In an attempt to show both sides of the GC / self-ID can be vile he takes offence at "Why is it so important to you that men are able to access our facilities? Is it personal?". Why? Because he says such a suggestion is equivalent to calling him a "pervert". So there you have it, agreement that men who want to be in female toilets tend to have a dubious sexual motivation.

I think whoever he's hired to sort his reputation will do the following

  • he'll announce a significant charity involvement, lots of press about this, rep mgmt company will have paid to get positive coverage
  • they'll use his 'right to be forgotten' to get the negative new reports removed from google results
  • They'll have planted a load of positive hits to be the top hits when you google his name
  • this will include a glossy new 'personal' website

I'm currently amusing myself with imagining his first tweet back on the hellsite as his eadorsement for Labour leader. I imagine him that clueless.

JolyonsChickensAreBigots · 05/01/2020 22:55

I don't know FannyCann the entry mentions foxgate but was fairly innocuous so I had a look at the edit history and noticed this protection on it. Ive never seen that before but it may be fairly commonplace

FannyCann · 05/01/2020 21:29

How does that work then @JolyonsChickensAreBigots ?
Can he renew the protection (if he realises it has expired)? Do subjects set the protections themselves?

JolyonsChickensAreBigots · 05/01/2020 21:10

I thought I'd take a look at JMs Wikipedia entry, it's been set so only administrators can change, protection expires today

FannyCann · 05/01/2020 18:59

I had to do it m'lud. Look what the bad fox did. I have evidence in my defence.

What's the betting he'll use how mean us disobedient women are in some sense as his way back into social media?

JolyonsChickensAreBigots · 05/01/2020 17:19

I think mid week, he'll be busy first couple days getting into the swing of things by Wednesday he'll be bored.

I suspect he's hired professionals to 'clean up' his image. They'll be some positive news soon.

FannyCann · 05/01/2020 12:23

@theflushedzebra I suppose Mumsnet doesn't allow betting. We need a wager on how long it will be... I'm impressed it seems to have lasted longer than most New Year resolutions so far. I give it another couple of days, he's probably back to work tomorrow and will be cheered and emboldened by a few back slaps from his mates. If Claire has confiscated the phone she'll probably have to give it back as work beckons.

(Joke mnhq, no gambling activities here)

theflushedzebra · 05/01/2020 00:38

I agree, Knewmee - but I would say this has made him a pariah tbh - falling foul of animal-lover-twitter is no joke, he has some supporters, but generally has been vilified. Rightly so.

Day 10 and still no tweets....I think we should make this thread the Jolyon tweet watch thread.

Knewmee · 05/01/2020 00:13

Imagine how frightened the fox must have been. Imagine the noise and the blood spatter. Imagine its eyes.

And he thought it was a joke.

If it was a dog he’d be a pariah. But the act, the violence and the fear, the blood, was no different from kicking a dog to death.

Are people who batter animals to death, in our collective experience, nice, good people? People we want to be around? Or are they seriously frightening and unpleasant?

I’d like to know who instructs Jolyon (in his capacity as a barrister) and ask them if they’re happy to be represented in court by someone who batters animals to death and jokes about it.

EmpressLesbianInChair · 04/01/2020 16:16

His wife is a comms professional. I imagine she advised an extended period of silence before rehabilitation via a third party.

I would guess his wife’s advice depends on how annoyed she is about his constantly nicking her kimono to wield his baseball bat in...

VanGoghsDog · 04/01/2020 12:02

I doubt he'd take any notice of his wife. I expect a man told him.

teawamutu · 04/01/2020 10:59

Am wondering if dear Joly wants to be a judge at some point?

theflushedzebra · 03/01/2020 23:06

God, that's horrible Willis

CircleofWillis · 03/01/2020 19:58

Chris Packham seems to be getting some unpleasant fallout from his condemnation of Jolyon's actions. From his facebook page:
"It appears that if you oppose the cruelty and illegality of fox hunting and those who club them to death you don’t just get social media abuse . The body of a fox has been dumped at my house ... The police have been informed"
I couldn't finish watching his video I found it really distressing and I am not usually squeamish.

GirlDownUnder · 03/01/2020 15:26

His silence is most unusual.

Hopefully the foxes have breached kimono gate, have him tied to a chair, and are enjoying the Christmas leftovers while they ‘re-educate’ him on what a baseball bat is for.

theflushedzebra · 03/01/2020 15:23

Ha - sorry, no news. I was just reminded of him because I saw this on Julie Bindel's twitter feed.

Dangerfloof · 03/01/2020 15:20

Ah damn was hoping for an update but with news. How bloody dare he keep quiet.

theflushedzebra · 03/01/2020 15:17

It's day 9 actually, I should include boxing day.

I hope they do prosecute tbh, but he's a qc - I'd expect him to to wriggle out of it on a technicality.

PegasusReturns · 03/01/2020 15:15

Sexequality · 03/01/2020 15:14

Jolyon still has yet to tweet

He would be wise not to if there is a chance RSPCA might prosecute.
