Dress however you please.
Call yourself whatever you like.
Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you.
Live your best life in peace and security.
But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real?

To start off thread 2 - everyone saying the time was right for this to hit the news stands right after the Election was right!

Maya Forstater's Employment Tribunal case is, by virtue of JK Rowling's support, more popular in The Spectator than Boris Johnson by Boris Johnson, The Tories and The Labour Party!

MOST POPULAR in The Spectator

1. In just a few words, JK Rowling has changed the transgender debate (James Kirkup)

  1. Boris Johnson: Perhaps my campaign was ‘clunking’. But sometimes, clunking is what you need (Boris Johnson)
  2. We’ve just had the best decade in human history. Seriously (Matt Ridley)
  3. Keir Starmer looks and sounds middle class precisely because he’s working class (Isabel Hardman)
  4. Let’s make David Lammy Labour’s next leader (Rod Liddle)
  5. A new leader won’t stop the far left’s domination of Labour (Nick Cohen)

It feels like the tipping point has passed, doesn't it? People are sick of being hectored and bullied in the name of kindness.

theflushedzebra · 31/12/2019 20:16

flowery - no, but yesterday read on twitter that Danish tv was doing "10 things you want to leave in the 2010s" and no.8 was 'gender identity' ! Seems a lot of people are thoroughly sick of hearing about it too.

flowery · 31/12/2019 20:03

Did anyone see Joe Lycett’s programme on channel 4 yesterday. He said about people getting confused between sex and gender, and sex being chromosomes which we can’t change, and gender being all the ‘society-expects’ stuff.

Uncompromisingwoman · 31/12/2019 19:28

That's a very nice number - 200,000.
Good for JKR

YourOpinionIsNoted · 31/12/2019 18:58

It's now 200k. Happy days. Crown Smile

Every time I come to this thread the first thing I do is check the link to see the likes.

It's now 200k.

GirlDownUnder · 31/12/2019 15:32

Ooh Bellini they sound awesome - any chance of a picture?

Nah! No picture. Any chance of a pair? Grin

I can send an address Halo

Ooh Bellini they sound awesome - any chance of a picture?

bellinisurge · 31/12/2019 14:59

My tiny act of support - I made some slippers for my daughter using Marauders Map branded fabric.
Ain't no JKR boycott in this house.

YourOpinionIsNoted · 31/12/2019 14:38

Harry Potter Movie Channel. Excellent! Xmas Grin

feelingverylazytoday · 31/12/2019 09:04

LMAO, this is glorious. The second time in a couple of weeks that the woke twats have been put in their place. Looks like the universe doesn't revolve around them after all. #sorry not sorry.

Redshoeblueshoe · 31/12/2019 01:10

I have just had a look through my TV guide.
JKR has clearly not been cancelled.
Sky have a Harry Potter Movie Channel ! Xmas Grin 🍷

theflushedzebra · 30/12/2019 20:52

perhaps JKR just hasn't been able to hear all their complaining over the sound of her own fucking theme park

Grin

They're so ridiculous aren't they?

JKR "spectacularly uncancelled" Smile

YourOpinionIsNoted · 30/12/2019 17:29

It's the most successful book series OF ALL TIME. Hilarious that some blue haired, narcissistic arseholes think they can even make a dent in her / its popularity. Or perhaps JKR just hasn't been able to hear all their complaining over the sound of her own fucking theme park. Crown Grin

I'm putting the house colours editions on my birthday list. And planning my next (third!) visit to the studio tour. I know how to party, me. Glitterball

WishThisWasGin · 30/12/2019 12:37

I've introduced my 6 yo twins to the film this week. (more of a book fan myself)

I wonder what the streaming stats for the films are like? Grin

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 30/12/2019 12:29

It's almost as if 90% of the public agree with her isn't it?

WomanBornNotWorn · 30/12/2019 12:23

Brilliant - JK Rowling is clearly uncancelled.

*But how do they distinguish a Damehood from a Knighthood I wonder?
Didn't you know, none of this counts when it comes to titles!

Well what a surprise!!

HorseWithNoHumbuggery · 27/12/2019 15:44

... (unwaxed) balls..

lol

YourOpinionIsNoted · 27/12/2019 15:09

This whole mental topic has turned my opinion on the mail. Yes they print a lot of shit and the sidebar of shame is still shameful, but at least they've got the (unwaxed) balls to publish stories on this.

Always had a slight soft spot for them since the Stephen Lawrence "murderers" headline.

GrimDamnFanjo · 27/12/2019 11:29

It's the Mail but Jan Moir lists JK today as a hero of the year for her tweet - and explained what happened to Maya.

NoSquirrels · 27/12/2019 10:08

What I rather like about JK’s tweet and subsequent silence is that it will stand, at the top of her profile, and as the quoted tweet on Google, until whenever she decides to tweet again, which could be in months, if ever...Grin

Fingers crossed. The Queen bestowed a significant honour on Margaret Attwood fairly recently.
