Pink News says new LGB Alliance branding means that are aligned to Straight Pride

It's nice to have a bit of humour every now and again, and as we know Pink News is not the court jester of identity politics!

Quote from LGB Alliance facebook page:

Pink News asked us to have a chat the other day. We were delighted. Unfortunately they got a few things very wrong. They say that having black & white branding means that we are aligned to "Straight Pride" - anyone heard of it? - and Change UK. Strange. If we follow their reasoning we are also closely aligned to Apple, Chanel, Nike, World Wildlife Fund, Prada and Disney (and zebras, zebra crossings, penguins and pandas). Confused?

Sorry link to article was from facebook and must have got scrambled.

The article is hilarious, including for instance:

... While the idea that there are only two sexes is one that we’ve stuck to for ages, where we’re at now is learning that sex isn’t actually as binary as we thought. This is according to actual science, as outlined in this Scientific American piece, by this biologist writing for the New York Times and this scientist working as a bone researcher writing for Slate, among many others.

Oh, and also, let’s remember that intersex people literally exist.

Second, and let’s get straight to the point here: the colour scheme. As people on Twitter haven’t been able to stop noticing, it’s not an original colour scheme – it’s eerily similar to that of another group: it’s………. the Straight Pride flag! ...

Much prefer simple monochrome to all the rainbows and glitter. I like the distinction it makes.

It's always nice to hear the sound of a barrel being scraped.

Link doesn't work.

LGB alliance will be well funded with likes of Chanel and Nike behind them, great!

RuffleCrow · 27/12/2019 14:48

Sounds like penis news is running scared from the idea that there might be, like, four actual sexual orientations, none of which have anything to do with dodgy childlike rainbow glitter and unicorn imagery. Scary. Grin

Best wishes to LGB Alliance xx
