I have written something about how we perceive the difference between men and women.
I know you weren't really in any doubt, but just in case you are a little confused.

I’m still trying to process the, er, lady in the video drinking “unsweetened maple syrup”. Does this mean there are people in the world who make drinks out of maple syrup and then add sugar to them? But I guess our lady is sweet enough already GrinConfusedEnvy

That's a great Portlandia sketch. Very amusing. I'd not seen the programme before.

There's a walk I do round here with stretches where I can see down the path a hundred metres ahead. Since learning about But HOW CAN YOU TELL I've noticed that when I see a figure far far ahead, a quick glance is enough to determine whether they're a man or a woman. I've never yet got it wrong. Whatever the sex, the people tend to dress largely the same, waterproof jacket, trousers, walking shoes or boots.

If they're running then spotting what sex they are is unconscious and instantaneous.
