This was posted on a GC FB page earlier this afternoon. Didn't know an awful lot about BW apart from heated exchanges with JV. Apparently all "tXxFs look like men" and more.

Also, yes, Blaire is very sexist and very shallow and very vain. Not sure why this would surprise anyone.

NotBadConsidering · 24/01/2020 21:01

Yes, the word sinus is correct. The medical definition of sinus is a blind ended sac or cavity within other tissue.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 24/01/2020 20:56

formation of a sinus

Assuming that you didn't actually mean sinus, now I want to know what word autocorrect translated to sinus.

NotBadConsidering · 24/01/2020 20:50

Once AGAIN I have been deleted for writing an accurate description of what “bottom surgery” is. Once AGAIN I have received no notification from @MNHQ about this.

I wrote that bottom surgery for a male is orchidectomy, penectomy and formation of a sinus. I wrote that “top surgery” is double mastectomy. I do not believe that twee terminology should be used to describe major surgery.

This is the second time a factual post about surgery has been reported and removed. And people wonder why we are concerned that MNHQ don’t recognise that people are reporting inappropriately?!

I will screenshot this post and report it myself and ask why we can’t write medical facts, why people are allowed to complain about medical facts being written, why MNHQ remove posts containing medical facts and why they don’t notify when they remove posts about medical facts.

allmywhat · 24/01/2020 17:15

Blair is vain, mannered and "performs feminity" - so what? That is her personality- that is who she is.

Are we not allowed to dislike "who Blaire is?" Or be sarcastic about it? I don't understand the issue here.

GirlDownUnder · 24/01/2020 13:48

Deleting stuff that is perceived to be offensive or ‘not in the spirit’ is pretty patronising.

Totally agree. I'd love to know who's reporting. MN (from my understanding) don't trawl or watch threads, so I'd question why anyone would want to gag Blaire.

As an aside, I do find the whole narc mirror watching that Blaire does is distracting.
But I was watching 'live' when Yaniv brandished the taser, and I was shocked. Blaires' reaction - "are you having a moment" hair flick, lip plucker.

It's got to be devastating if you're Yaniv looking to scare and your host is yawn, next.

langclegflavoredbananamush · 24/01/2020 13:31

Here you go, MNHQ, Blaire cheerfully talking about not having ‘The Surgery’ while chomping on a hotdog:

That this must be said sigh

Meghan Murphy would be great for debating Blaire. I think it might be useful because apparently Blaire has a substantial following of young (teen?) women. It seems some of them were baiting Yaniv, trying to set him up (after he went on Blaire's youtube thingy?), and Blair (sanely) urged them to knock it off. I'd also like to see Jenn Smith do it.

Deleting stuff that is perceived to be offensive or ‘not in the spirit’ is pretty patronising. Blaire doesn’t need to be protected from a few middle aged women talking about genitalia, Blaire is an adult with a robust ego and willingness to share personal information with an audience of hundreds of thousands of complete strangers world wide.

Over a million people have viewed that video.

JessicaLangoustine · 24/01/2020 12:24

And since Blaire is a right wing, free speech supporting libertarian, I think Blaire would take a pretty dim view of Mumsnet's attack of the vapours on their behalf. Blaire's no snowflake.

JessicaLangoustine · 24/01/2020 12:22

Er, why the fuck have we been deleted for discussing Blaire's surgery (or lack of)? Blaire has a load of videos talking about this, they are very open about their decisions in this regard.

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 24/01/2020 12:02

not the type you diagnose as autogynephile.

If White wouldn't be diagnosed as AGP, who would be?

DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 24/01/2020 10:44

Any takers...

I nominate Megan Murphy (Posie would be interesting but a) she doesn’t want to be a representative of Feminism and b) I can imagine her getting rather exasperated with Blaire’s hair tossing!)

Luisa, when GC people/Feminists critique Blaire’s ‘performed femininity’ it’s not because Blaire is trans, or because Blaire is male, it’s because societal expectations relating to femininity have been used to control and oppress women since, well, forever.
The same critiques can be applied to anyone who utilises and exaggerates femininity and feminists have been talking about this since at least the 1970s. Dolly Parton and Kim Kardashian are two
examples. Dolly is particularly interesting, she’s incredibly clever, talented and philanthropic yet has spent much of her life being dismissed as little more than a pair of surgically enhanced tits.
Why do you think Dolly has chosen such an extreme appearance? What would she look like if she’d never had any surgical interventions? I have no idea what colour Dolly’s hair is, or was. Perhaps it’s grey now? Does Dolly even know? How different would Dolly’s life be if she’d kept to a more natural appearance? How different would Dolly’s life be if she had been born into the same large, poor, rural family but as a boy, not a girl?
Does any of this matter? Does any of this stuff ripple out and affect other individual women or society as a whole?

It doesn’t really matter if Blaire likes ‘feminists’ or not - I thought Blaire was too bright to generalise against millions in of people who share some ideas and aims but otherwise are from all sorts of backgrounds, but perhaps I overestimated?

I would never say I disliked ‘Conservatives’ or ‘Libertarians’. There are good people and bad people in all types of movements, all professions, all religions, all countries. Some good people even perform femininity Wink

JessicaLangoustine · 24/01/2020 10:09

Shall we try this again, Luisa. Read MidCentury's posts. And read the others. It was Blaire's behaviour, not the way she bloody looks, that led to that conclusion and everyone's irritation. Every female, current affairs personality on TV is primped to within an inch of their life, most of them are very good looking. We take them seriously because they act seriously. They don't act like they're in a L'Oreal commercial when they are conducting an interview. If a male interviewer started tossing his hair and pouting on the same circumstances, I would say the same about him: preening, distracting, disrespectful.

langclegflavoredbananamush · 24/01/2020 06:27

Just saw this on the Reddit gender critical site which the thread next door is about:

My daughter was watching Blair's livestream on Jessica Yaniv and on it someone asked if she would debate "a TERF". Blair said "first, I don't think they don't like to be called that. second, I've tried but they turn me down but if you know of one willing to come on tell them to hit me up."

Any takers....

langclegflavoredbananamush · 24/01/2020 06:20

I paid a little attention to Blair a little bit around the time of the White/Yaniv video. I got the impression that Blair is mostly interested in distancing themself (my spellcheck doesn't like "themself" but neither do I) from Yaniv's type (fair enough) and also going for clicks.

midcenturylegs · 24/01/2020 05:55

It was myself on the previous thread - I had always vaguely thought BW was a beauty-product YoiTuber. Made no specific judgement of BW but someone took a lot of offence at my error which I find really odd. I'm not 13 years old.

OP posts:
DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 24/01/2020 03:23

I guess someone briefly mixed Blaire White up with Nikkie De Jäger? Both are successful youtubers. It’s hardly an insult.

What’s so wrong with being a make up professional anyway, Luisa? Maybe you should check your prejudice?

lydiamajora · 24/01/2020 01:18

Accusing h** of pushing a makeup line? I guess I've missed something.

LuisaRey · 24/01/2020 01:10

A certain type of feminist? What would that be then? Ugly, frigid, lesbian harridan? If you want to sling the word "snide" around, take a look in the mirror (give your hair a swish while you're at it)

Nice straw man there with your choice of frigid etc.

I meant the type of feminist who without bothering to check jumps to the prejudiced conclusion that BW is selling make up simply because of the way BW looks; the sort who didn't bother checking but posted twice about BW selling make up.

BW has literally 100s of videos on the craziness of TRAs , anti- fa, suppressing of free speech, support for lesbians against the likes of Riley Dennis etc but all a gender critical feminist thinks of is she must be pushing a make-up line.

Still at it, LuisaRey. It does make me laugh that the people who want to rip up the rule book on woke politeness can't actually cope with a bit of criticism and fair comment. The "snide comment" you speak of was the observation that Blaire, a self proclaimed political commentator, whilst speaking to a young woman who is going through the hell of detransition, was behaving in a distracting and disrespectful manner by swishing hair, pouting and checking themself out. This is not behaviour that reflected the gravity of the situation.

The subject of that thread is Elle, a brave young woman who is detransitioning. You made it about Blaire. You had nothing to say about Elle. But you gave us this little gem: A common mistake made by a certain type of feminist is that anyone who is pretty, cares about their appearance or even is vain (which BW undoubtedly is) must be an air head not capable of higher thoughts beyond make-up . A certain type of feminist? What would that be then? Ugly, frigid, lesbian harridan? If you want to sling the word "snide" around, take a look in the mirror (give your hair a swish while you're at it).

midcenturylegs · 23/01/2020 21:26

The problem is there is no way to write laws that allow Rose into women’s spaces whilst also keeping Yaniv out, so the line has to be no biological males at all, no matter how funny/clever/nice/pretty they are.

^^

So there now (as opposed to in the past where women had a choice to be kind to transsexuals) shouldn't be a problem to refuse access to female spaces from men. I'd have been fine with BW using women's spaces, now, I'm adamant they can't. It has to be a clear divide, women and men. Any who don't want to fit into those categories have to lobby for their own.

DuLANGMondeFOREVER · 23/01/2020 20:46

The ‘dreaded T word’ is banned around these parts Luisa.

I actually prefer Rose of Dawn’s channel to Blaire’s. I think I would enjoy Rose’s company.
