Jess should have a read of this. There are some helpful pictures on the inside covers.

Keir is only a cigarette paper away from Keira...

TeiTetua · 21/01/2020 17:33

What do people think about Lisa Nandy? Apparently she's picked up some endorsements:

"this most marginalised of minorities"

Marginalised people are unable to influence governments. Pull the other one!

Equanimitas · 21/01/2020 17:08

Surely Keir Starmer is a shoe in, or have the decided only a woman can win.

Unfortunately Rebecca Long-Bailey may well get in, in which event we can resign ourselves to a decade of Tory horrors.

QuentinWinters · 21/01/2020 17:05

She was my favourite til yesterday too. Now I want Starmer, but a bit worried that's cos of the patriarchy Blush
I think he seems like the only person with credible experience to actually provide an opposition, but how influenced I am by the fact he is a well educated white man I don't know Confused

Lumene · 21/01/2020 16:46

Grin anyoldlabour

SonicVersusGynaephobia · 21/01/2020 16:30

I'm surprised by how completely unbothered I am about this.

I used to really like her. Until about a week ago. Then after yesterday I really couldn't care less about her as a candidate anymore.

No doubt Evil Women Asking Questions will be blamed, as usual.

WorkingItOutAsIGo · 21/01/2020 16:18

You guys just weren’t kind enough. Bad women!

andyoldlabour · 21/01/2020 16:05

Lumene,

You are going to love this. On Owen Jones wiki page it says he is a "feminist", although to be fair it doesn't say what kind Grin
Then I found this article from 2015.

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/feb/24/men-women-masculinity-feminism

RoyalCorgi · 21/01/2020 16:00

LOL we're both trivially uninfluential and vicious destroyers.

Yup, it's Schrodinger's Mumsnet all over again. We're full of pathetic mummies yammering on about pushchairs and coffee mornings and a sinister portal for radicalising women and spreading transphobic hate. We're utterly insignificant but capable of destroying a political career.

JellySlice · 21/01/2020 15:53

LOL we're both trivially uninfluential and vicious destroyers.

2020bluegirl · 21/01/2020 15:43

Yep tis true.

I am not happy about it, but not unhappy either. Literally not bothered.....

RoyalCorgi · 21/01/2020 15:42

Owen Jones is such a twat. I know we knew that already but I always hope he's going to get better, and he just gets worse.

PurpleCrowbar · 21/01/2020 15:40

Ah well. It'll give her more time to catch up on her reading.

She could start by dusting off her Biology textbooks.

Lumene · 21/01/2020 15:38

Brilliant line from that Owen Jones article above:

Where I am less sympathetic to Jess Phillips is that she presented herself as a feminist champion taking on leftwing bullyboys

BreastedBoobilyToTheStairs · 21/01/2020 15:27

Surely Keir Starmer is a shoe in, or have the decided only a woman can win.

He can just self ID as a woman. Problem solved!

Aesopfable · 21/01/2020 15:25

most marginalised of minorities

😂🤣😂🤣 loads of jokes on here today

GiveHerHellFromUs · 21/01/2020 15:22

She was always the weakest candidate. It's not surprising, really.

A week ago she was saying she's the only candidate who could do what needed to be done. It would appear that's not getting done then!

littlbrowndog · 21/01/2020 15:22

Viciously attacked. 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Was asked questions

PenguindreamsofDraco · 21/01/2020 15:20

Courageous supporting trans rights in the current climate? Well that's certainly an opinion.

zanahoria · 21/01/2020 15:18

i That she also made statements in support of trans rights — needed, given big past question marks over her position, although undermined by some of the language she used — is courageous in the current climate, and led to her being viciously attacked by the obsessive anti-trans cult who try to intimidate anyone who dares to back this most marginalised of minorities.

MorrisZapp · 21/01/2020 15:18

So who are the serious contenders? Surely Keir Starmer is a shoe in, or have the decided only a woman can win.

bellinisurge · 21/01/2020 15:15

Failure to get sufficient union backing obviously made the difference.

PenguindreamsofDraco · 21/01/2020 15:14

Twas a joke Equanimitas. Well aware mere women can't influence the LP in its current incarnation Grin

She did come across spectacularly poorly though, it can't have helped.
