2020 17:50

I've just read the teacher glossary at the end and that's enough to give me palpitations...

HipTightOnions · 29/01/2020 17:49

Thanks Spero

Do you have a link for the PowerPoint too? I can’t get access to it via the CPS website.

ValancyRedfern · 29/01/2020 17:46

I'm not at all surprised that NASUWT are involved. All the teaching unions are fully on the trans train. Even though Kiri Tunks was president of the NEU last year, which suggests tolerance of opposing views, the NEU voted to back self id. The NAHT too.

Page 9, point 10:

"Teachers must be especially mindful of the fact that some students in their groups will be LGBT+, and must be protected whether they are out or not."

Anyone familiar with Jacobean witch-hunt might recall the incubus and succubus.

They will exist, whether you can see them or not. They are still there.

Isn't Debbie Hayton a rep for NASUWT? Wonder what Debbie's take on this is?

Perhaps you should invite them back on to explain. Seems to have been AWOL from here for quite some time now.

SarahTancredi · 29/01/2020 17:36

Thanks! I will wade through tomorrow!!
You are a star. I hope this is exposed in the mainstream media or something

Spero · 29/01/2020 17:30

Now everyone can see just how alarming this is

Looks like CPS have removed photos and published guidance

link above is for England, there are similar NASUWT documents for Wales & Scotland.

October 22 2017, Times
'Schools advised on transgender inclusion
Teaching union’s guide highlights inappropriate communication'
(extract)
The NASUWT guide, entitled Trans Equality in Schools and Colleges — Advice and Guidance for Teachers and Leaders, warns that prejudice and bias “remain rife” in society, where Home Office research has found that transgender people may make up 1% of the population — “possibly one teacher and several pupils in each school”.

Guidance, which was developed with help from secondary school teacher Debbie Hayton who has transitioned from male to female, included: “Avoid discriminating between the sexes in the classroom and the staffroom. Is it necessary to separate boys and girls for an activity?” (continues)

Staff were urged to consider not addressing colleagues as “ladies and gentlemen”, for example, and not to divide classes into groups of boys and girls unnecessarily to avoid potential exclusion of trans children.

The Scottish Trans Alliance (STA) said it believed the guide would help tackle the “unacceptable” discrimination, which transgender people experienced in the education sector.

James Morton, STA manager, said: “We know that it is particularly difficult for teachers to come out as transgender due to high levels of prejudice in society . . . Some [of the small number of teachers STA has supported] have been verbally abused and even physically attacked in hate crimes. Most have been subjected to malicious gossip and discrimination in job interviews.” (continues)

The NASUWT issued a policy briefing paper in 2017 ,'Trans Equality
in Schools and Colleges Advice and Guidance for Teachers and Leaders'

It acknowledges the advisory role that Debbie Hayton played in its development.

IMO there are a number of potential Safeguarding & legal issues within the document.

So when I was a teen and had incredibly short hair - I could have sued the little old ladies (it always was little old ladies) who called me 'son' and got them a criminal record? Can I also now sue anyone who makes a misogynistic or agist comments to/about me? Remember - this person wasn't threatened in any way.

What is going on in the world?

Uncompromisingwoman · 29/01/2020 08:07

It's so dreadful isn't it? It gives me the rage to see such terrible coercive control, removal of boundaries / dangerous sexist anti women / girl crap being peddled at schools. These are predatory values - and have no place in schools, let alone society.

Floisme · 29/01/2020 07:50

Well quite, especially if their own union clearly isn't going to back them up.
This is really dreadful stuff.

Uncompromisingwoman · 29/01/2020 07:46

And as we have discovered Floisme , as the police and CPS now parrot Stonewall's incorrect and biased versions of the law, few teachers will be confident to stand up and tell the literal forces of law and order that they are incorrect and don't understand or care about safeguarding Sad

Aesopfable · 29/01/2020 07:30

Floisme I am guessing they sent their LGBTQISTUVWXYZ rep along

Floisme · 29/01/2020 07:22

Hang on:
It has been developed by the CPS in partnership with a number of organisations, including Stonewall, the National Police Chiefs’ Council, Gendered Intelligence and NASUWT.

I can't say I'm surprised about most of those names but NASUWT?
A teaching union is involved too?

Michelleoftheresistance · 28/01/2020 21:01

developed by the CPS in partnership with

More like phoned into CPS from the pub by.....

Just seen a comment from a MNetter on the other CPS thread that her body camera record of a full blown assault on her was dismissed by CPS as 'his word against hers' and yet they're right behind who says they looked sideways at who and wouldn't play with them.

It's beyond belief. Angry
