As in the title, JO'B will be discussing JK Rowling's comments on Maya and the Trans Activist response on his programme this morning. Sorry I missed Nick Ferrari & the Divine Sharon earlier but I will be listening to JO'B at 10.

Iirc last time JOB 'tackled' this issue, a lesbian caller told him about Cotton Ceiling and he was quite shocked and promised to read up about it.
Presumably he did and came to the conclusion that some women do indeed have penises, and it's not a big deal?

And yet he still responds differently to female callers who have no history of having a penis.

WombOfOnesOwn · 20/12/2019 18:09

Well, thank God new fathers of daughters no longer have to stop and consider the plight of female human beings in this misogynistic world. Now they can be thankful that if their little girl didn't really want to be catcalled and harassed, she's a boy and can sterilize herself to prove it.

nauticant · 20/12/2019 17:54

That's how I read it too. Although the way it was presented seemed to conveniently (?) give the impression that Jack was a transman. Which I suspect was the reason for an even more confused than normal O'Brien thinking that Jack was the best thing since sliced bread.

Jillyhilly · 20/12/2019 17:33

Jack was a new father whose wife had given birth to a baby girl 3 hours earlier. Quite rightly his top priority was to have a woke bro moment with JoB and thank trans activists everywhere for their sterling work in making it possible for his kid to one day choose to be a transman.

It really was that insane.

OhHolyJesus · 20/12/2019 17:26

I'm catching up - who what that Jack who has just "given birth" to a baby 3 hours earlier? I'm confused, was he the Dad who would have used the royal 'we'? Was it a trans man who had been in testosterone to get that deep voice? Either way, talk about priorities, you have a newborn baby and you're on hold to call into a debate programme about a woman losing her job and JK Rowling tweeting about it?

I don't geddit.

Jillyhilly · 20/12/2019 17:22

Yeah this thread was fantastic.

But what a surreal couple of hours. I’m still Confused at the contents of JoB’s underpants.

Notwiththeseknees · 20/12/2019 16:58

That was a surreal show - made bearable by the fun we had on the thread. I was gutted to have to leave before the end, but next time he inches his cis-manly beard above the parapet, we should text en masse Grin

Generally, on MN, everyone thinks the grammar police are dicks

Absolutely

nauticant · 20/12/2019 13:18

I did about 20 minutes. That was more than enough.

koshkat · 20/12/2019 12:54

He is talking to a rep from UN Women who is now talking about gender. In relation to FGM. No words.

I think I may have to call it a day.

koshkat · 20/12/2019 12:52

I want someone to ask him who suffers from FGM.

FanofJK · 20/12/2019 12:50

Thanks for taking one for the team everyone. He really sounds deluded. It's so annoying having all these clueless men sat around discussing what a woman is!

koshkat · 20/12/2019 12:50

Unfuckingbelievable. Hmm

koshkat · 20/12/2019 12:49

JOB is now covering FGM.

You could not make this shit up could you?!

koshkat · 20/12/2019 12:47

I am still thinking that 'Jack' was a transman who had literally just given birth. Testosterone can alter female voices a lot.

Angryresister · 20/12/2019 12:30

Hilarious thread. I really thought I was present!

HarrietThePi · 20/12/2019 12:28

I'm so confused by the man who gave birth 10 minutes ago call. Whatever way I think it through it doesn't make sense to me.

Even if it's the father of the child using a dodgy choice of words to describe his wife/girlfriend/partner having just given birth to their child, I don't understand how his mind is working. Surely when you have just become a parent your first thought isn't "thanks to the LGBT community that one day my child may become gay/trans" it's more like "wow I'm a parent now, look at my baby"

HTH

Ah, there's always one...Grin

koshkat · 20/12/2019 12:15

Sorry - to snowblight

koshkat · 20/12/2019 12:14

Any need?

SkunkButtRug · 20/12/2019 12:14

Not really, he is not educated on these issues. That's obvious.Pleased you found your dictionary.

Pleased you're pleased..Hmm

Jillyhilly · 20/12/2019 12:08

Yes, that caller seemed to be saying that he was so thankful that his baby girl would one day have the opportunity to choose to be a transman.

Floisme · 20/12/2019 12:07

What? He's phoning into a radio show when his wife gave birth 3 hours ago?
Why isn't he cleaning the house for when they come home?
Or out buying more maternity sanitary pads?
